I was the first one in for the evening and she was very helpful in providing suggestions and helping me navigate the direction I wanted to take my palate for the evening. The bruschetta was delicious... I think whatever balsamic was used was the selling point. (I'd use a heart emoji here if Yelp allowed.) Our group was a blend in terms of wine preferences, but we went with her recommendation of the Elouan and it did not disappoint. I also got to enjoy a Bloody Mary with a maple rim! Whhaaattt?! The only reason for the 4 stars vs the 5 would be the price point... it is a little more on the pricey side (for my budget anyway), but I enjoyed my first experience in. This place is great, we had such a fun evening here with friends. Our server, Dan, was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the wines and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the wines he recommended. He quickly picked up on our palette preferences and suggested wines accordingly...hitting it out of the park with each bottle he recommended! He was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and the menu (and super friendly as well!!). We were here for about 5 hours, had 6 bottles of wine, and tried 4-5 items off of the menu. It was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back! If you like a relaxing atmosphere, great wine, amazing small bites, and friendly staff this is the place to go...it does not disappoint! Ouch. Where do I start.... My friend had been asking me to go there for a bit, so I agreed last night as we were hitting multiple places. To start, there was a musician. Hey, I remember back when I played weird places. Yay! I want to support her! Oh no, she was awful. Guitar was off key, singing was off, not the tone you want to set. Oh, and when she went outside with her friends from a front table who were dressed in shorts and tank tops, they didn't even play music in the interim. That brings me to another point of contention. You want to be a fancy wine bar that overcharges for mediocre wine? At least have some sort of policy about how you can come in there. You don't have to be fancy, but at least look like you're not living at the bus stop around the corner. Do yourselves a favor and don't check out their website. It looks like it would be a nice place. It's not. I realize it's the valley but I have been to nice wine bars in the valley, this was not one. The flights were way overpriced (and we're not cheap drinkers by any means.) The wine for us 2 who are fairly well versed were hit and miss. More miss than hit. The decor was... oh wait, there was no decor. White walls and nothing of note behind the bar, some scuffs on the walls but that was about it. If I'm paying $25 for a flight of iffy wines that amounts to one decent pour then you'd better give me another reason to be there. Only good thing was the wait staff. They were at least attentive and polite. Otherwise, don't waste your time or money. What a letdown! read more

Wow! What a swanky chic atmosphere! Tasteful modern decor and a ton of awesome drinks to choose from! The owners are super cool ladies and they have a friendly and fun staff. Kristie, the manager, is always concocting new and unique mock tails and she is well versed in her wines. They have great live music and little nibbles to pair with your wines. Me and my friend used to come here quite a bit when it first opened, but the last time we went (about a year ago) we didn't feel quite welcome anymore. Last night changed that for us. Isiah was extremely courteous and jogging inside and outside to take care of the customers on the patio and the customers inside. Not once did we feel unwelcome or an inconvenience. We are so happy to find a cool and posh lil hang out near home. In our area, options are severely limited. There was a large wine selection with flights, all the small bites offered seemed delicious- tried the salami and cheese plate. We were happy that there was decent and low key live music on a Thursday night that was really enjoyable. A guy with an acoustic guitar, really added to the ambiance. To end the night, we had some port- there was only one choice- I hope that improves. But overall, a great place and a relaxing experience for a Thursday night date. I really wanted to give this place a five star review the wine was great the atmosphere was great but the guy behind the bar Chaz I believe his name was, was absolutely horrible to my mother and I. It was Main Street day and they had a wheel outside that my mom wanted to spin. She went inside and ask the guy to spin the wheel and his response to her was "would you like me to stop serving everyone else to help you." My mom responded with I'm sorry I wasn't trying to be rude. He said he wasn't either I told him he was rude and his response was well I said it with a smile. I don't care if you are smiling or not you should never treat people like that in your place of business. I am leaving the top post because it was our first interaction here but my mom and I and my sister decided to come back and I'm so glad we did. We had a wonderful interaction with Kristie she was so wonderful she knew about every wine we asked about she made great recommendations and she spoke to us the whole time we were in. We visited during the afternoon on the weekend. I was amazed at how the staff looked busy the entire time we there, even though there were just a handful of people present. There was a good selection of beverages. We tried the sakitini. I wasn't impressed, but it was something unusual. I came in to the Vault and was blown away! The owners greeted me and made me feel so welcome. The staff was very knowledgeable on their wines and my beer drinking friend was enjoying a local IPA. I think it was called the Therapist from Dust Bowl. The design was great and the clientele were not your typical Central Valley. My boyfriend and I came in around 12:45 for the first time today. The inside is beautiful, very modern and a decent size! We were the only ones in the establishment, so we sat at the bar... it was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable the entire time we were there. There were two women working, and neither of them were friendly whatsoever. It was our first time in so we did not know what to expect, and we did not feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. Perhaps it's because we were a young couple so they automatically assumed we would not tip? Anyways, we ordered the mimosa flight and they were delicious. The strawberry was our favorite. Overall, I would recommend for the mimosas and if you were to sit at a table rather than the bartop. But if you're looking for welcoming and friendly customer service, then look elsewhere. read more

Amazing service and excellent selections. The atmosphere is beautiful the bar has been constructed of a weathered wood, all the way down to the fixtures. Beautiful place to go and spend some time relaxing. Very calming place with very attentive staff. Kristie and Chaz are my favorites and do a fantastic job with recommendations and suggestions if you want to try something new. If you haven't been, you should most certainly check it out. I'm pretty picky about here I go and how I spend my time. But I'd give a huge thumbs up and seal of approval for sure. read more

We've visited this cute wine bar twice now. The decor and ambiance are great, service has been exceptional both times. Fairly good selection of wines and a few beers available. Really enjoyed our first time (right after they opened) as it totally had an upscale wine bar feel and was a great place to hang out and chat over a glass of wine. The last time we went wasn't as enjoyable because they had live music. It was good music, but so loud that it was impossible to try to talk, and even the server couldn't hear us to take our order. No longer felt like an upscale wine bar, more like a nightclub. Now I heard they have live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so I guess we won't be going on a weekend anymore. read more

I've visited The Vault several times since it opened in downtown ripon. My wife is a wino and I don't drink at all so I'm hoping you find this to be an accurate review . Every time we go in the servers are always very nice an personable. One really cool thing is that they respect and appreciate designed drivers, always asking if I'm taken care of. That's the type of customer service that keeps us coming back to this establishment. My wife loves the monthly wine flights, they hit the spot and are presented well but I really can't say enough about the service. The servers are making all this drinks and some times come up with a lil extra. 'Chaz' I believe the waiters name was, comes by our table and says "hey we didn't want to pour such n such drink down the drain, give this a try". Super cool, he took the time to chat with us even though it was getting busy. We enjoyed his costume a few days before Halloween too. Also the lady with the Hawaii accent, she is another one of our favorite people there. She has good stories and we enjoy all the different ways she opens all the bottles of wine. We really enjoyed our night here! They had an amazing selection of wine, beers & champagne. I didn't pay attention to the food selection because we had already had dinner. My only complaint would be the seating was extremely uncomfortable & stiff. Very beautifully decorated and looks tasteful, but uncomfortable.
