We've been passively looking at used camper vans online for years, because the cost of a new one felt out of reach and the timing to purchase one wasn't right. Once our situation better aligned with moving forward with a purchase, just for grins, I searched "new" camper vans instead of searching used and I landed on a new 2025 Thor Twist at Mericle that was priced competitively with used models I'd seen. It had 1,200 miles from being driven from the factory in Indiana and was taken to a trade show, but everything Thor was unused and still under warranty. We reached out via their contact us form and was out in touch with Brandon. This is a small, mom and pop dealership-and we love supporting small businesses. Brandon was upfront and very fair. It was up there with the best "car-buying" experiences I've ever had. We corresponded by phone, FaceTime for a video walkthrough of the van and checked everything on the van to make sure everything was in order. They specialize in tow behind trailers, so the van wasn't for their primary audience. After we did our due diligence, we made arrangements to drive from Texas to Colorado to see it in person and to purchase it if everything checked out. And it did. Brandon, DJ and Mike took great care of us, getting us acquainted with all of the systems, researching and fixing a noise on the roof that ended up being some cables for the awning that had broken free of their zip tie before we headed back to Texas. I choose Mericle RV because they are small business owned and local. unlike the great reviews they have: my experience was very disappointing/ I had already chosen the trailer so I had minimal experience with the salesman I'm not sure exactly who he was ? - dealt mostly with finance -finance is never fun but I walked away feeling very low rate. the unit had a torn screen door and to this date I have been unable to get this resolved other than have to take the unit back- which is not convenient at this time. I call Motorhome Mike from CW in tears because I.AM.DONE. Mike says, "Don't go home, bring it to me." We are warmly greeted and then Mike's entourage comes out and we take a tour of "the lemon nightmare." They take notes, copies, my info, and say, "We'll take care of the rest." I was not Mike's client. He did not have to take my calls, offer advice, tell me to bring it down, nothing. He could have said sorry and been done with me. He didn't. That is real service. My husband and I went to pick up our RV 4 weeks ago. We came with a check, to buy sight unseen. We were very excited, but things went downhill fast. We hauled our RV back to SD and discovered quickly when we stopped at a Nebraska state park that we were not given a user manual, which we were advised to refer to countless times on our walk through. We then learned we were not given the tool to put the jack stands down on our Bushwacker plus. We made due with a little wrench, though it was uncomfortable and time consuming. Thereafter we struggled with how to understand the water systems, the electric power, and other things. The following week my husband called to request a user manual and the tool needed. He was told this time there would be no user manual but rather just all the manuals that were in the RV for things like the microwave. They also said he would be receiving the tool in the mail to put the jack stands down properly. The tool never arrived and we bent a jack stand July 4th weekend trying to enjoy our new RV. We rented an RV from an RV place in Minnesota - when we got to Colorado the lock had jammed on the door and we couldn't exit the RV. We called several places near where we were in Colorado and the ONLY place that said they would help us was MERICLE RV. We drove there and three gentlemen including the owner were waiting outside for us. Within minutes they had unjammed the door from the outside (which we couldn't have done from inside).
