An absolute favorite in this beautiful little town! Sunhouse Cafe has that small town local feel, but big world options. As plant-based athletes who seek out healthy food to fuel our active days, we were so happy to discover this cafe yesterday while in Jasper, and we are back today! The staff here are so warm & friendly, and the upstairs location has great outdoor seating where you can people-watch or just soak in the mountain views, and watch the town wake up in the morning. Our delicious eats (both days) were: *Avocado on Sourdough (sans egg, and got potatoes instead called "Crispy Chats") *Side of Flatbread *Latte (with oat milk) *Flat White (with macadamia nut milk) *Green Smoothie (mango, spinach, banana, mint) If you prefer to eat inside, the cafe has a beautiful glass atrium-like ceiling. Oh and they also serve Mimosas if you're feelin' bubbly! Shauna was our server yesterday, and she was the best! We even chatted it up about how there was a crazy snow storm the day before here in Jasper (mind you it's mid-June!). Kate who sat us both days and was our server the 2nd day was fantastic too! We appreciate that Sunhouse also partners with sustainable, independent local companies. Such an awesome company to support whether you're local or visiting!
Cute little coffee shop with a sunroof . Came here after a small hike for a coffee. Decided to also get a cheesecake because it looked amazing and so glad we got it- it was absolutely delicious. Service was a little slow , but not a big deal, I enjoyed the ambiance.
This cute and gorgeous city knows food! We ordered the Turkish breakfast (thx to Pam from Raven Bistro for the recommendation) which consists of grilled halloumi, 2 fried eggs, herbed yogurt, cucumber mint salad (both which was so refreshing), Zataar flatbread, and harissa. The grilled halloumi was a bit over cooked and salty which is why I deducted a star. The other breakfast we ordered was avocado on sourdough which was a poached egg with greens and pomegrante. The chai was also very good as I ordered it with oat milk.
A very lovely breakfast place with an amazing view! The main indoor area features an open kitchen and a gorgeous sunroof skylight in a very high ceiling. There are also many patio seats that feature beautiful views of Jasper from the second floor of the building. The decor is also very pretty and almost doesn't seem like the place is in Jasper. Their menu is quite customizable and features all the typical brunch items and some other ones too. We ordered a breakfast bun and mushroom and pesto hash and both were delicious. Very tastefully plated. We also ordered coffees which is made with Monogram coffee. We had a great experience and definitely recommend this place for a modern morning meal :)
Sunhouse was everything I needed after a morning of hiking! Delicious healthy options (almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free or vegan), friendly staff, and great vibes. The inside was sun drenched and just felt happy! We got the avocado toast, Turkish eggs, and the Sunshine bowl - and made substitutions on each. So glad I found this lunch spot while in town.
Stopping through Jasper Town, we were very happy with our spontaneous decision to stop by Sunhouse Cafe. The space/location is pretty cool with a balcony to people watch while sipping tasty coffee. The inside space is also bright with a clean design. Between 3 friends, we had a chai latte, cold brew, and hot cappuccino. Good stuff to get pumped before checking out Maligne Falls.
If you're looking for a breakfast/brunch spot this is it! One of the best avocado toasts I've ever had. The pomegranates were a unique addition. Absolutely loved the French toast as well! Everything on the menu looked delicious. The one thing is that this place is small so you might need to wait for a spot to open up. We were lucky to grab a seat on the balcony.
Turkish eggs! Just get it and I promise that you won't regret it. So filling & yum! The place is small & they have a very limited menu with amazing food & fresh juices/cocktails etc ... they have great coffee too. Best brunch place in Jasper town.
Adorable café with a lot of plant based options in Jasper. The sitting be beautiful! The store is bright and sunny with a gorgeous sunroof! Patio has a great view of Jasper. Staff are kind. People are friendly! Everything felt very intentional! It's not the easiest place to find, but once you find you, you will feel like you have landed on a hidden gem!
This is how your mornings should start - perfectly done cappuccino, mimosas, avocado toast in sun-lit room, with a view of snowy mountain caps. Simple food - yet tasty and cooked with love - you can feel it in every bite :)
Espresso and cappuccino galore! Cafe is upstairs. Delicious breakfast and lunch items. Great ambiance. Highly recommend.
Beautiful place and amazing view of the town. Very busy and the food is delicious Their presentation is the best. Try to go early it gets pretty packed since it is a new and good place to have good breakfast/brunch It was so good. We went there twice haha
The best breakfast spot I've been to in Jasper! Besides having a beautiful/bright indoor seating area, the patio had the perfect view of the streets of Jasper and mountains. Also absolutely loved the service, everyone was so friendly. Now onto the food... I had the mascarpone French toast, and oh my god... it was the perfect blend between sweet and savoury, and the perfect balance between bread and mascarpone/berries. I had a taste of the roast mushroom and pesto hash, and it was equally delicious. The menu is small, but I'd order the same thing again and again!
To bad it was cloudy when we went and the view/atmosphere is not as much fun. Lots of room for dine-in Friday at 8am. We got the Turkish breakfast - very good. Eggs were soon crispy and we asked for the egg to be well-done and it was perfect. Bread was good. Cucumbers were a bit oily for me. Latte was good. Staff were friendly and provided dine-in service. Cheesecake was 10/10 highly recommend. Berry compote with it was such a bonus. Brownie was also 9.5/10, dried raspberry on-top looked pretty. read more
It's probably the most Instagrammable restaurant in the Jasper town. We arrived at around 11:00, and the restaurant was fully packed. We had to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated, and we were placed outdoors. But I have to say, sitting outside at this time was almost sunburn-inducing, so we quickly ate and left. We ordered the Turkish egg & halloumi. Since I'm lactose intolerant, the staff kindly replaced the halloumi with avocado. I loved this dish! The drizzle of spicy oil added a unique flavor to the whole dish, and I never thought it would pair so well. It was delicious! However, the only downside to this place is the high number of customers. The servers might be overwhelmed, resulting in long wait times for ordering and paying the bill. read more
I'm not usually a quinoa fan, but their Sunshine Bowl won me over. It was perfectly seasoned, and it was topped with a poached egg and smoked salmon. My only gripe? The serving was a bit small. I also tried the turmeric chai, which not only looked great for photos but also tasted pretty good. Sunhouse tends to get quite busy; we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. But, the staff was incredibly friendly. We opted for outdoor seating, and while the view was lovely from the second floor, we got a bit sunburned. They do have limited indoor seating as well. read more

I ordered $40-$50 worth of stuff from this restaurant, and was sitting on the outside patio with family. I also ordered something from the restaurant next door to go and asked them if I could eat it there. They wouldn't allow me to do so saying 'you are their customer'. This doesn't make sense - I just paid for a lot of stuff here. They were kind enough to cancel my order - I just went and ate at the other place. They're not against the rules but being martinet is not the way to treat guests. read more

Located on the upstairs level of Patricia Street Deli and next door to ALBA restaurant, Sunhouse Cafe is a nicely lit "greenhouse" room with an all-glass ceiling that lets in a lot of natural light. It's a very small restaurant with one large table that can accommodate 10-12 people, and several smaller 2-person tables and bar-style seats. We went there for a weekday lunch to celebrate a special occasion and were lucky that the large table was unoccupied. We ordered mimosas, key lime french toast, a breakfast burger, a Turkish eggs & halloumi entree, and a sunshine bowl entree. Their daily specials are written on a large tear-off brown sheet of paper near the top of a wall, so look for that before you order. There was only one person cooking, so it took a very long time for our food to come out, but it was worth the wait -- the food was delicious! The key lime French toast was citrusy and full of key lime flavor, very unique! The Turkish eggs and halloumi comes with two pieces of grilled halloumi, and everything tasted so great. The breakfast burger was basically a full-size entree burger, and it was very delicious as well. The quinoa in the sunshine bowl was not soggy, it still had some chew to it. What a great casual lunch for a low-key special occasion! read more
This spot was my absolute fave for breakfast. They are super friendly and very vegan friendly. I had the avocado toast with turmeric latte, all made vegan. Remember to ask them to make the adjustments as I forgot to ask but they made the change without any problems. My meal was very light that I was still hungry after my avocado toast. But I didn't want to overload myself before my hike. I'd come back here again in the future. read more

Give me clean Scandinavian design, solid caffeinated choices, snow-capped mountain views and delicious new age healthy brunch options, and I'm one happy mama! Sunhouse is located in the middle oh so adorable town of Jasper. It's on the second floor, so it takes a little looking. It's a smaller sweet spot and while the inside is chic and modern, the outside balcony is where we chose to sit even on a cold morning because I just couldn't not watch those mountains. There's a basket full of blankets to keep you extra warm out there. Nice touch!! We started with the tumeric chai latte, in hopes of both warming up and naturally healing our bones with how much hiking we had been doing. It was golden and perfectly spiced! A winner, for sure! YUM!! I indulged in the greens salad, which was packed full of healthy lightly dressed mixed greens my body was craving while traveling. I opted to add the grilled haloumi, because it's not something you see on a menu so much in North America. The Greek add-on was a wonderful way to add some salt and warmth to the bowl. Definitely recommend that option for a minimal fee. $6 I believe, and sooooo worth it! Hubs decided to build his own avocado toast with the sides menu...sourdough, poached egg, avocado and arugula with a evoo drizzle. We were both very happy with our lighter start to the day! When we're in town again, this is a place I'm sure to hit up. The menu was filled with harder to come by options like chia bowls and such! Yay! Service wasn't the quickest, even in the off season, but this was one of our rare leisurely starting mornings, so we didn't mind at all, plus the views weren't making us rush off either. I do however think if you come in knowing that you may wait for your food, you won't be disappointed. Get those coffee/tea orders in right away, and just take in the scenery while you wait for your plates. Brave the cold if you visit from October on, and sit outside! It's just the loveliest! You pay the bill at the counter, and restrooms are in the hall. They are communal for the whole complex. They're super clean though, and again with a gorgeous Scandinavian feel. read more

This place never disappoints us. Every time when we go to jasper, we always make a trip there. Their food are amazing, the services are great, the atmosphere is awesome. Went on a Tuesday morning for brunch with our dog. Called ahead and they were very friendly and helpful confirming we would likely be able to get a patio spot and when we showed up we got a nice secluded spot. Liked the second floor view of the mountains. The food presentation was appealing and our server was very friendly. Was a bit pricey with the add ons and the bread was a bit tough. Overall though good experience and would try again! read more
Delicious in both taste and sight! The aesthetic of this cafe is right up my alley - clean with crafty detailing. Plus, doesn't hurt that you have a great view of the majestic mountain range! I got a cappuccino and (surprise surprise) the avocado toast. TBH, I don't like getting avocado toast because I feel like it's so easy to make, and, being from LA, it's honestly difficult to wow me with avocado toast as I've had my fair share of them. But, gotta say, the dish was perfect here! It all had to do with the bread, I think, which was sooo difficult to stop eating (carbs, ack!). The cappuccino was delicious and also aesthetically pleasing. The latte art was ! Service was great - super nice staff that was patient and informative when it came to questions I had about the menu. Totally recommend this spot for a nice breakfast before getting your day going! read more

So unexpected. Such creative breakfasts from fresh ingredients. Vegan, gluten free for my sister. We sat on balcony of their 2nd floor restaurant overlooking the pretty Patricia Street with views of the mountains. Lovely Great service by their Aussie. Poached egg on mushrooms and potatoes was what I had. Delicious. Coffees were terrific. A simple place but sophisticated food. read more

Amazing food! Amazing views! If you're in Jasper, this is a must try brunch spot. The French toast was to die for, super unique and flavourful. The chai and turmeric lattes were amazing. The roast mushroom and pesto hash was also great, all the flavours worked perfectly together. On top of that, you get an amazing view of the street! read more

To quote two of the people in my group- "this is the best breakfast I have ever had in my life!" Everyone absolutely loved our breakfast this morning. It was healthy, fresh, and just an overall refreshing option. The actual restaurant is beautiful with all of the windows, and you can definitely expect a picturesque view of the mountains around. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing and upbeat. I had the mocha, which was amazing. It's dark chocolate and rich but not overly sweet like most standard coffee shops. I would highly recommend it. For breakfast we had the poached eggs on sourdough with added avocado and ham, the mixed berry hotcakes, and the breakfast baguette with chorizo. Everything was delicious, and unique enough to be a memorable change from a traditional breakfast. Everything was perfectly cooked (they nailed all the poached eggs!) and there wasn't a single complaint. The only issue I could see is that it is a pretty small establishment so there is just a lack of table space if you have a big group unless you called ahead or something. This didn't really impact us, but if you have more than 2-4 people it is something to be aware of. We will absolutely be back. read more
I don't normally write a review if it's just to add to the accolades, but this time I had to. This small restaurant located on the second floor of an unassuming shopping centre has the most beautifully created dishes!! They don't have a big menu, but the views are fantastic and then you eat the food and it's just wow! Perhaps one of the best breakfast I ever had and I enjoy meat, but the buckwheat crepes had unbelievable flavour and great texture. I just wish we had time to go back again during our short visit to Jasper. read more
