For my birthday, my wife brought me here for brunch. My first time here so I didn't know what to expect. It was a wonderful experience, the service was great, the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the "Nourishing Bowl with Wild-Caught Albacore" and she ordered the "Mediterranean Tuna Pita", if I would ever consider being a vegan, vegetarian, or even a pescatarian, this is where I would start. The roasted red pepper humms and fire-roasted chick peas were absolutely delightful, all the vegetables were fresh and crisp. My wife absolutely loved the millet-flax pita bread with Wild-Caught Albacore and sun-dried tomatoe cashew spread. If you want the best cup of coffee in Fairfield County you need to stop by The Well. The owner roasts it himself and then sells it by the lb and cup. To expand my review of their food would seem like I am exaggerating...I've just never had anything here that I don't like...it's all fresh, the flavors are bright and it's just a good quality product. The Well is the best thing in Lancaster. It's the only thing worth going there for. Try going there and you will believe it too. It has to be the healthiest food. The other restaurants there only have fast food and fried things and it's almost impossible to find anything good for you. I had the Sweet Greens Smoothie. It's about $6 for a good amount. The smoothie is made with fresh fruit, and not packed with artificial sweeteners. It's better than anything at Smoothie King. The food menu is good too. It has lots of vegetarian options. The bowls and pitas are great and filling too. I had the Horsey Bowl. This comes with horseradish hummus, rice, and sweet potatoes. It's about $10 for a bowl. This is filling so it seems like a good price. It should be visited if you are in Lancaster. It's better than getting a greasy burger at chains. The girls working there are nice too. read more

This place is so charming and quaint. I absolutely love the environment, staff and menu. The menu changes seasonally and I love that concept, i tried the winter menu. I do not get here very often and could not decide on one thing. So I tried the Nutty Apricot Pita for lunch and also got the Beet Orange Kale Salad and saved that for lunch the following day. The Pita was just the right balance between sweet and savory. I love their homemade pita, it's dense to hold the moisture and not get soggy but still tender and delicious. There are few restaurants I think so highly of... The Well is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Lancaster. And, that being said, one of my favorites period. As the only true health food option in Lancaster, The Well uses only non-GMO contents that are organic and local when possible. The gluten-free pitas are so good they make me consider going gluten-free. All pitas are serves with a kale side salad. The kale salads are always well-massaged in their house dressing. The menu changes seasonally so I never know what I am going to see when I walk in. As a sweet tooth myself, I tend to get the fruit-based pitas. I have had their peach-based pita, caramel-apple based pita, and their peanut-butter-banana-based pita. I am always blown away by the freshness of the ingredients. The peanut butter is homemade. The locally sourced honey is always spot on. Outside of the pitas, I have tried the power bowls. I always leave full and charged to finish the day. The smoothies are good. Nothing to write home about. The coffee is freshly roasted. On top of all this, they feature products made by local retailers in their restaurant and a home-made indoor wooden playset for kids. I think the best thing about the well, however, is the family who owns it. They are genuinely interested in their customers and the owner will sit down and get to know you while you eat. They are committed to their family. The Well closes at 3 pm every day and is closed on Saturday to prioritize family time outside of work. I applaud you. read more

From the amazing food to the giant play place to the unique decor it really is a fun place in Lancaster. We hadn't been in awhile so we took the time to read the menu through. So many things were added and new! We decided on a green smoothie, he got a juice, and the hummus plate. All were very delicious and refreshing really! Healthy and fresh ingredients that you could truly taste. I'm a huge fan of that. There was plenty of seating but it was pretty busy even then. I will say, maybe not the best place to sit and work for hours simple because of the noise. Children playing can make a bunch of noise but that's the vibe I feel they wanted! Giving parents a chance to enjoy a place while their kids play! I love that. Finally made it for lunch! Being open Monday-Friday, 7-3pm, I cant make it to The Well when school's in session. Leaving the holiday breaks and summer as my only options, I always forget about this place, getting lost in all the new restaurants that are popping up left and right. Last day of Christmas break I remembered this stop, so I tried some lunch, this time round. A cup of Spicy Red Pepper Bisque to go alongside the Hummus Sampler. Soup was very good, enough spice to tingle the back of your mouth. The red pepper hummus was such a refreshing change from most hummus (in general): No usually-quite-noticeable chickpea taste, and light and fluffy pillow consistency. The special sauce is a pulverized almond base with spices, nutritional yeast, some other stuff the owner mentioned. Proceed with CAUTION: Very Addictive!! The veggies were crisp, and their homemade vegan bread was soft, chewy, also a great dipping mechanism. The apricot spread was pretty much a nutritional dessert. Goes perfect with the gala slices. Imagine that! We found a delicious and delightful vegan lunch on our way home from Hocking Hills in Lancaster OH. My vegetarian daughter and I were told that the best thing for us to do would be to go to the barbecue place in Logan and just order the sides, but we headed north instead and Yelp came through again. I love the food here, but I am removing a star because of the hours. Their hours are limited to weekdays only and they close at 3pm, but that's not the problem. Twice in the past couple months I've arrived during their posted hours only to see that the restaurant is closed. Once I drove all the way from an appointment in Pickerington only to find out I'd wasted my time and gas, as they were closed for a week AGAIN. I get that this is a family-owned restaurant and respect that, but I had visited their website and social media both times to check to see if they were open, and they had not updated or posted anything about being closed anywhere. They need to respect their customers more by letting them know via social media since they seem to close at random for a week at a time multiple times per year. PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. WE WANT TO SUPPORT YOU. That being said, the food is amazing, fresh, and a unique hard-to-find type of food in the Lancaster area, which is awash in unhealthy, fried, boring options. All the things I've tried at The Well, from the fat-busting bowl, to the salads, to the nourishing bowl, have been delicious. It does get very busy at lunch time. So, on vacation at Hocking Hills we visited this establishment and I had the chance to eat raw vegan at a restaurant for only the second time in my life. Kudos to them from providing me with this delicious dish. My review is going to be a bit up and down because I have mixed feelings about the restaurant. It is amazing that they serve such great healthy food, but it is extremely contradictory to me that the staff does not wear masks and neither does any of their customers. I am not sure how they get away with it as well as some other Ohio establishments. It seems their purpose is to feed people healthy food, but they are not looking out for their health when it comes to the threat of this deadly pandemic. Hands down my favorite place to eat in Lancaster (maybe all of Central Ohio!) They have delicious freshly roasted coffee (I recommend the salted caramel latte as it is not at all too sweet like other coffee shops). I love the "Nourishing Bowl" as well as the tuna pita. The food is always fresh and locally sourced when possible. The atmosphere is casual and relatively quiet. It's an amazing place to meet a friend for a play date with the kids, as there is a tree house play area in the back. They also have a nice array of gifts for sale, from children's clothes to local honey and beeswax candles- earrings, cards, pottery, soap. You can also buy coffee beans here as well. Absolutely adore this little restaurant! Their caramel apple crunch dessert and frothy chai smoothies are delectable! Possibly my favorite new place to go to feel normal. They have a playhouse area that is absolutely adorable, and has tons of open ended things to play with inside the treehouse. The staff working behind the playhouse entertained my toddler as he kept jumping up and saying "boo!" to them! Staff all seemed so friendly. I'm so glad I finally had the chance to stop in! I don't get out much, so my initial entry into the restaurant was a little intimidating. I came bustling in with all my mom baggage and found a bunch of professionals taking up most of the tables. Thankfully, there were a few tables on the kids side. I will happily take the play area over more tables! I think my kids had more fun at The Well than they do at Aha! (Although, Aha! is wonderful) The playhouse was really pretty and engaging. There were also books, a play kitchen, a tent, and lots of neat wood pieces and tubes to build with. I was pleased I could let my baby down to play too! Although, that depends on the whims of the older kids. As for the food, I ordered a small coffee and the Spreads Sampler. The coffee was delicious! As was the sampler, the zesty sauce being my favorite part of the dish. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. I loved the crusty bread with its chewy center. I was sad I had to give most of it to my 10 month old. She particularly loved the rosemary apricot spread. My 5 year old had the strawberry and banana smoothie. I was worried the other ingredients would stand out but she couldn't tell it was anything other than strawberry/banana. I plan on coming back to try their breakfast menu. read more

I was so excited to visit a healthy food place in Lancaster, however once inside I immediately was uncomfortable and decided not to give my money to this business. This county is required to wear face masks but no employees were except one. An unmasked employee came within too close of a distance to explain how to order at the front and pick a table. I asked at the person taking orders at the front then if they wear masks, to which they answered "no". I think as a business you need to follow the guidelines for public health regardless of personal beliefs. This just made me question if they follow other sanitary guidelines for food prep and running a business. read more

The place has been in business for only 2 years and a half but I foresee it to be successful. Their menu is good and healthy at best, baking their own bread and cookies and the spreads seems homemade as well. Reminiscent of Dan the Baker except they have a totally different and if I may say better concept. Their coffee is very good too. I tried their caffe americano and it is very flavorful. While the one brewed with coffee press is full bodied and just right. After all, they roast their own coffee. The ambience matches the character of the menu they serve and the staff are very nice too. It's a family run restaurant and the father of the main owners (Tim) is very accommodating and even gave as a sample of their buckeye cookies. They also have different organic stuff and some coffee and tea accessories for sale. All in all the place is five stars in my book and that is also because of the food and excellent coffee. read more

The ambiance is kinda earthy, laid back and beautiful. They did a fantastic job with restoring this beauty. Everything is GLUTEN FREE! The food was extraordinary! If I could make vegetarian food like this everyday, I would be vegetarian. I had the kale salad and it was perfect in every way. I also ordered "The King" smoothie and it was delicious. I enjoy the art and fresh teas and spices available for sale. Many, many items are showcased on the left and right walls. The food was prepared from scratch and was served within a timely manner.
