I hired Aloha ʻĀina Landscaping for a drainage project at my home that involved tying my downspouts…read moreinto underground drain lines with pop-up emitters and restoring the lawn afterward. Overall, I'm very happy with how the project turned out. The installation itself went well, and the crew did a good job keeping the work areas organized and putting the yard back together after the trenching. The real test came after a heavy storm, when I noticed some pooling and settling along portions of the restored trenches. I contacted Ea, the project manager, and he took the concerns seriously. He arranged for a crew to come back out, and they ended up addressing both sides of the house. They lifted and regraded the affected sod, added material underneath to help with settling, cleaned out the drain lines, and thoroughly flushed and tested both downspouts and emitters to make sure everything was flowing correctly. Ea also followed up with photos and videos documenting the work, which I appreciated. What impressed me most was that they didn't argue about the concerns or disappear once the original job was completed. They came back, corrected the issues, tested the system, and made sure I was satisfied with the result. The drainage system is functioning properly now and the yard looks much better. Based on both the quality of the work and the way Aloha ʻĀina handled the follow-up, I would definitely recommend them.

We had such a wonderful experience with Aloha ʻĀina Landscaping. We highly recommend them!…read more My family and I met with Stu to purchase several plants from their nursery, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. Stu was incredibly generous with his time, knowledge, and care. He didn't just sell us plants -- he educated us. He walked us through exactly how to help them thrive in their new environment, from soil considerations to watering patterns to sunlight needs. You can immediately tell he genuinely cares about both the plants and the people taking them home. As someone who values stewardship of the land, I deeply appreciated how intentional and thoughtful he was in explaining how to properly care for the plants so they can flourish. And he even let my son and another family purchasing plants there pet his baby sheep. His team was equally impressive. Every team member who assisted us was kind, patient, and eager to help. They carefully loaded the plants into our vehicle and made sure everything was secure. It felt less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into a community of people who truly love what they do. If you're looking for expertise, integrity, and genuine aloha in the landscaping and nursery space, Aloha ʻĀina Landscaping is the real deal. We're grateful and will absolutely be back.

Excellent Service from a True Professional…read more Colton from Accurate Plumbing provided outstanding service when I called about clogged drains in both bathrooms. He arrived quickly and immediately diagnosed the problem - toothpaste residue buildup (who knew!). What impressed me most was his expertise and willingness to educate: he explained exactly what caused the clogs and how to prevent them in the future. As someone who comes from a family of plumbers, Colton brings old-school professionalism that's rare today. His pricing was completely reasonable, even for a service call to my location in town.. Unlike other plumbers I've used who charge premium rates and leave you guessing about the work, Colton was transparent about everything. Accurate Plumbing feels more like a trusted community resource than a typical commercial business. Colton's approach - honest, reliable, and genuinely looking out for his customers - reminds me of the way business used to be done. It's refreshing to find a plumber who doesn't price gouge and actually wants to help you maintain your home properly. This is the only plumber you'll need. Highly recommended for anyone looking for expert service at fair prices. And locally owned!

I'm very disappointed with the behavior of an A&K Landscaping employee during their recent…read moremaintenance work at a neighboring apartment building. On Tuesday, September 23rd, an A&K employee trimmed a large portion of an avocado tree on my property that overhangs into the apartment's yard. While I completely understand and have no issue with trimming branches that extend beyond the shared fence line, what happened afterward was unacceptable. The employee dumped all of the tree trimmings--equivalent to a full pickup truck load--onto my side of the fence without asking or informing me. When I approached him to ask if he was planning to clean up the mess, his response was dismissive and unprofessional. He said something like, "No, it's your tree and it's making a lot of leaves to clean up," as if that justified dumping a huge amount of debris onto my property. I had to explain to him that you can't cut down someone else's tree and then leave the mess behind for the property owner to deal with. Only after I moved the debris back on their side and a lot of back and forth did he finally decide to take the trimmings and haul them away on their truck. To make matters worse, I immediately left a voicemail and sent a text to the company's owner, Alika Peterson, asking for a call back to discuss the situation. I called again later the same day and followed up the next day as well. As of now, I have not received any response from Mr. Peterson, which only adds to the frustration and unprofessionalism of this experience. I was appalled by this blatant lack of respect for my property and their apparent attempt to get away with it simply because they thought no one was home at 9 a.m. If the tree had been a genuine nuisance, I would have been more than willing to work with the property owner to resolve it. However, it is not the decision of an A&K employee to make, nor is it acceptable for them to dispose of debris in this manner. I hope A&K Landscaping reconsiders how they train their employees on handling these kinds of situations and improves their responsiveness to customer concerns.

They took my initial ideas and enhanced them with the lava rock path, back bed and even placed my huge blue pot in the right spot to highlight aesthetic purpose and balance the area. I don't think I've smiled so much in the past 24 hours watching them do the work and now enjoying the result. I felt their pricing was fair and competitive and have already recommended them to friends. Don't hesitate to contact.

Luckily, I came across Cary who is the owner of Takenaka Landscaping who actually does all of the things I just mentioned. On my most recent dealing with Cary, he was very prompt when responding, came out right away to assess my yard, and took care of my yard issues (leaking sprinkler/plant issues) right away. I had contacted several other companies just to price around and I ran into all kinds of issues with them. Some didn't call back, some wanted to charge me just to give me an estimate, and one company that was going to fix my leaking sprinkler cancelled on me the day that they were supposed to come out for the job. In the end, Cary promptly addressed all of my yard issues. I highly recommend Takenaka Landscaping if you're looking for a landscape company!
