Luther!!
Cheryl R.

We were greeted by Luther the 12-foot Halloween decoration when we entered! It was a delight from the moment we opened the door! Service was outstanding. The food was so delicious! I had the Beef Burgundy, honestly it was the best I've ever tasted. I really appreciated the spacing between the tables and even though the restaurant was full, I could have a nice conversation with my companions. I can't wait to return. This is now my favorite place in the neighborhood!

I visited The Wine House in Fairfax with a friend last night. The server was attentive, but also understood that we were moving slow and taking our time. We felt no need to rush. We both tried the Sauvignon Blanc and enjoyed it. We ordered the baguette with three dips. The bread was warm and the dips were very favorable. I didn't expect to get a whole baguette, but we did and we couldn't finish it. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits for her main and I ordered the short ribs, which came with roasted brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. I would definitely come back again.

I enjoyed this place (that is, once I figured out how to get there). The parking garage was a bit strange. It's at the P4 level but a bit strange since when you step out out the garage, you're actually at street level. Anyway about the restaurant...the gage can extensive collection of wine which you can purchase and then drink with your meal (I think there's a cork fee). My friend and I opted to do the bottomless mimosas instead. Too bad they only had the traditional mimosas with orange juice and no other option. The menu had plenty of great sounding dishes so it took me a while to decide what to order. I ended up choosing the shrimp and grits and my friend got the organic cheeseburger. Shrimp and grits had tons of flavor and a good portion of shrimp. I liked it a lot EXCEPT for two things. One, the sausage with it was very dry and almost tough to eat. Also the dish came out not very warm at all. And since we were eating outside, it cooled off very quickly. So cold cheese grits just didn't taste right after a few minutes. My friend's burger was really good. I got a bite of it and the meat was so juicy and the brioche bun paired well with it. The fries were seasoned well and had a good crunch but soft inside. We got the dark chocolate terrine with hazelnut anglaise for dessert. The cake was a bit dense but I like the toasted hazelnuts and the sauce was good. Overall good time at this place. Great service too!! Strong chance in coming back

For $25, you get a wide variety of choices for app, entree, and dessert. You can also opt in for bottomless mimosa for $15 which is honestly a steal. I personally ordered the charcuterie to start, with roasted duck and Grafton cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. The Chipotle Rubbed Ahi Tuna entree was honestly jawdropping good - fish was perfectly cooked medium, the squash compote sweet and tangy and the harissa oil adding the right amount of . To close, I got the tiramisu which was super yummy as well. For the $$, the value is incredible. It's too bad we didn't opt in for any alcohol, but I can't imagine you can go wrong with wine selection here . Honestly, 5/5, recommend you make a reservation.

Such a cute little spot in downtown Fairfax! A hidden gem for sure. Four of us grabbed wine and dinner on a Friday night and it was busy, but not overly crowded. The braised short ribs were really good. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts that came with it too. Only complaint I would have about the meal was it was a little too salty for my taste. The passionfruit creme brûlée was an interesting take on creme brûlée. I liked it but wouldn't get it over regular creme brûlée again. And of course, the wine was good! I'd definitely come back for drinks again.

Took my friend here for her birthday dinner and we had an enjoyable experience. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The restaurant does not face the street directly but is right next to the bridal shop, behind the fountain. The food we had was cooked well and good portion sizes were given. We had the cheese plate which was ok. The cheese were kind of hard to cut. Then I had the rack of lamb which was cooked well and was delicious. The dessert was ok. Not exactly what I was expecting but not bad.

A wonderful gem placed in a corner nook of this shopping area. I was fortunate enough to get a seat at the wine tasting. The wine selections are always changing but the 4 wines today were delicious. All selections are described in vivid detail. I tried the Asparagus soup, and a shrimp dish, both were outstanding. Service was very good, and food came out quickly.

It was hard to beat this great combination of food, wine and atmosphere. Two friends and I had never been but felt like exploring someplace new, and the very name "The Wine House" kinda sold itself. Outdoor space is first-come-first-serve but we were fortunate to get a table outside. Our waitress was very attentive and was happy to give recommendations. We started with a cheese plate with a bottle of Sancerre. Then we had our own meals with an Italian red. I got the "lamb lollypops" and a salad, which was a great compliment to the red and remaining white. A shared desert followed. All in all I'd definitely recommend this place.

This small restaurant filled with wine bottles has great delicious food. We got the short rib with asparagus. The asparagus was perfectly done with a crush, but soft and there is a light garlic taste to it to give it a delicious flavor. The best asparagus I have had compared to many restaurants. The short rib was soft and juicy and had a great flavor. We also got the crab cakes which is a decent size and it came with string beans which were also cooked perfectly and with a tasty light flavor. We have just had the prefix menu for restaurant week and ordered the pork belly with mashed potatoes and that was delicious. The pork tenderloin was wrapped in bacon and also very delicious. The crab cake with potatoes were delicious with some garlic seasoning. The crab takes had very little filler and was deliciously browned. We will be back again for more wonderful delicious gourmet food.

Had a great Restaurant Week brunch today. Our server was very sweet and attentive, and helped us have a great experience. The three of us each had our own charcuterie appetizer. They all came with grapes, walnuts, sliced apples, cherry jam, bread and crackers. I enjoyed the pate and Camembert combo. My main choice was chipotle rubbed ahi tuna with mango salsa and asparagus. I thought it was excellent. Found the harissa oil that rimmed the plate a little two spicy, so I avoided it. My daughter loved her burger and frites (especially the aioli), and my husband enjoyed his crab cake eggs Benedict. For dessert, 2 of us had the light and tasty tiramisu. The dense chocolate hazelnut dessert was great as well. At $20/pp this meal was a delicious bargain.

Went for Fairfax Restaurant Week and this place looked appealing with their restaurant week menu! Very cozy atmosphere and kind staff. Started off with the Frozen Rose wine - pretty good, just had to make it melt a little in order to drink it! Stronger than what it seems. I got the Gazpacho for the appetizer, it was delicious! It was very flavourful and tasty, although I wish the parmesan crostini was a little bigger so I could eat more of it with the Gazpacho. Probably my favourite part of the three course meal. I got the Duck Confit as the entrée, which came with potatoes and beans. I thought the potatoes and beans were pretty good even though I don't typically eat those sides with duck. The duck itself was good, although leaning more towards a standard cooked duck for me personally. I ended my meal with the Tiramisu, which was also standard but also great - nice and fluffy; not too sweet either. It's a nice place I'd recommend to others!

It was wonderful service we really enjoyed the wine flight, the charcuterie board, and the dessert options. Also the seemlier came out and gave us a lot of information about the wine flights!

Do they have a bourbon menu? I love wine but the husband drinks bourbon.

Not at The Wine House, BUT our sister restaurant, Vino Bistro in Leesburg, has a huge list!

A couple we've befriended told us they lived in Fairfax for several years. They are big fans of Dolce Vita. We were told that a reservation is necessary as the place is popular. We decided to finally try Dolce Vita this past Saturday and reserved a table for an early dinner. When we got there, the place was practically empty. We were seated at a four-top table and were told that they had hosted a large party earlier in the day. They were still rearranging the dining room when we arrived. The staff was friendly and efficient. During our meal, the manager checked on us more than once. Alas, there is no sign in the dining room indicating where the restrooms are, so we asked the server for their location. Sadly, we weren't impressed with the food. We started with a bruschetta appetizer and also ordered some garlic bread. When the bruschetta arrived, it was very attractively presented. It consists of: "roasted garlic, tomatoes, basil, and fresh mozzarella". The bread was tough and chewy, with little garlic flavor. We've had bruschetta before, and it was made with fresh tomatoes. I picked up a piece, bit into it, only to have half of the toppings fall on the table. The fresh mozzarella was basically 4 thin, small slices that one adds to their serving rather than a sizable ball of mozzarella. There was also a small pile of microgreens that were meant to be added to the bruschetta, an unusual addition. I ended up cutting up the bread, which wasn't easy. Nothing like having to fight with one's food. For my main course, I chose "chicken piccata," which consists of "pan-seared chicken and broccolini in a lemon, caper, and white wine sauce". The chicken breast was well prepared, moist, and tender. The sauce was fine, although I wished it had more capers. As for the broccolini, it was barely cooked at all, not even tender crisp. Again, I had to fight with a menu item. My husband chose to have "baked ziti bolognese al forno" which consists of "ricotta, tomato sauce, beef bolognese and mozzarella." He found part of a bay leaf in the dish. The dish was very cheese-forward, and the cow had walked through it, leaving very little of itself behind. In conclusion, we don't plan to return as it was rather disappointing.

Server Kelly M. took our order for a Caesar Salad, Margarita Pizza and a glass of red wine (light meal). A different person delivered the salad and pizza to us, and the food was good. However, we never saw Kelly from the time she took our order until we finished eating. She then showed up with an empty wine glass, said the wine order did not get put in, and asked if I still wanted it. I said "no" since we were done with our meal. At that time, I requested the Cheesecake w/cherries for my complimentary dessert, a small box for pizza, and the check. More than 20 minutes later, Kelly brought a box and the check, but no dessert. She then asked if I "had decided" on a dessert. I repeated that I would like Cheesecake with cherries. After nearly 30 minutes there was no sign of our waitress and no dessert. We were not happy at this point, left cash payment on the table, and walked out. We have eaten at Reston 60 Vines multiple times. No complaints about previous visits; food and service were very good. However, due to the long waits, inattention, and mistakes by our server on this visit, we were very disappointed. We felt management should be aware of this so they can correct the problem. I'm sure you expect better from your employees. We will have to think twice about dining on your patio this summer. Linda
