The Winston is quickly becoming my new favorite Norman restaurant. I've been here twice already & both times have been equally incredible. The service is on-point & the staff is super friendly & informative (I've learned something new at each visit.) For example: did you know that the Winston carries the 3rd largest liquor selection in the state? There's truly something for everyone! The food is hands-down amazing & very affordable. We love the Buffalo Chicken Wontons to start out with. They come with a Bleu Cheese dipping sauce that really compliments all the flavors going on. Recently we tried the Spicy Chicken Nachos & they are REALLY good. I'm not sure how they managed to make their jalapeños sweet, but they did & they are super addictive. For main entrees, I've tried the filet & frites (hold the frites) and subbed balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts instead. PSA: you can do this for any dish that comes with fries! I love it. I've also tried the Truffle Shuffle burger & let me tell you: This was one of the top five burgers I've ever had! I'm a sucker for anything with mushrooms & swiss, but they managed to level up with this one. It comes with sautéed mushrooms, soy-garlic aioli, mozzarella cheese, truffle oil, pickled red onions & parmesan crisps. This burger is HEAVEN. I already can't wait to go back & get it again. For desserts, they have a seasonal rotation along with their signature Bourbon-Glazed Angel Pound cake. Perfect for sharing with the table & it really hits the spot! I'm not usually one to go for a dessert when eating out, but this is definitely worth it. All-in-all, this place is great. I'm so glad the restaurant scene is finally making its way down to Norman & I hope more places like the Winston continue to open around town. Definitely check them out! read more

My husband and I were going to be in town for the weekend, so my friend sent me a couple of restaurant options. Let me first say, the pictures on their Yelp page are the whole reason we chose The Winston. All of the food looked mouthwatering and it definitely did not disappoint! Walking in, the place is super chic looking. There were several groups of what looked like sorority girls in nice gowns and then there were couples in street clothes. So it can definitely be used as a nice date night or just a bite with the family. There was a short wait, which was expected for a Saturday night. However, it worked out perfectly because our table was ready as our friends arrived. Right as we were seated our waitress came up and got our drink orders. Throughout the night, who I guess to be the manager, came by a couple times as well. He was very nice and checked on how were enjoying our meal. Between him and our waitress we were treated like esteemed guests. We ordered two appetizers for the table: Buffalo Chicken Wontons and Spicy Chicken Nachos. I was worried about the Buffalo Chicken Wontons having too much bleu cheese, but they were perfect! The inside is filled with buffalo chicken, celery, carrots and bleu cheese but the cheese was almost more like a cream cheese. It made the contents more smooth. There was also a side of bleu cheese dipping sauce that I actually didn't mind either. It was kind of ranch tasting to me. The Spicy Chicken Nachos were great as well. The jalapenos that came with them were the most intriguing. They were actually very sweet, which cooled off the spicy chicken on the chip. I loved it! For the main course, my husband and I split the Chicken Sandwich with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. Oh my gosh! I could go on forever about those sweet potato fries! I LOVE sweet potato fries, but I frequently get disappointed while out ordering them that they are under cooked. These were almost like beer battered regular fries, but sweet potato. They had the perfect crisp and were topped with seasoning salt. I usually eat my sweet potato fries with honey, so having them with seasoning salt was different, but I loved the twist. That chicken sandwich was oh so delicious as well. The apple-onion compote was such a twist on onions and it worked perfectly. And the bbq mayo made the sandwich melt in my mouth. Though none of us had room, we ordered the Angel Pound Cake for the table as dessert. It was the most perfect way to end the meal! The pound cake was light enough that we all found room in our full bellies to finish it. That bourbon glaze with the spiced pecans helped calm all of the other flavors from the courses before and it cleansed the palate perfectly to leave us happy. After all that food, the bill was way less than we all expected! This had to be one of my hands down best dining experiences in a while and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I go here literally all the time!! It's one of my favorite places to grab a bite in Norman. It can be a quick 15 minutes in and out or a nice sit down dinner/lunch with friends for a few hours. Prices are alright, but it is Norman of course. Their wedge salad is my all time favorite! I always ask for extra balsamic reduction sauce on the side. It's addicting!! The lettuce is always so fresh and cold. Their tacos are absolutely incredible!! They also have pickled red onions they serve which are to die for! Their mixed drinks are so good, as well as the virgin mixed drinks. Definitely my go to spot! Check it out!! read more

I had the best experience here Thursday night! I came in with my sons, niece and sister. We wanted a place to eat some good food before the homecoming parade. I have to tell you I have all over the untied states and not many place compare to this place. Not only was the food delicious (everyone's plate) but the staff made this place so enjoyable. They check on us regularly and were very attentive. I just add this 5 star rating was also due I part to the bartender... it's hard to find anyone who can make let alone has the ingredients to make a Ramos gin fizz, they knocked it out of the park! I visited today and was surprised with how much I liked it! I ordered the waffled grilled cheese and adobo tomato soup. The person I went with got the quinoa stew. She considered it one of the best stews/soups at a restaurant anywhere. My grilled cheese was pretty good, but the tomato soup(it was more of a bisque) was impressive with the added spice factor and taste of the adobo. The Winston has a cozy atmosphere. I wish the lighting was a little better as I could not see the amazing Whisky list in there Liquor menu. Decided to stop by The Winston on an away game Saturday and was pleasantly surprised that while it was busy, it wasn't crazy. The atmosphere was very chill and the space was quaint. My wife, friend and I had some gift certificates so we decided to try a few different things from the menu, which I thought had an eclectic selection of offerings. Among the small dishes that we sampled, my favorite was the chicken fried quail. I absolutely LOVE quail and whenever I see it on a menu, (whatever the form it is delivered in) I will order it. The Winston has a really unique spin on quail and I encourage everyone that visits to give it a try. For my entree, I wasn't feeling too adventurous so I decided to try the American burger. There wasn't anything too crazy or memorable about it, it was just an all around solid burger. The service was good and our servers were friendly. I consider The Winston a solid place to have a bite to eat when you find yourself in Norman around the Main St. area. read more

I couldn't wait to see "Pub W East", as I call it, open up! This is a great addition to Main St! I've been for lunch, dinner, and just drinks, and it's all been great. From the apps, I've tried the tuna ceviche, flatbreads, buffalo chicken wontons, and the fries. While all are delicious and crafted with care, the fries surprised us the most with how much flavor was packed into them. The honey really complements the sweet potato and sage. They've got a great Pick Two lunch special where I've tried the quinoa stew (nice and hearty), wedge salad (quite big), and chupacabra (got a kick!). Last, but certainly not least, are the drinks. They've got knowledgeable bartenders who deliver quality cocktails, as well as a great wine and beer menu.
