The owner of this UPS franchise took my shipment order and talked me into a 2-day guaranteed delivery, which was more-than double the price for a regular delivery rate. The shipment took 5 days to get there, missing the time frame I needed to get it to my daughter. Since I paid for guaranteed 2-day service, I requested a refund. The owner said they aren't doing refunds during the pandemic. I said that means it's not really guaranteed, so he misrepresented the service I paid for and defrauded me of the extra funds I paid for the "guaranteed" 2-day delivery rate. He said it was posted on the web site and gave me the HQ number. They said he should have told me, but admitted they don't require that of franchisees. The HQ is in on the scam. Don't pay for any guarantees for faster deliveries from this or other UPS franchises. It's a lie. read more

Went to return two items to Amazon. Amazon return instructions said that both items would be packed and shipped for free. I had two separate return barcodes for each item to return. The man behind the counter said that only one item could be packed and shipped for free and I needed to pay $2.99 for the second item. Went home and called Amazon and they said that each item should have been shipped for free and they were very apologetic about my trouble with this UPS store. I now have to go to Kohl's to return my item. This man was very rude and would not even enter the second barcode for the second item so I could see why I was being charged. Do not go to this store! I will never give him my business again! read more

The absolute worst customer service ever!! Couldn't answer questions on international shipping ; put me on hold several times (understandably to help customers in the store); then simply hung up on me. I called back numerous times didn't pick up and then clicked off. Another Silver Spring UPS actually was very helpful, polite & knew how to handle my shipment. You have choices in Silver Spring. I had to drop off an Amazon return via UPS at this local neighborhood store. The tape I had to close the box just wasn't cooperating with me so I was going to purchase tape at the store. With six minutes to spare before they were to close I went in and the gentleman behind the counter kindly taped the box up for me without charging me. It was greatly appreciated and unexpected. Hence, I just wanted to say "thanks" in this public forum of which it's nice to find some good business practices out there. read more

This store is usually pretty good. There was one time when I arrived at 8:15am and the store was closed even though store hours began at 8 am. I recommend calling ahead of time to be sure they're open. read more

I am sorry to post this, but feel compelled to do so. I went to this store to mail some holiday packages yesterday. Three small items and I knew, walking in, the cost would be out of the norm to ensure holiday delivery, but couldn't have imagined... Well. With a line out the door behind me, I gasped when I saw the charge: $385.00. For SHIPPING of three small pieces of pottery and a book. I had a momentary heart attack and then thought to myself, "I need to finish this as it's already being processed, and then go to the back of the line and let the others who have been waiting through." Once I'd done so, I returned. My objects, not yet boxed, were still sitting on the counter. I approached and asked if there was a more economical option to ship, citing my concern with the cost and indicating that I was no longer wed to having the items arrive by Christmas. The gentleman who had helped me looked and informed me that the best offer he had was a refund of $26 (out of 385) on one of the packages. When I asked him, still stunned, if/how to void the transactions, he balked and told me he COULD NOT do so. My items were sitting there. I asked what sort of policy disallows a customer a refund. He mumbled something about 30 days (I said I didn't care about the timing) and that he couldn't because it was a debit card. I was getting nowhere. I called my husband from the car to outline the situation. I should have stayed put and demanded my refund, but was honestly still stunned by the turn of events. When my husband called, he continued to say he couldn't possibly change/refund our order and that the items had (ten minutes later) already shipped. I called corporate HQ. They informed me that as a franchise, this store may have its own policies. We also called the BBB. My husband called him again to implore him to be reasonable and fair. He hung up on him. I called back and was terse (admittedly). Suddenly, my phone erupted with calls from the gentleman. I will be appealing this (and reporting it) to the UPS corporate and the MD Office of Consumer Protection. While I understand I didn't handle things as well as I could have in the moment, the concept of telling a customer you CANNOT refund a sum for a service that has not yet been completed? It's unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable. read more

Today, when I dropped off a package, the owner (or manager?) was friendly and made the process speedy and efficient. That's the kind of service I expect, but after that he went way beyond the extra mile. Unbeknownst to me, my wallet, complete with cash, credit cards etc. dropped into the open padded return envelope. After driving home and realizing my wallet was gone, I returned to the UPS, found the same fellow greeting me with a smile, and showing me the package he had been preparing to return with my lost (now found!) wallet inside it. Nothing was missing, he refused a tip, and I left not only feeling greatly relieved but reassured by this very thoughtful act. read more

I had to go to this ups store to return a package that was broken during delivery. I had my pre oaid shipping label from amazon. Upon entering without any greeting or even a simple hello I was told that I have to pay .99 cents for the to TAPE the box closed. So let me get this straight, I have to pay UPS to tape a box closed that UPS damaged during shipping???? How does this make any sense, needless to say the package was not shipped I will buy a roll of tape for $1 and tape it myself before I let UPS nickel and dime me to death. What a shame read more

Paul the main employee who runs the store has always been great. One time he helped me and my company out with a rush shipment of books- we had them rush delivered last minute to an event we were hosting down the block from the store. We were frantic trying to track down the shipment. I told my coworker, call Paul at the UPS store sure enough the courier was there lost - and he directed them to our site. Today Paul called me because I received a package at the store even though I no longer have my PO box there because I had moved. He made the effort to contact me so I could get my package. Changing review . I normally have a good experience here but today was incredibly rude. Instead of helping me create a solution for my packages and Paul continuously threatened to charge me for shipping that is normally never a problem. He kept repeating that next time he would charge . That is an awful way to get repeat customers . This is for work and all I have to do is ship via express which I can because isn't coming from my bank account. Smh will not re visit this location read more

I walked into this UPS store at approximately 4:25pm on 5/20/20. There was one other person in the store with me. I was second in line. The gentleman in front of me just wanted to make small talk. He asked about Robert, a former employee at the store apparently. The clerk threw his former employee under the bus and said his boss said he was underperforming and they let him go. The man then mentioned politics in the store, and how you got to roll with it. The clerk rudely shot him down again and said there's no politics because there aren't that many employees. My turn comes and I tell him I had a package redirected here and I requested it to be dropped off here. He then starts touching my phone after i clearly showed and read the shipping number to him. He then informs me that it's delivered to my house. I then tell him, that I asked for it to be delivered here after submitting a change address request. He then gives me the same attitude that he gave the person before me. I'm not having it, so I just walk out. As I'm walking away, he says "hey chino, chinko!!" I turn around and say, "what did you call me?" He said, Chan! Your last name (i gave him both my first and last name earlier). By now there's two more people in line and I see the look on their faces for confirmation. I simply say, you'll be hearing from me. End rant. read more

I shipped a package from this store that never reached it's destination in November, so after haggling with corporate for months (it's January at this point), they finally said that the store would have to issue a refund and that a check would be distributed soon. I called to check on the status of the check and the sales agent requested an invoice of the items in the package even though I'd given them an estimated worth of $180 (two suitcases, clothes, towels, etc) during the first transaction. I told them to just refund me the cost of shipping because I was too frustrated to try to find the cost of everything in the suitcase to verify information I'd already given the store. He said a check would be issued shortly. Two weeks later (It's now March), I called and was told that the check would be ready in 5 days. Called the store again 7 days later and was told that the check was ready to be picked up. I would've appreciated a phone call alerting me that the check was ready and even better still, a more efficient way of processing and receiving refunds that didn't involve playing phone tag and waiting 5 months. read more

I showed up to the store at 7:55 AM and it was closed. Looking at the sign which said it opens at 8, I thought, "Ok, I'll just wait a few minutes". I waited until 8:15 AM and it was STILL closed. I had to run back to my apartment to leave the large package I had to send because I couldn't bring it with me in the crowded metro. Not good. read more
