I was a bit worried that it would be hard to find food in Jasper, but then I stumbled upon Coco's Cafe and pretty much wanted to order everything on the menu. We got brunch here before going on a hike and because our sandwiches were so big we only ate half and ate the rest after our hikes. I got the vegan blt (note the tofu is marinated in soy sauce so it's not gluten free) on gluten free bread and they actually gave me 2 sandwiches because the regular bread is massive. My husband got the regular blt and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both got the side of potatoes and they were warm, crispy, and creamy all at once. We liked this place so much we even ordered online the next morning and picked it up on our way to Banff. If you have any food allergies - they're super helpful and knowledgeable about their food, so be sure to ask any questions! read more

Wanted a morning coffee and quick breakfast before heading out for some hiking in Jasper. The line for Tim's across the street look outrageous, so I decided to check out Coco's assuming it would be much quicker. The staff seemed friendly and there were a lot of them behind the counter. It was not very busy. Maybe 2 orders in front of mine and not one of the orders was food. It took 10 mins to get my normal black coffee, and over 30 minutes for my Coco's Breakfast Burrito which "they are known for" based on their menu. I finally got my burrito and it was small and pretty average for the price. The staff member did say sorry for the wait. If you check my other reviews, you'll find I try not to leave a bad review. Maybe I went there on an off day, but I won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend sadly. :'( read more

They took about 10-15 mins to prepare my coffee and forgot my smoothie, I had to ask and then they quickly made it abs apologized (gave me a cookie), overall the service there seemed to be very slow as I stayed there for a little over 30 mins waiting and watched peoples order, if you are on a rush don't go there but if you don't care about waiting, it seems like a decent spot read more

we stopped in for lunch here with two young kids. The service was terrible, hardly any customers in there and staff were standing around doing god knows what. we waited a while to be served and no apology for the wait. My sandwich looked like it had been cut with a hack saw and the bottom bit of bread was tiny and obviously they'd tried to hide it. Side of soup tasted terrible and so did my husbands wrap. A/C by the door was so loud, not even sure why it was on as was cold outside. would not recommend! read more

Coco's Cafe is a cute little "hole in the wall". They are open everyday and specialize in breakfast/brunch. This is a great spot for vegans and vegetarians though they also serve meat. Due to COVID-19, they have no indoor seating. However, they do have a small patio and offer take out. All of their menu options are clearly labelled as vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free and many of the non-veg items have options to make them vegan. I took advantage of this and ordered a vegan version of their Huevos Rancheros Wrap. Normally I'm not a huge fan of scrambled tofu but this was super saucy and flavourful. It could have used a bit more kick to it but next time I'll know to ask for hot sauce. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The food was made to order and came quickly. They aren't doing table service for the patio so you do have to grab your own food when your name is called. If I lived in Jasper, I could see this becoming my go-to breakfast spot. For "food safety" they said they couldn't fix it, but they also wouldn't remake it or offer to refund. We tipped before pickup. Two words: Breakfast wrap. It may not seem like much, however may have been one of the best things I ate all trip. We were planning on getting some food before leaving town, and our Air BNB suggested Coco's Café, particularly the breakfast wrap. They also suggested calling ahead to order. I'm glad I did, as they were just a tad understaffed, granted it was 6:15 am and they had just opened up. I noticed when picking up my food that everyone else was ordering the wrap, and this made me excited to eat. The breakfast wrap was simply a breakfast wrap when looking at the menu, scrambled egg with cheese, veggies, bacon, and a secret sauce, all wrapped in their homemade tortilla. That's where the kicker is. Homemade tortilla. I didn't realize or know until opening up the wrap out of the foil wrapping that the tortilla appeared to have a smell and taste to it that I almost immediately recognized. Curry (?!). The curry taste and smell provided flavor that I could've never imagined in a tortilla, let alone a breakfast wrap. I enjoyed every single bit of this wonderful dish. Discovered this little gem passing through and we were glad we stopped here. The over night oats were out of this world good (would not have guessed that they can be that good!). Portions are very small. I took the coco's burrito with a "special marinated" tofu, it was just Some basic scrambled tofu. The burrito was the size of my hand, and my hands are very small, tiny. It was about 11$ and I left this place hungry, and that's not something you look for in a restaurant right ? Not a great service. Other clients were complaining. On a Monday morning, we came here for breakfast before heading over to Banff. After perusing the menu, we got a cappuccino, a latte and a breakfast bagel. Order food at the counter and take a seat. Pick up the food when they call your name. It was pretty crowded when we came and had to wait for a few minutes before finding a table and chair to settle. There was wait time for the food as well, but it was all worth it. The drinks, both the cappuccino and the latte were really good. The breakfast bagel had cream cheese on one side, eggs, avocados, and a side of potatoes. Delicious! Highly recommend when you are in Jasper! read more

During a visit on the Easter long weekend to Jasper, I made a stop to see my friend Conie who is a local in Jasper. I was on my way out for breakfast and I asked her where she recommended. Without missing a beat, she told me to hit Coco's Cafe. Its never a bad idea to eat where the locals go. :) When we walked in, it was bustling a bit with all the tourist activity on the long weekend. On the walls, there was artwork posted by Melissa Woodcock. I posted some of it in the photos section for Coco's Cafe. Her art is stunning and it definately adds the ambiance there. As I checked in with my iphone app, I received a check-in offer of 10 percent off an expresso based drink. Bonus! I am not a vegetarian and I luckily do not have food sensitivies, but I can appreciate that these are very serious issues to many. On the walls in clear view, Coco`s shows its support of vegans, vegetarians and it also offers gluten-free items and variations for those who have sensitivies around these menu choices. Its nice to see that kind of responsibilitiy in a local business! Sheila and I ordered breakfast, and the servings are quite large. Sheila ordered the oatmeal cinnamon Waffle, and I ordered the skillet-opulus with multi-grain toast. Sheila was a happy camper, doing very little talking during her waffle, other than to roll her eyes in delight every once in awhile. The Skillet-opulus was delicious. It was scrambled eggs with veggies, olives and feta cheese. The multi grain toast was definately home made bread. Everything was full of flavor and delcious! This place made a terrific vegan breakfast- the Hippie Backpacker was really great. I appreciated the options available to vegans, gluten-free customers, etc. It was so good I came back twice in a short visit. I would normally make this 5 stars, but after a long wait (which was understandable, this place is popular!) I was given my order without any way of carrying it. Not a bad little cafe. We stopped in for a quick bite during a 3 hour stopover from the train. I has a nice and creamy cappuccino and a grilled tuna sandwich with a side of quinoa/citrus salad. My son had a burrito bowl. The sandwich was tasty but no wow factor but the salad was nice and the fresh blueberries were a nice surprise. The burrito bowl was found to be a bit lacking (meh). Service: friendly, helpful and with a smile. I opted to sit outside, forgot to tell the staff, and the came out to find me. Thank you! Atmosphere: Fun, laid back, casual. A lot of the other reviews say hippy, not sure why, it seems like most coffee shops in Vancouver. Then, I remember I'm in Alberta, and recognize that to most locals, this is hippy. Space: small, seats about 10 inside and another 6-8 outside. Loved the view, wished I'd sat in the window seat but it seemed wasteful for just me. Cutlery is hidden in an alcove; turn left after ordering and you'll see it on the left. Food: I'd say a touch more expensive than I'd expect for the amount of food, but the tea was well priced. I'm pretty sure they dropped the price because I didn't want toast with my scrambled eggs. Which, were delicious... Olives, feta, spice. Yum! read more

The welcome booklet at our Air Bnb recommended Coco's for a breakfast wrap on our way out of town, and it was hands down the best travel tip we got for our trip to the Canadian Rockies. Also, hands down the best breakfast wrap I've ever had in my life. The curry tortilla is amazing! The only disappointing part of my Coco's experience was remembering that I live 22 hours away. I had the huevos rancheros wrap for breakfast. It took quite a while to get my food, and when I did, it was underwhelming. The wrap was not spicy at all, so I asked for some hot sauce. Not only do they cook up the best food in all of Jasper, they also serve great coffee roasted by Phil & Sebastian. Small tight space for breakfast. You can sit indoors and there are a few small tables for two outside the cafe. Tried their brewed coffee, skillet oloupoulus (sp), butter chicken sandwich that came with coconut carrot soup on the side and elk sausage roll. Tasty coffee for sure. The skillet was light yet filling, loved the feta and olives mixed in this dish. Butter chicken sandwich has a nice kick, but the flavour isn't really reflective of the Indian butter chicken - it was orange coloured, a bit spicy but lacked the creamy/buttery spiced flavours you'd expect in butter chicken. The elk sausage roll was a bit tough, kind of like beef jerky sticks, but tasty. If I need to eat breakfast and get lunch to go for a day of outing in Jasper, I would definitely come back for their coffee and give their other items a try. read more

Definitely not my kind of place. Very cramped inside with limited seating (some may call it "cozy"... I do not). Menu is a chalkboard above the till. Under the Breakfast wrap it said "What we're famous for!", so I figured I'd give it a shot. Once we ordered... we waited... and waited. The food is made on a household stovetop in a little frying pan. I usually don't mind a long wait, because I love to people-watch, but this place is so tiny that you are always in the way, no matter where you stand to wait for your food. I did notice that there seemed to be a lot of local regulars coming in, which gave me high hopes. I don't even know how long we waited, but my back was really hurting by the time she called "Donna" and handed a paper bag to me. I assumed that was mine and headed out the door. Once we got to the truck and opened up our food, we realized that their "signature wrap" (or "special"... I don't remember what they actually referred to the tortilla as) was curry flavoured. I don't mind curry now and then, but only when that's what I'm looking for. And this was not one of those times. The flavour was nice enough, but not at all what I was looking for for breakfast. I only ate about half my wrap... it really was not doing it for me. If you're looking for a unique breakfast and don't mind being stepped on, I'm sure it's a great place. read more

I had there soup & it blew my taste buds... chickpea pork! It sounded weird but it smelled so good in there and it was so cold I decided to try it and it was by far one of the best soups I've ever had, going there tomorrow & getting it! The chai latte was also amazing! I'm a chai snob & I try it everywhere I go, I asked if it was powdered chai or tea leaf & the response was fresh organic stuff from an Edmonton co. so I tried it with non dairy milk & it was delicious! my first impression is that there's nowhere to sit. my family consists of four people and there was nowhere for us to sit together. my sister and i sat in stools in the "kidz corner" and my parents sat separately at a table for two. we came at around 8:30 and after we ordered, the line was out the door! so many people, but nowhere for them to sit. this place was excruciatingly understaffed, making for ridiculously slow service. there was one girl taking orders/making coffee, one boy cooking food, and another girl who appeared to be a trainee who was washing the dishes. that's it. i ordered the oatmeal cinnamon waffle and received it after half an hour of waiting. it was intolerable without syrup. and it was only half a waffle?? tl;dr: I regret going here. read more

Okay, so I am giving this a poor rating because it was a disappointment. The rating on yelp (4/5) was not accurate in my opinion, and this cafe did not live up to its main selling features. Here were the problems I found: 1) The sign outside lists "Vegan" as one of it's selling features. However it is about as vegan as any other restaurant. Yes they can leave out the cheese or sour cream, but they don't really have substitutes for anything (eg. Meat, cheese, whipped cream, etc). Any restaurant can leave out the cheese. That doesn't mean you get to call yourself "vegan." 2) The people behind the counter are not very professional. I was led to believe that I could order an off menu stir fry with rice. However after discussing for a while, I realized that she intended to serve me microwaved mixed together wrap filling. Not cool! 3) The wait was really long, especially for a cafe! I guess it takes really long to microwave pre-made food 4) The presentation was quite horrible. I ended up ordering a wrap. You know what it was? A single wrap on an empty plate with wrap insides strewn about (and the wrap was falling open on both ends). It was obvious that they had hastily prepared it on the same plate that they served it to me on. It tasted as good as microwaved leftovers in a tortilla shell could taste. 5) The cutlery was dirty! 6) There was a mandatory tip! Doesn't making it mandatory kind of defeat the purpose of a tip? While in Jasper, my wife and I wanted to try some "local flavor" for breakfast. We found Coco's Cafe to be just that place. I decided on the Groomers Breakfast. Although not my normal breakfast dish, I found the blending of the different food textures and tastes in the same dish was great! The whole dish was full of flavor and each ingredient complimented the rest. The place is small with limited seating, but the atmosphere is inviting and the staff were helpful and friendly. If you're not early, you may have to get your grub to go. Either way, the food is well worth the visit. Check them out the next time you are in Jasper - or just passing through. Wow, the "focaccia bread" (if you could call it that) on this panini-style sandwich was terrible. It basically fell apart all over the place the minute I touched it. The rest of the sandwich was very mediocre. The coffee was watery. My husband had a sweet and sour chicken wrap which was tasty but it was packed too full and fell apart halfway through. He is the most careful eater too, so I know it was pretty flimsy. They were out of the specialty sandwich of they day (a pad thai wrap made with spaghetti squash). I do give them props for making creative-sounding food that's vegan-friendly, but let's just say thank gawd I'm not vegan and have to eat this on a regular basis. We headed to Jasper for the Father's Day weekend. Loved the food so much, we ate here for breakfast 3 out of the 4 days we were in Jasper. The first day, I ordered the curried breakfast wrap - it was amazing. The wrap itself was so soft and tender (they can be dry a lot of the time) and the curry flavor in it was amazing. My husband ordered the oatmeal waffles and loved them as well. The second day, we switched orders. The third day, we went back to our original orders. My husband loved the coffee and I thought the hot chocolate was very tasty. We ordered a smoothie for our 3 year old daughter, and she was quite happy with it. Coffee was extremely good, although my doppio macchiato was really a mini latte but it was still enjoyable. I got the Skillet-opulous while my partner got the Oatmeal cinnamon waffle. He demolished his waffle, the fruit on the side was very fresh and delicious, he insisted I try his apple. No whipped cream, they were out but he said he didn't miss it. My (generously sized) greek style skillet was nicely herbed scrambled eggs, potatoes, peppers, onions, feta and whole kalamata olives. YUM, added avocado and a squirt of siracha and I was a happy girl. Prices were very reasonable. I only wish they'd given a bit more direction when we arrived, so we didnt have to hunt around for cutlery, sugar etc. All in all a happy hippy vibe with very yummy food and a proper espresso. read more

Great place for breakfast and latte. Had the Huevos Rancheros, the eggs were a little watery but the beans and fresh salsa were amazing. Also had a green apple chai which was really good and different from any hot drink I've had. We even went back the next day for another morning drink and tried the ginger tea latte, was definitely made with fresh ginger therefore had tons of flavour. The cafe was a bit crowed and we did have a bit of wait for our food and drinks, but looks like everything is made fresh with real ingredients and it was busy, so the wait was understandable. read more
