The employee named Phoenix was very rude and hurtful. All I needed to do was drop off a package that was prepaid. All she needs to do is scan it with the handheld barcode scanner and a receipt will print. Very easy right? There were no other people in the store. She was clearly in a foul mood and took it out on me. I needed my package sent and need the receipt as proof to the company that I dropped off the package. I smiled and said thank you, so as to not piss her off even more. In any industry where you deal with customers, the employees really need to have some sort of training to be kind and polite (this is also a good policy for life in general right? treat others with kindness). or at least have some sort of repercussion if they are mean and treat customers like crap. The whole experience made me want to avoid this UPS store. (then I remind myself of the experience at USPS where almost 100% of the employees are grumpy and rushed, whereas at UPS only about 10% of the employees are mean, so in comparison, it's still safer to go to UPS. Just hope that Phoenix isn't working there that day). The reason for 2 stars and not 1? The package did arrive to its destination, which is the most important thing. read more

I've always had a pretty good experience here and glad to have a spot for shipping and copying within biking and walking distance from my home. But they have an employee there who, the last time I biked down, decided to make some uninvited, spontaneous comments about how "no one wanted those stupid bike lanes." I was not talking to her about anything. Hadn't even gotten to the front of the line yet! She knew I had biked there as I had my helmet in hand and had parked right in front of the store. Fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that. But respect the fact that your paying customer just biked here, safely thanks to those bike lanes. I often come here with my daughter on the back of my bike and those lanes have been a huge improvement for our family and our ability to get where we need to go safely. But that's neither here nor there. She decided to reach out and say something unkind and aggressive for no good reason. I'll bike over to the FedEx store by U Village and spend my money from now on. I'm sorry the business owner has to suffer because of this employee's poor judgement and customer service skills. read more

DO NOT come here for passport photos. Silly me for not asking the price beforehand but the going rate on the ave is about 8 dollars. Here I was charged $27 for four 2x2 photos. Save yourself a ton of money and go to the U district or Bartells. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would! This is the worst UPS location! The owner is rude and unhelpful. He will charge you for every little thing! I didn't have time to tape my box and I thought the UPS store would be happy to tape it for me but he was offensive and charged me 2.50 just for that. He also told me to print a label from his public computer and failed to mention he was going to charge me a "computer use" fee! UPS should investigate this location and, for their own sake, get new management to save their reputation. My local UPS is much friendlier, and I like it, but after this experience, I'm much more inclined to choose fedex! read more

Manager (owner?) is curt, lazy, greedy...perhaps all three. Went in with two packages to ship, one was using a corporate account, another I would pay for. Manager said "we don't accept corporate accounts". Gee I said, all the other UPS Stores were happy to take my corporate account packages. After some fumbling on the computer, same negative response. Don't know if he doesn't have the time, the energy or perhaps commissions on corporate accounts are not large enough. Got no feeling there was any desire to help with my shipments. Happy to report that 15 minutes later the UPS Store at University Village handled my corporate account and other shipment efficiently and courteously. While they all have the same name, they clearly don't have the same level of service. Avoid this one if you can! read more

The owner is incompetent and beyond rude. I cannot recall ever working with such an unhelpful and abrasive person. They are also exceptionally slow. Two cashiers working, a line of three people and it still took 30 minutes to get an envelope for UPS express. They've moved their UPS express envelopes behind the counter in the hopes that you'll grab one of their $1+ manila envelopes off the shelf. Do not give this place your business. I went in to the UPS store to ship a small gift from Seattle to Philadelphia. The clerk was extremely rude. The shipping rates and prices for boxes were not listed. I indicated that the slowest shipping speed was fine and I didn't need any bubble wrap or packing. He rang up my order at one price and then added an additional charge at the end. I asked for him to break down the price for me and he all but refused. I strongly discourage anyone from using this UPS store. It is overpriced and the service is terrible. read more

The rude owner, as many have stated before me, is yes indeed quite rude and unpleasant to interact with, but fortunately I haven't had to interact with him since my first visit a while ago. However, the services they offer are good and the other employees seem fine, especially the young Asian dude. This is the worst customer service experience I've had in my entire life. I needed a document notarized for my insurance company, Geico because my car had been stolen. I was given very specific instructions by my adjuster to not fill out the document, that Geico would fill it out and that I only needed to sign and print in the areas indicated. The document even had pointed arrow stickers that said sign or print on the lines that needed it. The Indian owner of the store had argued with me from the outset. He said the form needed to be filled out. I tried to show him my instruction sheet that said not to fill out the form but he refused to look at it. We went back and forth and then he relented. I signed and printed my name on the form and then he refused to notarize the document!!! He said he would only do it if I printed my name where it had not been indicated for me to do so. He was so argumentative and pig-headedly stubborn, first refusing to notarize then agreeing then refusing again. It was such a frustrating experience!!! I was especially upset that he forced me to fill out an area of the form where my adjuster specifically told me not to. I had already signed the form and so could not notarize it elsewhere. I had no choice but to do what he said if I wanted the document notarized. I really can't believe how horrible this experience was. I had no idea, walking into the store that such a simple thing as getting a document notarized would be so difficult. I will never go back to that store. I am so appalled at the owner's behavior. RUDE! ARGUMENTATIVE! INCORRECT! CLOSED MINDED! AVOID THIS STORE! Go somewhere else for mail & notary services. read more

I've used this store several times for shipping. They are fine for shipping things. But I had a similar experience to a previous reviewer when I tried to get something notarized. My lawyer had told me that everything was okay...but the owner/notary argued with me and wouldn't sign my legal documents. I'm going somewhere else for a notary. Also, in my experience, they do not take packing peanuts as a previous reviewer had stated. read more

The disturbing thing is when I called for instructions on how to send a package to this location from another UPS location, NOBODY informed me there would be a receiving fee. I frequently use this UPS store to ship gifts, do returns etc. The owner is so incredibly nice and the service is consistently good with many different employees. They are well trained and very friendly and professional. I always do my holiday gift shipping from here and even though they are crazy busy that time of year, they are friendly and make it as easy as possible for the customer. I needed to return a textbook rental and it was the last day to ship before being charged extra, so I hopped on my bike and rode to the UPS Store on 65th. I ended up crashing my bike on Ravenna, and enterred the store dissheveled and torn up. I then realized that I had left my shipping label at home. Doh!! The extremely friendly woman at the counter was amazing! She was understanding, helpful and ended up making what had started off as a terrible day much better. I will continue to go out of my way to travel to this location even though it's not as close as a few others. Thank you again for being so willing to offer assistance. read more

I had a great experience here one time. But twice now I've encountered the same rude customer service representative. When I didn't bring packaging tape he was very condescending even though I was willing and offered to buy some. He suggested that it would be cheaper to pack it myself, so I went home and found bubble wrap and brought back a box. I figured the packaging would be worth it at least and if needed I could pay for a different box which he'd previously told me would be only about five dollars. So when I returned he was condescending again about the fact I had not yet wrapped the item. I hadn't done so because I wanted to see what kind of box we should put it in. And this time I even brought my own tape. He wrapped it all up, told me the price using one of their boxes, then said they could not insure it because I was using my own packaging. It's obviously a breakable, expensive item that I would need insurance for. Yet he didn't tell me this the first time. So I decided to go somewhere else to get this figured out and hopefully receive friendlier customer service. read more

I had a bad experience too, although the worst experience was actually not with the manager. I had to cancel shipment on an item, and I brought both the receipt and the original packaging. Admittedly the situation was a bit confusing, since there were two ups labels on the package (the one I had bought so that my equipment could be returned to me, which was not used, and the one that was actually used because they missed that there was a label already attached). But the young employee I dealt with seemed not to believe me from the beginning, and made me explain what happened multiple times. Then, after giving me the refund, I asked for the receipt back, because it had another item on it, and I need the receipt to get reimbursed. He said he needed the receipt for their records which is fine, but when I asked to take a picture for my records he said 'I better not in case you try to use it.' i'm sure he was just trying to be careful, but he apparently took lessons in customer seervice from the management. If you can use another store I would. read more
