To bad it was cloudy when we went and the view/atmosphere is not as much fun…read more Lots of room for dine-in Friday at 8am. We got the Turkish breakfast - very good. Eggs were soon crispy and we asked for the egg to be well-done and it was perfect. Bread was good. Cucumbers were a bit oily for me. Latte was good. Staff were friendly and provided dine-in service. Cheesecake was 10/10 highly recommend. Berry compote with it was such a bonus. Brownie was also 9.5/10, dried raspberry on-top looked pretty.

We had to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated, and we were placed outdoors. But I have to say, sitting outside at this time was almost sunburn-inducing, so we quickly ate and left. We ordered the Turkish egg & halloumi. Since I'm lactose intolerant, the staff kindly replaced the halloumi with avocado. I loved this dish! The drizzle of spicy oil added a unique flavor to the whole dish, and I never thought it would pair so well. It was delicious! However, the only downside to this place is the high number of customers. The servers might be overwhelmed, resulting in long wait times for ordering and paying the bill.

Really lovely spot, tucked away outside of the main Jasper stretch…read more The place had a really cool, with campfires in the back, and a calming interior. The whole vibe was very homey. We ordered the mushroom toast, the pork belly, and the dan dan noodles. The noodles were far and away the best item, absolutely delicious! The pork belly was quite good as well. The mushroom toast wasn't bad, but we wished the mushrooms were a bit more pureed, the chunks of mushroom were a bit difficult to eat. Overall hugely recommended!

I always like lemon-anything and meringue. chocolate pot de creme - caramel candies and chantilly.....................................................................14 I don't really like chocolate desserts and my father-in-law wasn't going to let anyone touch his dessert. He finished it, so I can only surmise it was good. Cheesecake with berries..........................................??? This is not on the online menu so I can't really say exactly what it was. It was normal cheesecake that was flamed on top. It was definitely the most memorable dish. Unfortunately, it was the worst dish of our trip. All I can say is, it reminded me too much of my own baking (which I normally burn), except that it takes much more talent to burn the top than the bottom. My husband tried to eat the black char and I told him if he did, then he would need to schedule himself for a colonoscopy, because he'll be walking away with colon cancer if he ate it. First, more positives: I like the vibe of the bistro - there was a bar at the front and someone was just hanging out on their laptop. It wasn't too busy or crowded. I liked that they had some goods to browse through while waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. The bathroom was also very clean. I liked the overall aesthetic - modern cabin chic. The menu has the name of the chef. So I was kind of hoping for an experience similar to one I had in Colorado at a small sushi restaurant where there is no menu, and the chef creates an experience for you, and you treasure every single bite. I didn't quite get that here unfortunately. And I was on a diet (still am) and with people who don't prefer certain foods, so maybe there would be other things that I would try. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely come back and try out other things. So that's why my rating is a 4/5 and the end of most of my review. If you want to hear me complain, continue reading. Else, thanks for reading this far! So again, I'm going on my soap box: This was the second restaurant that told us that the meals were great for sharing and they recommend it, you know, family style? Yeah, no. While some of the dishes were EASIER to share than at the Juniper, they were not great for sharing. In my last review, I had thought maybe it's because there are more Asian tourists who like to family-style every meal. Or maybe this is the new trendy thing. Maybe it's a Canadian thing. Here's a new hypothesis: maybe so many of these dishes are so overpriced and everyone wants to try a little bit of everything, so they don't have to feel shame when they start sharing these small plates with each other, the servers give them "permission" to family style. The idea of tapas is great - but these are fancy dishes that don't have much substance to them and it's really hard to split some things 6 ways. At least there were serving ware this time. Finally, this is a special tid-bit to whoever reads this long review: Avoid sitting near the hanging exit sign if you are more than 6 feet tall. My brother-in-law sat under the sign and when he stood up, he knocked his head very strongly against the sign. Not good for safety. Functionality over aesthetics is what I prefer. Plus, who wants to sit UNDER something that has the potential to fall anyway? That never happens you say? Yeah, it happened to my mom. Different day, different story.

The people: a mother and her son, tired from the day's (short) hike in the snow. The atmosphere at the street: hushed voices, some bit of hustle and bustle as strangers rush to fill some void. Hunger. There were more steps from the sidewalk up to the restaurant, a seeming offense to legs tired from pushing against the snow earlier in the day. The local game and seafood, both in varying forms, were the tempters. We got our table, and we sat down. Drinks first - CRFT Blonde Ale was a winner - and a lovely herbed bread and butter started us off. Menu choice this night focused on the game dishes. Some calamari to start too, though our hunger made a short life of that starter at our table. And then we got our mains. Well-prepared, unpretentious, flavorful, and - for us - just the right proportions. My bison medallions - ordered rare - were prepared just perfectly, with (as I told my son) the only instance of spaghetti squash that I think I have ever liked (alongside other well-prepared veggies as well). His mixed game burger didn't stand a chance. He even ate the mushrooms, a sure HT. Our experience here was so wonderful, centered, warm - It helped that our server was equally so, and you can see how much she connects with the customers as one would with guests in a home. We liked our meal so much we came back again the next night for more. And the second night did not lose any luster off the first. Next time we are in the area, we are probably going to go nowhere but here. While our travels took us far, we felt right at home here.

After a long hike in the rain we were ready for a tasty meal with drinks!…read more Since this place had great reviews we took a chance and wern't disappointed. I have to admit I may of groaned a bit climbing the flight of stairs up to the restaurant after a verticle climb up a mountain earlier, however the trek up was worth it. We were seated right away, and greated by Maddy soon after although wern't ready to place our drink orders quite yet. After a bit we had moved onto the menu choices where Maddy hadnt come back and was having a casual chat for a while with the bar tender so I walked over and asked to place our drink orders. Since they wern't busy and we were thirsty we were both a tad annoyed as we felt a little forgotten. I ordered the Cabernet and my guy the Rhino Hazy IPA draft. My wine was delishious although pricey for an 8oz glass. We both agreed the IPA was a bit heavy on the citrus notes so my guy opted for the The Apex Predator Ale on the next round which was much better. The food came out quickly where I had the Truffle Tortellini with cajun shrimp with Maddy's suggestion and it was SO good! My guy had the Alfredo with chicken which to both of us was a bit bland. After a while of the food being dropped off Maddy came around where we asked for some salt and pepper and parmesan which did help the alfredo dish. I ordered a second glass of 5oz wine, less than the already costly 8oz pour but our server brought the 8oz pour. She apologized when I told her was pretty sure I ordered the 5oz but told her I would just keep it. This place has good food, a nice kind of trendy atmosphere which is updated and stylish, with a good menu. Our service wasn't top notch but have had way worse and we thought Maddy was nice at least. The food and drinks are pricey but would definitely return.
