On Tuesday evening we had the pleasure to visit the new club by invitation. The signage and building is a nostalgic classic look. The staff and place is uplifting and exciting. The club reminded me of the famous Durants where you were escorted to your seat in a dramatic friendly atmosphere. The bar tenders made us fabulous coctails from a well described list with showmanship. The sample food is delicious with plenty of selections. The decor is 60's plush and done top notch. This place screamed hip vintageness. I have an appreciation for well made cocktails and if you're not looking for speakeasy perfection, you'll like the drinks here. There is a cozy patio with heaters and comfortable sofas and chairs. There's music and dancing on Saturdays, so if you want conversation, you'll want to move to the patio. On Saturdays, the booths are by reservation, and there are no tables or chairs inside, and few chairs at the bar, so you shouldn't expect to find inside seating without prior planning. read more

This throwback 60s lounge has fabulous decor, lighting, and patio but staffing and service is an issue. It was a major hassle just to get a well drink (expect to spend $5.50 or more per well cocktail, without tip). Bar staff seemed overwhelmed and sure didn't reflect the bar theme in their presentation. I only saw 1 cocktail server and I didn't see any service on the patio at all (to be fair it was chilly). Also cover charges should be clearly announced with signage and not being chased down by the hostess. Dance floor is small but was crowded and the music was great (would, r&b). The entire venue (except the patio) was crowded, too crowded and all the banquettes were reserved leaving nowhere to sit. But it was a great crowd of all ages and all backgrounds which is great in any venue. I'll come back but this place could do with better staffing & service. read more

Swanky and fun. The parking lot was packed late on a Friday night. No more cover (was $3) by the time we arrived. DJ music of early 90's hip hop/rap music. The ambiance is pretty cool. It's kinda rectangular around one side of the bar. There are booths, barstools and one small round table near the dance floor. We ended up standing and dancing some as there was no where else to go upon arrival. Room at the bar cleared out and we ordered a whisky sour. It was made very well and wasn't that expensive. We eventually got to finish our evening in a booth. I'm not sure it's the place for us but it is a nice pick up place for those nearing 40. read more

Don't bother going to this place for Happy hour on a Tuesday evening or any day that the bartender Jeremy is tending bar. The guy is a condescending jerk and a bully. How he keeps his job is beyond me. I have been here on other evenings and the female bartender is superb.. I will be speaking to the owners about Jeremy's lack of professionalism. Otherwise this is a nice venue for cocktails and Thursday night after 8pm the live music is great. read more

DO NOT GO HERE.. bartenders will over serve people and then try to over charge them. And when questioned they will bully them and try to intimidate them, when this doesn't work the manger will start yelling at one of the guys saying don't touch me when clearly his hands are on the bar. They will escalate the situation bad start using brute unnecessary force to get people out. I watch them throw a guys wife in the floor for coming up and asking what's going on. Naturally that set the guy off and now they had an situation. But guess what they didn't call the authorities. Hmm wonder why ? Cause they are in the wrong also? I had super high hopes for this spot. It's got a great location and the building seems pretty cool. We went on a Friday night and there was a $3 cover charge to get in so I figured the music would be pretty good. It was just ok, not amazing. When you get inside, the feel of the space has a little bit of an older vibe and also an older crowd to go along with it. We were definitely some of the youngest. If you didn't have a table reserved to sit at there is basically nowhere to go. You have to kinda stand awkwardly in the middle or against the bar and it was super hot because of all the people. Honestly, I stood by the bar for a good while to try and get someone's attention but nobody even acknowledged me. The guy next to me had been there since I walked up and he was visibly upset and kept waving at the bartender. It was a little uncomfortable. When a seat would open at the bar people would kinda mad rush it because there were few options and so many people waiting in the common area to get drinks. We ended up leaving without even having drinks or sitting down because it was so full and wasn't worth it. I was hoping to get a refund on the cover charge because we weren't there long, but the worker at the door wasn't anywhere to be found so missed on that too. read more

Went here to grab a drink. Was not acknowledged by host when we walked in so we tried to go to the bar when we were pulled back by the manager who demanded a cover charge. Which was fine minus the fact that she was incredibly rude about it. Manager informed us that the patio was open seating and a server would be right over. We sat there for 15 minutes waiting and no one came over so we went back to hostess to ask for our money back and manager pulled cash from the drawer which was more than we were even owed and walked away without even saying a word or looking us in the eye. Not a great experience to say the least. Host told us we were rude when we tried to tell her that her manager was rude to us. Weird. read more

Been here a couple of times - once on a slow night, and once on a busier night. Enjoyed myself both times. They have a patio area, and an inside area with less seating, but still enough to accommodate. When we popped in on a (I think) Friday night, they had an older man doing live music, and I wasn't sure what to expect but he was a rockstar and had the whole place dancing. I'm a Womack fan. It's dark but not seedy. Small but not cramped. Pricey but not outrageous. As more and more establishments pop up along 7th Street there, The Womack stands apart from the pallet-wood-heavy decor of many of the other social hangouts. Granted, I'd probably not chose The Womack for my party of 12 but I love it for an intimate evening. As others have mentioned, the happy hour specials make the visit here a real value but, even on peak hours, the service is always friendly and I'm yet to try a signature drink of theirs that I did not enjoy. read more

Came for the soft opening and left with my socks knocked off! Will be back for sure! Great vibe. And the food... The deviled eggs are exquisite with their delectable bits of bacon and chives to boot! The Womack board had some of the best prosciutto I have ever had. (I am Italian and have been to Italy.) Over all a fantastic experience and I can't wait to come back. Friendly bar tenders . they do an industry discount for bartenders which is always cool. Tucker Woodbury misses the mark on the Womack. I was a decades customer with Chez Nous bar located at 7th avenue and Indian School. A piece of Phoenix vanished when it closed and was demolished for progress. Nevertheless, I was elated to see "The Womack" open and inspired by Chez Nous and even naming the establishment after the former owner of CN. And to bring the same band Roscoe back from CN, I thought genius. That is where my positive comments end. While I have visited numerous times since the opening of The Womack, I am disappointed.Last year with a $500 charge for a reserved booth, I thought money grab. I mentioned this year to one of the employees this price for last New Year's, and they agreed that it may have been a mistake. A week ago an acquaintance told me he had made reservations for New Year's and they did not mention a table charge. I thought great, maybe they had adjusted. Apparently not. I phoned earlier this week and made a reservation through Kelly for a table for six. She told me they have never charged $500 for a table. I responded and told her I had the email from last year. She said there would be a cover charge per person and the booths seat six. I told her there would be 5-6 people and I thought there would be six. She said someone would call me next week to confirm what the per person charge would be. I asked her if she thought it would be between $20 and $30 a person. She said she thought so somewhere in that area. I responded that would fair. Plus the food and drink you are looking close to north of $100 per person by the end of the night. Tonight, I received a call from Michelle who states she is in charge of reservations. She related that they only had a few booths left and there is a $500 charge. I told her I had made a reservation per Kelly. She said I did not. Of course I displayed my angst over her news. She said there would be standing room only and some seating at the tables on the patio. I did not understand why some booths had been reserved and no table charge. I also told her that I was going to make my experience known on Yelp. She said I have a right to my opinion. Then I asked her name again and she hung the phone up on me. I called back and Brandon answered. I asked for the manager -- he said wait a moment and then the phone went dead. I called back again and a female (Name unknown) answered. She said the manager Stevie (sic) was bar tending and took my number and said she would return my call. TW may not have captured what the original Chez Nous founders were about..... he got the wallpaper right and the lighting but forget about customer service or having a small neighborhood bar that catered to various classes of individuals and not apparently high brow only. They even seem to have shortened the nights Roscoe has been playing. I have no idea why, but I do know the fellow who made Chez Nous and recreated it at The Womack, will not be performing New Year's. He seems to be down from three to two nights a week. So you are left with listening to a DJ and $500 dollars for a booth before you even eat and drink. Overall, a disappointing experience. Hanging up on a customer who is not yelling, cursing, or being disrespectful really should not be hung up on. When an establishment is asking $500 a table before the customer has a cocktail or food, they really should be more professional. read more

The first time I visited the Womack, they had a cover charge (as they often do after a certain time), so I didn't go in. Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand the concept of paying for the privilege of paying for drinks.... Maybe if they had a musician of some notoriety it would be worth it, but this was not the case. Anyway, I came back another day for happy hour and tried two drinks - the sidecar and the squirrel (?). The sidecar was an interesting play on a classic, but I didn't feel it an improvement on the classic. The squirrel was delish.....Booze and ice cream...Fabulous. my friend also ordered two drinks, but didn't care for either. On my third visit, we each got one drink but didn't care for either. The bar itself is very dark and feels old school. Main takeaway: the drink with ice cream in it is good, the rest were mediocre, the prices are average (10$ per drink), but I'd rather be drinking next door at Okra. read more

Went with a group in December, sat outside, stayed until 8 pm, thought I'd come back. Went January 14th. 1st arrive, went to an empty tall table. Got ready to sit down was told by door man, I have to give up the table @ 9:15 pm, it was reserved, yet no signage was on it. Blonde waitress took 20 minutes before I had to tap her arm to order food. Got my drinks at the bar cuz waitress didn't want to acknowledge our presence. At 9:00 pm went to sit at the bar, now Blond waitress is angry because she has to now transfer my tab over to bar staff, so I gave her cash tip for her time. Bar couldn't make a Cosmo martini to save their life, the worst I ever had. Bartender, Anthony, made sure I knew, I had stated his Cosmos weren't good, I ask what he made them with, no Cointreau or Triple sec in the drink, which is part of it. I then ordered a Vodka Tonic & made sure he didn't put anything nasty in my drink. Left cash tip on top of credit charge, which 2nd bartender grabbed up, left a $0 tip on my credit receipt. Went to dance, to a singer who doesn't know the words to any of the songs. Came back & GM didn't introduce herself. Asked me why I left $0 gratuity on the bill and I explained I left cash & the servers should communicate, then she asked me to leave the establishment. I've partied all over the world, never asked to leave.....won't be going back to this place or any other Genuine Concept establishment, "The Vig, Linger Lounge, Ladera, Little Woody, Cobra or the McMillian.
