There are many UPS stores around Sterling, Dulles and Ashburn but none of them have the customer service and I'm telling you these guys find a way to get things done. The big and tall employee at this facility was openly hostile while he tried to sell me an upgraded package delivery service. I had purchased my shipping label online, which means he didn't make any money off it (he explicitly said this), so he was trying to tell me that he didn't know when this package would be delivered etc because if I bought a new label from him, he could assure me that it would be delivered when the label guaranteed it would. Online, it said I was guaranteed that the package would be delivered the next day, and I was able to use a UPS my choice promo code. The ups package I was sending was extremely important, and I could SEE the UPS truck behind him being loaded with packages. He assured me that my package would be put on the truck even if I didn't buy a new label at five times the price from him. Today I get a notification that the package was delayed at the origin site. My worst fears were confirmed - the guy clearly didn't put it on the truck, or any truck after it, even though I told him many times that the package was extremely important and needed to get there in time for someone to fly to another country tomorrow. Frankly he wasn't wearing a mask and was openly hostile to me ( I was wearing one and have a pre existing condition that puts me at greater risk of complications from Covid), but was very nice to the lady behind me who was white and also wearing a mask. My basic read on this situation was that he was quite racist and just trying very very very hard to make me upgrade my package, but when I didn't fall for it, he did what was in his power to delay my package and make his prediction come true. I took two Amazon returns to this store and had no problems at all. The clerk was friendly and helpful and answered the question I had about the packaging slip. Terrible customer service by Omar! If there is no other place and you only have to use this store, still stay away from Omar, go to this place when there is another person available. I had two other bad experiences with him but giving the benefit of the doubt to him not having a good day, refrained from a bad review. However, his service today assured me that he has zero knowledge, skill, or even interest helping customers. A very simple UPS label provided by the seller was attached on the box, the scanner cannot read the barcode and he simply asks me to go replace the label cuz he can't do anything. Well obviously he can't and he doesn't try! I teach him that he can manually put the tracking numbers in the register but he still stands on his lazy mood and says no, not possible. Easy for me, I have another store with friendly, caring people close by, without telling them, when the scanner doesn't read the label, they use the tracking numbers manually and my parcel is processed easily. This was obviously the very last time I used this particular store. read more

Took an Amazon.com return to them. Amazon return instructions say "Show the return code below on your mobile device to an associate at THE UPS STORE, who will scan the QR code, pack, and ship your return for FREE. " Customer before me also had an Amazon return. He gave the associate the items and a printout with the QR code. The associate took the items with no questions. When I walked up the associate refused to tape the box, instead wanted to charge me to buy a roll of tape, or pay $4.00 to have him tape the box (we're talking 3 strips of packing tape, totaling less than 5 feet which at retail rates would be 4 cents). Spoke with Amazon customer service, who told me UPS is supposed to tape the box. Amazon reimbursed me the fee the clerk charged for taping the box. Will never use the UPS Store again. read more
