We visited Nancy's Scoops because a different ice cream shop down the street that we intended to visit was closed. On a weekend. So we went to Nancy's, which is open on the weekend. Hooray for ice cream shops that are open on the weekend. The prices here are very good, and the variety of ice cream flavors and ice cream permutations is excellent. They offer soft serve, sundaes, swirls, parfaits, milkshakes, malts, floats, sodas and lots more. Nancy's is also more than just ice cream: She offers a large lunch menu that consists of sandwiches, corn dogs, cheeseburgers, soups, salads, loaded tots and fries, and like a dozen different sides, like onion rings, mozzarella sticks, zucchini fries, fried mushrooms, cheese curds and something called cauliflower BT. I have no idea what that is, but it contains cauliflower, which is a vegetable, so it must be somewhat good for you, right? For the dairy-free folks, Nancy's offers a handful of dairy-free ice cream flavors. We chose Super Hero ice cream and a cookie dough milkshake, which was decidedly full of dairy. I just visited Nancy's and upon entering the building, I was welcomed by Liberty, Nancy's most amazing and helpful employee (she deserves a raise immediately because she's the best). She was extremely friendly and gave me the best ice cream recommendation. I ordered a scoop of peanut butter s'mores and as I think about it, my mouth is already salivating. The flavor was IMMACULATE and I highly recommend. If you get the grumblies that only GOOD ice cream can satisfy, please visit Nancy's and you won't regret it. P.S. The most delicious ice cream ever! Wow. And I was stunned by the reasonable cost. I paid $3.75 for a large scoop (I think the scoops are one size, but that one size is substantial). I know these home made / mom and pop places can and do charge double. In addition to the ice cream being so damn good, I was happy to meet one of the owners (not Kathryn but her husband). It's nice to see the person or people behind a product. You can really feel that a lot of heart went into this place. Of course a lot of hard work also went into this business. I visit Woodstock regularly and cannot wait to come back to Nancy's. I wish them the very best of luck. It's tough to open and maintain a business. Based on the long (but fast moving) line, I think Nancy's is off to a healthy, healthy start. read more

I have liked this place in the previous years I've gone there. Don't know where they get their help, but maybe need to find someone with the ability to read?! In the two times I've been there this year they have made three mistakes. Each time they have given me the wrong kind of cone, and today they gave me the wrong kind of ice cream. Usually it wouldn't be such a big deal, but when the flavor you give has something I'm allergic to, that matters. Glad to see Nancy's listed on Yelp! Great locally owned ice cream shop. The owner is usually on site and all the staff is very friendly. They have hand dipped cones and the scoops are very generous portions. They also have soft serve too. If you follow them on Facebook, they run daily specials such as $1 coneys on Thursdays, etc.... We stop by regularly. The food is very good. I recommend the shredded chicken sandwich. The ice cream selection is amazing. I usually get a chocolate malt or a caramel sundae. He usually gets a couple scoops of the peach ice cream or the brown butter graham. I hope they can expand to a larger facility someday. read more
