2023 Mercedes Sprinter AWD 170wb…read more In early 2023, we bought a stock Mercedes Sprinter cargo van and drove it out to Titan Vans in Boulder, Colorado for a camper van build. We chose almost every option that they offered in their Ultra 170 package. When we picked up our van from Titan three months later, we were so thrilled and highly impressed by the beauty of the build. I advised Matt North, the owner, that I was going to post a really nice review. However, I quickly realized that although it was a beautiful looking modern build, I really should have used it for a while before I wrote a user review. So here we are almost a year later having been on (2) two week on- and off-road trips in the western part of the U.S, a (1) one week trip, and quite a few short day or weekend trips to now see the odometer roll past 10,000 miles. We feel like we've gotten to know the van very well, so it's time to post a review. Although we were seasoned campers, we were new to overlanding and boondocking. Ah, but no longer. I should preface my review by stating that we looked at several custom van build companies, and I initially chose Titan initially because of their YouTube videos, as we are in California and they are in Colorado. However, my instincts told me that their builds were engineered very well, and they really focused on simplicity, efficiency, durability and quality. There are unlimited van companies nowadays, and the sky is the limit as to what you want to see your build look like, not to mention a lot of DIY opportunities for those who are so inclined. Not having DIY skills, we were in the market to have someone build our van. I liked the way they built the electrical system on one side of the van and the water system on the other side of the van but, I also liked how it appeared to provide easy access to the components. Before committing to a purchase, we did travel to Boulder and took a tour of the facility to see exactly what it was we were considering. We were glad we visited them and were sold on Titan at that point. Their people and operation are very impressive. This is our third van over many years, although it's our first Sprinter and "adventure style" van. Although we are experienced campers, we previously didn't have the vehicle to get us off of paved roads. For anyone who is considering a custom adventure van build for the first time, understand that it will take you time to learn your van and all of the nuances. As much information that Titan provided us (a walk-through, manuals, follow-up emails and phone calls, videos, etc), you can't remember or know everything and you do have to actually use the equipment to learn "how" to use it - and things turn out to be much easier than what might initially be somewhat intimidating. The equipment is fairly foolproof and user friendly, although it may not appear that way at first. Titan's designs are functional. Yes, check out Instagram and you'll see hundreds and hundreds of different styles, some simple and spartan and others reflecting a luxurious living room style. For us, we wanted efficiency, durability, functionality, comfort and style, but we didn't want to worry about off-road dust, dirt or the elements. We already have a fine living room in our house and didn't need another one. Are we glad we opted for a microwave, shower, Murphy bed, upgraded stereo system, 1,000 amp hours of battery, extended range 47 gallon fuel tank, air up/down compressor, upgraded suspension and tires, Webasto diesel heater, air conditioner, refrigerator and induction stove, roof rack, awning, mobile Starlink, and exterior lighting? Oh hell yes! And there's a whole lot more in our build. And the interior LED lighting is very well thought out and effective. The exterior lighting is very impressive- turns the dark night into daylight. One could easily live in a Titan van build if one was so inclined. Bottom line: this is a very versatile and mobile adventure van and can go where most larger RV rigs can't. Is van life for everyone? Maybe not, but if you like the idea of a micro vacation home that isn't limited by a concrete foundation, then maybe this is the path for you. We're glad we chose Titan Vans. They've proved to us that it's not just about selling a van build, but standing behind their product which happens to be a real quality van build. Matt and his team were great to work with - pre and post build. Excellent customer service. Special shout out to Matt, Ryan, Tyler M, Tyler G, Chandler, and the techs and fabricators who did a fantastic job.

Second time renting!…read more We had an awesome time with the Baja Ford F-350. Although it took some time to get used to driving such a large vehicle, the ride itself was extremely comfortable with all the bells and whistles that a modern high trim vehicle could have! (vented seats in the summer will never be underrated) We had the rental for a total of 3 nights. Pick up was straightforward and as long as you review the helpful manual that they send you (along with watching the Baja walkthrough video on Youtube), it should be all that you need to get settled in! The camper shell is very roomy with plenty of amenities and the fact that you can raise and lower the top makes the handling of the truck (when the top is down) a cinch. Having a roomy shower and toilet onboard is a true godsend when boondocking or if you're at a campground without those facilities. The battery onboard is large enough to run the A/C for hours on end and as long you drive and/or park in the sun, it will help in recharging the batteries so no need fretting if you can't find a place to hook up to power! With a large fresh water tank, it gives you plenty of water to take a shower (or 2 depending on how many people and how long they shower), wash dishes and clean up! The fridge is fantastic and kept our drinks and food cold without any issues (just don't overstuff it!). Cooking in truck was always easy as there is plenty of room to cook and prep your food! Overall we were quite pleased with our experience and the drop off process was just as seamless (just pop in the Rossmonster business and drop off your keys). The company and staff are responsive and their rigs are extremely impressive. Being able to rent one really gives one the opportunity to "try before you buy" and is something I will always appreciate. The company stands by their vehicles and designs and it shows as they actively encourage people to rent them out to see what all the hype is about! Would 100% recommend.

Someone had to admit that all is not perfect with this company. Construction carelessness issues…read moreand shortcuts abound. Some may have related to volume of business that came due to RV popularity during COVID, but -- 1. Refrigerator not properly vented -- vents into a closed cabinet 2. Upper cabinets not safely attached due to over "trimming" alteration of carriage bolts -- no useful advice from Rossmonster (my brothers and neighbors help me get it fixed). 3. One interior side panel is poorly fitted -- I will have to get a carpenter to help me replace it -- it bows out and it is pushing an original "cover" out of place. It was hiding behind the seat/bed, but totally visible and prone to damage when the bed is deployed. 4. Quality of fabric work is not good. 5. Installed screen on side door kept falling down -- turns out they had actually greased the slot in the door trim that they shoved the screen into -- it lasted about 15 miles and kept falling off (I have changed to a better brand) On the good side, the electric system is awesome. They were helpful during van design.
