Idk how other bike fits go since I am very new to the sport, but with this place being my only metric, it is a 10/10 for me. I came in with tons of different pains in all sorts of places, and Andrew was able to locate why/how those pains were occuring and made the necessary changes to both my shoes and bike. He was meticulous, detail oriented, and made everything very easy for me to understand - especially as a new cyclist. To be honest with you, originally I was hesitant because of the price. Now, after doing it, I've learned it's worth every dollar and wouldn't even be surprised if they charged more because of the effort and expertise that goes into this process. My fit took about 3 hours and 40 minutes and every minute was productive, without any wasted time. Overall, you absolutely will not be disappointed with your experience here and the money spent will feel like a minor hurdle to get the perks of having a bike catered around your body.

His approach is incredibly engaged and thorough -- he takes the time to understand what you're feeling on the bike, what your goals are, and then works methodically to get everything dialed. As newcomers to the E-Bike world, we had visited another local shop first but were told the features we wanted simply weren't available on the type of bike we were looking for--which didn't seem right. That's when we met Mark at Competitive Edge. He took his time walking us through various models and manufacturers, carefully balancing our budget with the features that mattered most to us. His attention to detail was incredible, and at no point did we feel rushed or pressured into a decision. Thanks to the outstanding service, we ended up ordering our bikes right then and there. When we came back to pick them up, they were perfect and ready to ride! We chose two RadRover 6 Plus bikes, and they've been everything we hoped for--feature-rich, well-priced, and a total blast to ride. A huge shoutout to Mark and his team for their exceptional service and knowledge. Highly recommend!

Let me start with a confession: I do not generally write glowing reviews because griping is simply…read moremore fun. It offers more narrative range. More punchlines. More catharsis. Singing someone's praises, on the other hand, feels like work. So for me to be writing this, you can safely assume that someone at Competitive Edge earned it the hard way: by surviving me. I am, by any measure, a mechanical imbecile. Not modestly so--profoundly so. A screwdriver in my hand is not a tool but a threat. My grasp of bike maintenance hovers somewhere between medieval superstition and modern sabotage. And yet, I ride often. I ride far. I ride with cavalier abandon, full of confidence that whatever I break (short of myself--jury's still out) can and will be remedied by the sainted staff at Competitive Edge. They have exhibited inordinate patience, unwavering competence, and a level of human decency rarely seen outside of therapy or hostage negotiations. Pricing is always fair--if anything, suspiciously so, given what they've had to fix--and they've never once made me feel like the hopeless case I so clearly am. While I'm usually reluctant to single out individuals--everyone there has been great--I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Sean. Sean has consistently treated me like a functional adult despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. He explains things patiently, never overcomplicates, and somehow manages to hide his astonishment when I bring in yet another Frankenbike scenario of my own doing. The entire shop just gets it. They're kind without being condescending, skilled without being smug, and always willing to take the time to help--even when the problem is "I put the front wheel on backwards again." (Don't ask.) Bottom line: If you're looking for a bike shop that'll not only fix your equipment but also keep your dignity intact in the process, this is the place. They've earned my trust, my repeat business, and, most impressively, this review--which I would have much preferred to reserve for some good old-fashioned complaining. Thanks, Competitive Edge. You make mechanical ineptitude almost fun.

Pedego Electric Bikes Upland - Picking up a special order for my customer

Would highly recommend if you're looking to purchase an e-bike or even just rent one for the day. Jerry is very knowledgeable and will make sure you are completely satisfied. Recently, I purchased a used--like new--PEDEGO bike from a private party (with less than 50 miles…read moreon it.) My boyfriend is very caring and meticulous, and he adjusted the derailleur to fix the issue of the chain falling off whenever we shifted out of second gear--the only gear that was working. Still, because he wanted to make absolutely sure the bike was safe for me, we decided to take it to PEDEGO ELECTRIC BIKES UPLAND. That's where we met the owner, Jerry--an incredibly friendly and helpful guy. I mentioned to him that whenever I rode my bike, I felt like my legs couldn't fully extend on the downward cycle. It felt as if I was pedaling with my knees bent at 90 degrees. Without hesitation, Jerry grabbed one of his bikes, told me to get mine, and brought us out back for a quick riding lesson! So there I was, a grown woman, suddenly learning how to ride my bike from a complete stranger--and loving every second of it. By riding alongside me and explaining what to do, Jerry showed me how to mount the bike and how to properly extend my leg on each downward stroke. The difference was immediate. I felt so much more comfortable and confident. I honestly couldn't believe it: at my age, I was learning a totally new way to ride a bike. Jerry was patient, attentive, and made sure I really understood the right technique. This small lesson taught me more than just bike posture--it showed me how genuinely caring and patient he is. After the lesson, Jerry did a full inspection of my bike and made several adjustments. While he worked, he answered all of our questions. We also got to know him a bit, and he treated us like old friends. In fact, he even had a few of his buddies hanging out at the shop, just chatting and enjoying the day. The whole atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. His shop has an amazing inventory, and we ended up buying several accessories for my bike. I even returned the very next day to pick up a few more items! All in all, our experience at PedegoElectric Bikes was outstanding. Jerry gave us exceptional service, offered fair prices, and showed deep knowledge and genuine friendliness. He treated us like friends, not just customers. From now on, his shop will be our go-to place for all our biking needs. Kudos to you, Jerry!

TL;DR version: Needed tuneups for a couple of bikes, bike shops were too busy, Alvin came to my…read morehouse and saved the day! Our bikes were badly in need of tune ups, especially now that we have time to ride (THANKS COVID-19). First attempt at solving my problem: watching Youtube videos about how to perform a bike tuneup. BAD idea. These Youtubers make everything look so easy. All I accomplished was taking a bad situation and making it worse. Plan B: call the local bike shop to see if they could take it. Unfortunately, everyone ELSE has more time to ride now too, which means more people riding, more people buying bikes, and more people getting their bikes fixed. All of the local bike shops were swamped with work, and at best it was going to be a two-week turnaround if I dropped my bike off at any of them. Unfeasible. Final solution: look for a mobile or work-from-home bike mechanic. THIS is how I came across VeloFix. After reaching out to the company, I was referred to the local bike mechanic, Alvin D. Alvin contacted me, let me know his availability, and was here AT MY HOUSE the next day! Alvin showed up in his fancy mobile repair van, promptly at the time upon which we agreed, and got to work. After I explained my situation, Alvin did his thing, and a little over an hour later, BOTH bikes had been cleaned and tuned up. Not only did Alvin provide exceptional customer service throughout the whole process, but he did it at a reasonable rate as well, AND it was done quickly while I sat in the comfort of my own home. I've definitely found my go-to for all my bike repair needs. I've already talked to Alvin about making upgrades on my bike, and it's nice to know that when the time comes, I can count on someone to get the job done.
