A girlfriend and I met up for lunch at Provisions this past Monday and had a great time! She recommended Provisions as it's one of her favorite local lunch spots! Her recommendation did not disappoint! Everything about Provisions is cute - the ambiance, the decor, the staff, etc! I loved that they were having St. Patrick's Day specials in lieu of St. Patrick's Day when we were there so I went with both specials. I ordered a hot Irish Cream Latte and the Reuben. The Irish Cream Latte was SO good! It was creamy and sweet! It was topped off with green whipped cream and sprinkles which was super cute! The Reuben was good too, but super messy! I ended up forking and knifing it! The corned beef was super tasty and tender! I guess all sandwiches come with either a bag of chips or a fruit bowl option! I wish I had known that beforehand as I thought that only chips were available. My girlfriend got the fruit bowl and it looked like a decent size of fresh fruit! She also got the Club Sandwich which she said was her favorite! I definitely want to come back again (especially with my daughter)! So amazing! This is the cutest little café in the cutest little downtown strip in Lancaster. We tried some of the sandwiches, which came with your choice of a bag of chips. The style of this bakery and deli is a delight. It felt very welcoming and had a great vibe. The tables were packed when we came in, but they have bar seating near the bakery where we are able to find a spot to eat-in. There are two lines - the deli one is the one you face when you enter, and the bakery has its own line along the side. They serve both breakfast and lunch here, and there are a lot of choices. A glass case along the deli shows you a good variety of sides that you can get, not only with your sandwich but also in tubs to go. Sandwiches come in half, full or deluxe (double meat) sizes, and we found out at the register, come with your choice of chips. We ended up trying the California chicken wrap (chicken salad, avocado, bacon, tomato, and spinach) and a kids meal - choice of grilled cheese, pb&j, or turkey or ham on wheat, plus chips and a cookie. Kids get a choice of their cookie, so taking a minute to peek at the bakery case and see what cookies are available before ordering may be helpful. We ended up with grilled cheese and a chocolate chip cookie. The grilled cheese came out hot and golden, with plenty of stringy gooey cheese to hit the spot. Everything was enjoyed, and we're curious to try some more options in the future. The one downside, if you will, of sitting that close to the bakery case was admiring all of the delightful goodies, including giant cinnamon rolls, iced cookies with sprinkles, Buckeye bars, no-bake cookies, and a whole lot more! Wish I could give them 10 stars. Was staying in town for an event this weekend and came back 3 times...First of all, great space, ambience, vibe, and amount of space was great. Lunch. Had a side of broccoli salad w/sunflower seeds and a bowl of their "special" tortilla soup. The broccoli salad was good. The tortilla soup special was not special nor good. Better suited to a nursing home cafeteria. It was way too salty and bland. The tiny chopped veggies and ground whatever were not distinguishable from each other. Got crumpled, bagged, cheap grocery store tortilla chips (not actual tortilla strips) dropped on top...that dissolved in the soup. I won't be running back but I still had a nice lunch. They were out of the corned beef to make a reuben so they reccoed a turkey reuben--which was still good! I didn't love the brand of chips that come with sandwiches... they had a super powdery flavor coating. Reco you switch chip suppliers. You have to order at a counter and then sit and they'll bring your food. Once my food arrived, i mentioned that my coffee drinks still hadn't come. To which they said "you pick that up your self". That would of been nice to know as by then when i went and found my drink it was luke warm at best. I had a chef salad too. It was fine but nothing special. My turkey Reuben on gf bread was delicious along with the Caesar wrap. The cookies are ok and my strawberry cheesecake with gf crust was average but I'm grateful for the gf option. Coffee was delicious but that sleeve with blue ink needs to go or use ink that's not transferable. It got on hands which transferred to our white water bottle so not ideal. My last suggestion is add a small side salad with the pickle because the price point is higher and chips or a side salad should come with it. Definitely a treasure in town! read more

I love everything about Provisions. First, they have a wall of wine. You can buy wine here! Second, they have a fully loaded and delicious-looking bakery case with dozens of sweet treats -- everything from cinnamon rolls to cookies to crumble bars to scones to sweet bread to croissants. Third, their breakfast is amazing. We visited during the morning hours and opted for breakfast foods. I got the avocado toast, which came with a jammy egg (my favorite), with chili pepper flakes sprinkled on top. Yum. One of my kids got scrambled eggs and toast, and the other got a butter croissant. They both loved their little meals. My husband got a bagel sandwich, which he devoured. The coffee is great -- nutty and rich without being bitter. I drink black coffee, so the coffee needs to stand on its own. The coffee here stands on its own. The dining room is very airy and bright with natural light, and it has a sort of vintage feel. There's an area to stand if you're just ordering from the bakery, and a different area to stand if you're ordering food. Provisions is located in downtown Lancaster -- like literally in the middle of everything, so it's a good place to stop and get something to eat if you're visiting the area. read more

I happened to be in Lancaster for the afternoon and found myself getting rather hangry. After asking a local where I could grab a quick bite, they recommended Provisions. Luckily, it was right around the corner and I found parking right out front. Right away I was taken aback by how beautiful the space was. From the cobalt blue facade to the big bright windows, exposed brick, and giant wine selection, I didn't feel like I was in smalltown Ohio. They had a great selection of sandwiches and I settled on a veggie wrap, bag of Conns potato chips, and a chocolate no-bake cookie. This was a lunch that took me back to high school days, something about it was super nostalgic. On top of that, it was all delicious. The wrap was great with the feta and avocado mixture. I was weary when I ordered it, but it was delicious. It was also easy to eat while I was driving. I don't always recommend that but I made due. The staff was also friendly. All seemed like young kids hustling which was great to see. I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I'm in the area. Definitely a cool spot to visit if from out of town. read more

The breakfast is very overpriced for what you get and they did the one thing that irritates me more than anything. They asked me if I wanted them to throw some jelly and butter in there and I said sure I don't know if my wife will use them but why not and they proceeded to charge me a dollar each for them without telling me. The food was not that good but the coffee is good and the cups are nice, more expensive than Starbucks though. I called to gripe to the manager just to make myself feel better, but after waiting on hold forever, I decided to hang up and my family of 7 will just not go there anymore. I gave them two stars originally, but the more I thought about it, the more irritated me so I changed it to one star charging for jelly without telling me when you purchased toast. Grrr! read more

Today I decided to try something new downtown lancaster with a friend and it was well worth it, it was so cute inside. The food was well priced and delicious and there was so many options for lunch, breakfast and drinks. The wine wall was so cool and I loved all the options of wine you could buy. The bottles range from $12-30 in price each and it is $7 for a glass of red or white wine. They have the stuff to make mimosas but they don't sell them so you have to buy the Champagne and orange juice separately. I would definitely recommend stopping in and grabbing something to eat & drink or even just a glass of wine. Lovely place and food is good but the service has been stubbornly pretty bad. The staff are not friendly and simply going through the motions. I have to order food in one place and apparently coffee in another unless you are ordering both. They bring the food to your table but you have to go up to get the coffee. Tokay they put my cappuccino into a take away cup even though I was eating here -- which of course ruins the foam as they simply dumped it into the cup. I used to live a literal three minute walk from this place under its previous owners. I loved it! The food was truly excellent. I went there often. I moved away from the area, and had not been in for a couple of years... More than enough time for the ownership change to be old news. I went there today, and was delighted to see that they had kept many many of the original menu items... yay! BUT when I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with honey mustard... one of my old favorites...and there is NO honey mustard, and you can SEE the three separate slices of utterly *UNMELTED* cheese... things are not going well. Add one of the most extraordinarily DRY - really bizarrely hard and icky and gross - brownies of my life for dessert... things are getting much worse at this point... They refunded my money for the sandwich, of which I took ZERO bites after looked at it. . I took the brownie home in a box; if I had tried it first, I would've left it behind and had it refunded as well. Just a total disappointment. They may have 90% of the same menu... But it is the "same "in theory only. I strongly recommend that you eat somewhere else. Especially if you ever got to experience how great the old place was. Just don't go to the place. Having never been to Lancaster, my wife and I decided to drive over from Columbus one Sunday to check the town out and see what interesting stuff we could get into. Since we arrived at around noon, we decided that lunch was the first priority. Provisions was the only place open on a Sunday -- I figured all the places along that street would be open since people like to go out for lunch and dinner on Sundays -- so we popped in. The space is great: it's modern, open, airy, light. We ordered at the counter and then took a table at the front of the shop next to the windows to await our food. I had ordered a cup of potato and cheese soup and a half portion of the Sherman's March sandwich, and my wife had ordered the Main Street Stack. When the food came, however, we were both somewhat disappointed. The soup was good. The sandwiches were fine, but they were nothing that I could not have made at home for a lot less. A few slices of deli turkey, a few slices of somewhat stiff deli cheese that looked like what Kroger puts out in the grab-and-go counter, and bread that had nothing wonderful about it all. The potato chips were, by far, the tastiest part of the meal. Before leaving, I ordered a cappuccino to go. It was very good. I was tempted to take one of the scrumptious-looking desserts, but I passed. If I ever make it back, I'll do so for an afternoon snack and coffee, not for lunch. That said, would I go back? Since I don't know when I'll be in Lancaster again, who knows. As I said, maybe for coffee and dessert, but not for a meal. The sandwiches are overpriced for what they are.
