They have a nice selection of trees. The Douglas Firs smell so good! Ho ho ho!

Super busy big box hardware store. Over the past year I have spent a ton of money in this place. Everything from heavy duty stuff like fence supplies, concrete, lumber, and furniture (ordered online), to household stuff like light fixtures, pliers, and sponges. As I am currenyly doing some bathroom and kitchen improvements, I recently visited the plumbing and fauces sections here. I had all my parts picked out from the website, but was assisted by a plumbing associate named Ken. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He helped me find the items I needed, gave me advice on my washer hoses, and helped with cutting some PVC pipe. Home Depot is lucky to have Ken because he is awesome! This store also offers buy online, and pick up in store, which is very convenient. I like this location because it is close to my home, but low key, I prefer the Mapunapuna location because it's less crazy busy.

The staff at this Home Depot location is very attentive and helpful. They must have an effective management team training their employees. We usually buy things online or go to this location for needs such as garden, home improvement, and repair items. I have ordered online in recent past with pick up at store. The locker pick up system for fast pick up is easy to use. Also for larger items, their system pick for online order is efficient. This is a busy location, but lines go fast. Lots and lots of choices for holiday decorations!

It was a busy Sunday with many people needing supplies for their projects! The parking lot was filled - and it's easy to get irritated after one signals for a space, shows patience, and watches out for pedestrians. Granted, others may not be as observant, or as patient, so do take it in stride and just breathe. (I saw a FB group with examples of how Hawai'i people can't park or drive (?) - so another strategy might be to just chuckle?). It's a bit of a wait to enter the lot, and the same to exit. (Map your exit - as there is a right turn only at the makai exit, and a left turn joining all the Costco shoppers on the mauka exit, which also is busy due to the stoplight.) Big plus - it was nice to be greeted by employees at the front door - which is also helpful to get directions to the section you need! (Without any hesitation, I was advised, "That's on aisle 15!"). The selection is huge for the majority of projects, and we were looking for only two things: a new mailbox (a truck flattened mine, including the cemented pole), and something to prevent flooding at my front door during heavy rains like we just experienced. The mailbox selection was pretty good, and on a slightly higher price range than other stores. The quality of options were definitely high! (I took some photos to send to our handyman.). They have a wall mounted section, apartment complex options, plastic and metal, regular and locked styles to choose from. The options to protect door jambs and the like were plentiful, and included foam, rubber, and metal protections, including those for marine use. We met another homeowner who was purchasing more than one - so we were fortunate to get tips from her - they had bought one the day before, installed it, and with satisfactory results, came to get more for the rest of their house doors. Great tips! She needed employee and ladder assistance, so we had time to chat:). Thank you for your help! Checkout is self directed, and if you are a Home Depot credit card holder, you have 25% discounts, according to the staff member assisting the self checkout kiosks. (Thank you for your help as well!) It was quick service out, and don't laugh, there were still parking lot issues just to exit. (Amazing how people won't let you exit the stall, and another to take your space, without trying to bypass them..., which then causes everyone to be stuck - kind of like that children's car game?). Again, just laugh and breathe, it's a parking lot;) Although I didn't frequent the garden section this time, I want to share that they have a wonderful selection there as well. Last year, I bought a tray of succulents to give as church teachers' gifts, which turned out to be a lovely hit;). A visit here can be swift, or take as long as you like while making those important project decisions. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, the selection is great, and the prices are competitive. There's restrooms, lots of light, and many shopping carts to help you move the bulky items!

Robert G. made our appliance search and purchasing as easy and seamless as possible! He was very patient as we needed to figure out a lot with our fixer upper and a kitchen that is completely gutted. But he was very understanding and so helpful during the whole process. Thank you Robert for all of your help! We appreciate it!

Very nice selection of plants however every plant that I've bought here has been infested with mealy bugs causing me more money and stress in order to eradicate them.

I need to replace the entire sets of window coverings for my living room. I measured each window section and woke up very early on a saturday morning to beat the rush at the Home Depot in Iwilei. When I arrived at about 5:15 am, I asked the sales associate in the interior department to kindly help me cut the mini blinds to my specified dimensions. I had specifically wanted the aluminum blinds and asked them if they had it. The associate appeared to not be familiar with any of the products but after I looked around myself, I was able to locate the blinds. The blinds needed to be cut down to my size but the associate did not know how to use the cutting apparatus. I asked him when someone would arrive that knew how to use the machine which I found out was at 7am. Sadly, I was not able to purchase the product I needed on this visit.

This is our go-to Home Depot. It usually has everything we're looking for and BONUS there are actual friendly helpful human beings available for questions! We've also used their rental vehicles in the past with no issues. Lots of parking, half of it covered which is a huge bonus on a hot day.

(Shopped 03/13/22 SU, 05/15/23 MO, 05/16/23 TU, 05/23/23 TU, and 06/01/23 TH): They might as well put a name plate at this depot because this will become my second home! I've anointed The Home Depot's Kalihi location as my primary hardware store while on O'ahu mainly due to proximity. In my family's line of business, you truly needed a store like this for all of your various home furnishings, gardening, projects, repairs, and more. Although there were both national (Lowe's) and regional (City Mill) competitors in the area, I scoped them out and found that The Home Depot brand was a better fit for our needs; plus, we have had a longstanding business account with them for all locations. Did these recent visits cement my positive attitude toward this depot of all-things home projects!? PURCHASE 03/13/22 SU Goods ($253.50): My first visit, I grabbed a ton of cleaning stuff, bathroom items and other random things to start making the place feel like home. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=LJP2t9AEfsrRhBYj-Kvi5g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 05/15/23 MO Goods ($90.49): I snagged a sturdy step ladder https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=vgbEdGoNehhyGNOmMunw8w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw to reach those out-of-the-way places, and a few random items https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Gg7pJ_0qngohEL27O645yQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw to repair some things. 05/16/23 TU Goods ($109.49): I desperately needed a tool set https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Py2Tno3_KZyCyUXBf0u_LA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw so I was able to fix nearly everything, and frankly it made me feel more like a man - LOL! 05/23/23 TU Goods ($27.84): Needed some furniture slider pads to protect the laminate flooring and rubber door stops to keep the doors open. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Mg32PnMwsfN7mSkm2RlVNQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 06/01/23 TH Goods ($522.97): I found the perfect curtain panels https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_j15GYpRbVUC1EtvccQdtw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw for the place and nearly cleared out their inventory; plus, a silicone spray for the lanai door so it wouldn't stick. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=GXwPl9ESJPlXtOQCOgQ8ug&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw SERVICE Like worker bees, there were plenty of friendly staff members who buzzed around between aisles clad in their distinctive orange vests. Each person I dealt with was extremely helpful as I tried to learn the layout - mahalo! PARKING (FREE) Plenty of stalls on their large onsite private lot - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large one-level warehouse building methodically sectioned off by departments with proper signage, countless aisles https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=LvES3HYfOTaz5YwnOPWU4A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and shelves nicely maintained and stocked, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=WpNc-VnIdiaSE-Eidl8xtQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and products galore, in addition to the outdoor nursery and items at the very front before you entered. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front part of the store while a ton of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while a murmur of background music could barely be heard through the sounds of conversations and vehicles. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=R1FoJwHft8dhgU9iZ8p6oQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Kalihi's The Home Depot location more than filled my needs on this new adventure, and I'm expected to be back often. This was truly a one-stop shop with many well-known brands, wonderful merchandise variety, good prices, and wonderful customer service. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $1,004.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, although we used their commercial business credit card, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

09/25/23 I had the absolute best experience at Home Depot today. A friend and I went to pick up supplies to put a drip system in my garden. We were floundering around a bit when a guy named Bryan from Plumbing ask d if we needed any assistance. At first I was a bit hesitant because my friend had done this before but since we were struggling a bit I said "sure". Bryan was sooooo helpful and stayed with us the entire time sitting out ideas and options...then explained how it all comes together. He checked prices in individual parts vs a starter kit and showed us the most economical way to go He made recommend what kind of hose to use and as we changed configuration of the drip system, he patiently helped us think it all through. Bryan is an exceptional person and I really think a total asset to Home Depot. Thank you Bryan!!

    Any lanai stacking chairs?

Patio chairs can be ordered. They occasionally will receive stackable plastic chairs, but it's best to check with them before heading down.

    Do you have black paracord?

Looks like they may have some at the Honolulu location. Your best bet is to check on their website. They show you which stores carry it and exactly where you can find it in the store. You may be also able to do curbside pick-up. Hope that helps!

Do you have tool rental at this location?

They do have tool rentals. Call (808)521-7355 then press 6 to see if they have the tool you need to rent.

It was started in 1938 by East Oahu farmers and a Kailua papaya cooperative as a farmer-founded business entity that shifted from farming to home gardening. Today, it supplies plants, floral arrangements, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, etc. for home gardeners. There are currently two locations for Koolau Farmers: Kaneohe and Honolulu (McCully). This review is for the Honolulu location. Items that the McCully location carry include: bromeliads, flowers, fruit, orchids, palms, fruit trees, peppers, tropical fruits, shrubs, soil, trees, veggies, hono hono orchids, dwarf fruit trees (Meyer lemon, Tahitian limes, Naval oranges, jabong, grafted mango, avocado). It also offers seed starting supplies, fertilizers for plants and flowers, worm composting bins; and info re growing and care of indoor potted plants, organic gardening, soil testing, and proper lighting. What brought us to Koolau Farmers is my lilikoi vine that I've had in my back yard for a number of years. With the help of bees, the vine had flourished and produced many delicious fruits for homemade lilikoi desserts, such as lilikoi chiffon pie, lilikoi curd, lilikoi bars, and more. But in recent years, the flowers would bloom, but because there are no bees to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, no fruits are produced. Questions to Koolau Farmers confirmed that there is a lack of nesting sites for carpenter bees (I think they're known as the black bumblebees that we no longer see) to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, resulting in a lack of fruit. According to Koolau Farmers, the flowers must be hand-pollinated instead. Staff provided instructions to my hubby on how to hand-pollinate the beautiful lilikoi flowers. A work in progress, and I'm sure more questions to follow. Then the next project will be our dwarf local orange tree. Where is the fruit? There's a single tiny orange on it, yes, only one! Hope Koolau Farmers can help us on this one! Another work in progress. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and provides helpful guidance. An unlikely spot in urban Honolulu to have a nursery and garden supply store, but I'm glad that it's there! The interior space is not that big, but houses boxes of fertilizers and various home gardening equipment for home gardeners. There may be displays of seasonal items on how to grow certain plants, such as hono hono orchids. Open daily from 8a to 5p. Free parking in the private lot. On the outside private lot are scattered variety of healthy local plants, herbs, orchids, and fruit trees. We look forward in working with Koolau Farmers and knowing that they are there to help us with our home gardening needs!

Pricing was decent, I got some grow plugs at 2 for $1 and also a heavy duty humidity dome. Fortunately I do a lot of aquascaping so I already had a plant light that can run on its own 24/7. First impression walking in, I thought the shop was closing, but apparently the owner is moving things around. Phew! There was also a customer before me who didn't seem to care that there was someone after him as he pulled the owner away to share pictures while I had already started to inquire on some items. Which was fine, I added that into my schedule that the shop might be busy or might not be. So I continued to walk around and learned that he also does mushroom cultures! Pretty awesome right? There isn't much space, but they had a variety of beautiful plants, all organized neatly on display. Prices were also reasonable compared to other shops I've visited on Oʻahu. Since it's a small shop, there was only one worker when we visited. We did feel a little overwhelmed at first while looking for the specific plants my friend wanted, but eventually we were able to ask questions when the worker was free. My friend found two of the plants on their list, but the other one wasn't available due to the shop's limited space. I've been too busy in and out of the office so I put this matter on the back burner. Just the other day I took off from work due to parking issues where administrators encouraged us to take leave and my car was due for 6 months maintenance. I strategically made other appointments and errands to do to maximize my time off. After getting my much needed haircut from Salon Capello at Imperial Plaza, I walked back to the parking structure and saw Mari's Urban Garden (MUG). I've seen this store before but never walked in until the other day. I witnessed a customer carrying an orchid plant, which got my attention. You see, the other week I went to buy an orchid plant at Long's to use a coupon soon to expire, only to realize all orchid plants were sold out. I just had to investigate after what I had just witnessed. Mari's Gardens originally started in Mililani back in 2008 selling fresh local produce and indoor and outdoor plants. The parent company expanded in Kakaako February 2021 with MUG. I initially entered the store to check out the orchids but my eyes also landed on their seasonal items tastefully displayed. One table in particular, had Halloween themed accessories where my eyes landed on. I came across a white mini Phalaenopsis plant that I wanted. It had a modernized clay pot, and thought it'd be cool to have some Halloween decoration. This would give my cubicle some life and a festive vibe. While waiting for my turn, the friendly female staff assisted the customer with her orchid plant purchase, along with some items for maintenance. This gave me more time to check out this store with a wide variety of plants and accessories. When it came to my turn, the sales associate greeted me and listened to the reason of my visit. She checked the orchid inventory in the back to allow me to select whatever was on hand but personally I liked my first choice and stuck with it. I was then guided to the cashier where there were more Halloween decoration which also got my attention. I took the associate's advice by emptying the whole container to check out the small figurines. I ended up selecting 8 figurines and a bat decorative stick to accompany my plant. Checkout was a breeze and contactless payment available. If you ask me, the prices were very affordable and didn't break the bank. My purchase was provided in a small cardboard box stuffed with paper to secure my plant during transport. I drove to my office after leaving MUG to drop off my new plant and arranged the small figurines. I was very pleased with my purchase at MUG where it now gives my cubicle some life and a festive vibe without being excessive. Overall, a very happy and pleased customer of MUG. I'll be sure to stop by after my next haircut at Imperial Plaza. I'm at a stage in life where I now realize little things can lift my spirits up and orchid plants have done so.

They also now host a former floral shop, Pua Hana from Kaimuki, who provides leis/ haku leis for sale. I've taken classes when they used to do them at Surf Jack eons ago. Service is friendly and I love their selections of plants, florals, prints, and knick knacks. I wish I could take home many, but can't given I am not local to Oahu. It seems they have relocated to a different location now and and are no longer at the Salt shopping plaza.

The space is on the smaller side but there is a ton to see! I feel like I made at least three rounds around the shop during my visit cause I kept discovering new things I missed before. They have a selection of fresh cut flowers and greens (don't forget to check the fridge in addition to those out on display in the front). Some potted plants available of various sizes, lots of unique planters of various sizes, and cute plant-related gifts. There was a cute station of native seed packets too! There is a soil mix station if you want to make your own. It's on a smaller side though so probably best for smaller plants and/or terrariums. The staff were busy preparing for an event and the store was going to be closed for a portion of their typical business hours so if you're traveling from far away, it might not hurt to call ahead to confirm their hours for that day. Everyone was friendly though!

I initially chose a different florist, but as the process unfolded, I began to have doubts. I decided to keep looking and ultimately found Plant Hawaii--and I'm so glad I did! Working with Scot and the entire team was an incredible experience from start to finish. They were excellent communicators, truly listened to our vision, and created stunning inspiration boards that perfectly captured our theme. What stood out most was how collaborative and transparent the entire process felt. Their online portal was fantastic. It clearly showed each floral request, counts, inspiration photos, and costs. Their suggestions were beautiful and thoughtful. In addition, they were upfront about pricing every step of the way. These are two very important things to consider when selecting a florist. First, having an online portal made it incredibly easy to make adjustments together and immediately see changes reflected in the proposal. Second, clarity around flowers and pricing felt surprisingly difficult when speaking with other florists. Plant Hawaii stood out because they were so clear, organized, and transparent by comparison. On the wedding day, Scot and his team arrived and immediately jumped into action. As a planner, coordinating vendors can be stressful, but Plant Hawaii needed no direction. They built a breathtaking ceremony arch, placed all aisle and reception florals, handed me the bride's bouquet, and made sure I knew exactly where all the leis were. Everything was seamless and effortless. Florals truly set the tone for a wedding, and Plant Hawaii delivered the most jaw-dropping tropical Hawaiian arrangements. The bride envisioned a sunset palette, and the team quite literally painted a sunset sky with flowers. Their attention to detail, artistry, and love for what they do showed in every single element. Mahalo nui to Scot and the Plant Hawaii team. We are so grateful to have worked together! If you're considering them, don't wait!! They are the best!!!

Q: What do I do on weekends?…read more A: Plant shop, but not at Plant Hawaii. New hours as of last week, Mon-Fri only. Closed on weekends. I've actually been there on the days and hours that they say they are open but they were closed. I pressed the Ring button as instructed, but no response. I got into my car but spied another family coming to the parking lot. I got out of the car and followed them. Somehow they had the magic that I didn't have, and got a lovely young girl to open up the shop. I tagged right along, glad that I didn't drive away when I was going to. The girl was really nice. I've purchased a variety of things from them in the past: lipstick vine, hibiscus and etc. The prices are pretty good; hibiscus on the pricier side but they have the Cajun series that I crave so much. Bummer that they are not open on weekends but I totally get it.
