I go in and tell the employee I'm there to buy a lab manual for XYZ class. They always have them pre-printed so they just ring you up. This was the first time I purchased something outside of a lab manual. I wanted to print some invitations on card stock. I'd never done anything like this before so there were hiccups with my order. The employee was very patient and kind to me. He walked me through the entire printing process. He asked what paper I wanted, the dimensions, how many copies, and how to send them what I wanted to print. It took me a moment to format my initiations correctly for them to print, but he was very patient. Before printing on card stock, he printed my invitations on regular copy paper so that I could see what they looked like and make sure I was satisfied with how they looked. After my order was complete, he told me I could cut the invitations. Had he not told me this, I would have walked home and cut all my intimations by hand, struggling to cut straight lines. I appreciated him so much for letting me know they had a paper cutter! I worked with this company 3 different times and gave the same exact request on the website, however, each time I got a different product. The communication with the employees also kept getting weirder and weirder. They gave me a price quote the first time I worked with them. The second time they asked me to call them on the phone to discuss the details of the print job. They then asked me to come in the store to verify the product. I went to the store and brought the product from the first time as an example. We did a test print and it looked pretty good. Then when I picked up the product it was on a completely different type of paper??? It just seemed like I wasted a lot of time going into the store. This most recent time was probably the weirdest experience I've ever had working with a print company. I sent in my quote and received an email that just said "ready". ???? No confirmation of receiving the file, no price quote, nothing. I went to the store (online it says they closed at 9pm but apparently they close at 8pm now), picked up the product, and of course it was printed on a different type of paper than what was expected. When I told the employee I had a previous price quote they called the boss to clarify. They eventually honored it BUT instead of $52 the employee inputted $54 thinking I wouldn't notice??? Idk it all just seemed lowkey shady to me. Overall the company works fast and is cheaper in comparison to other places I've worked with. But with weird communication and questionable actions, I don't think I'd go back. Also I've used these prints to giveaway as concert freebies, and one time I heard someone laugh at how the image was blurry I don't think it was that bad but it definitely was a little fuzzy, and that was embarrassing lol read more

Most of the time, I have had a good experience here. The staff is well informed and the quality is high. But this time, I was on a budget and needed to watch my totals. I didn't catch his name, but the more mature indian guy there sold me $90 more than I was quoted, told me everything would be itemized on the receipt (it wasn't), and after sorting the files (which he said he wouldn't charge me for) - charged me for everything. These guys are absolutely amazing! They printed programs for an event for us, and even though there was a small mistake they fixed it promptly and made the moment right 1000 times over! I needed a 12x18 poster scanned and printed larger. Most places can only scan up to 11x17, so I came here. It cost half what it would have at Kinko's, but it came out with the ink printed in chunky lines instead of solid colors. The associate didn't offer to have me look at the print when it was done, and to be fair, I didn't ask to look at it closely, either. But I would have rather paid more for better quality. read more

I love this place! I'm a local graphic designer and also own a booth at the farmer's market. I get all of my signage, cards, and prints here. They are always so friendly, helpful, and quick with orders. I was recently in a rush to print a large number of art prints for an art show and Byron helped me resize all my prints and make sure they were adequate for printing. He spent so much time with me making sure the bleeds were good for print and taught me about file sizing for print, as well as the CMYK printing vs. the RGB color of a computer screen. I have been here several times to print posters. I have had great customer service all times. Last time I was at this store to get a last minute poster printed. The owner was very helpful and even though they were about to close the store they took time to show me a preview and made sure to get the poster printed without rushing it! The printing took about 1 hour (mostly due to having lots of images) and they kept the shop opened till it was done!! i was very impressed by their customer service and friendly attitude. Horrible customer service from the Indian man working behind the counter. All I was doing was picking up some materials I needed for a class. I asked for the materials. He grunted, and threw down the materials on the counter. After running my credit card, he also just threw that down on the counter. Literally. I know it may seem like a small thing, but it seemed like he literally did not a give a shit, at all. I saw him treating other customers in the same fashion. Rude service when I came in to ask a question about printing the dude was talking on the phone and didnt even answer my question until HE was DONE. There are other print shops on the ave buddy and I have no need to give you my business! Plus they are scam artists they charged me over $100 for a crappy booklet they just put together for one of my classes at the UW and it was not even that nice. Basically just a punch of plain paper with a cheap plastic spine. You probably wouldnt even pay that much just printed it yourself. I went in here yesterday to make some simple color copies. Little did I know they would cost more than anywhere else and be lesser quality than I've seen before. The guy behind the counter seems like he doesn't care at all to get you what you want. He's not rude really, just seems completely uninterested and bleh. So I ask him about the copies, he says he has to do them himself. Okay, no big deal. I told him they were important and that quality was an issue.. It must have gone in one ear and out the other. He did all the copies one after the other and then brought them to me. They came out okay but the paper was bad and half of them had yellow streaks through the picture, so those were unusable. Oh, also, I had 12 copies done and he charged me for 14. Nice.. I thought about going back and asking for a refund but whatever.. I will not be going back there. read more

Tried to use their self service computers one time, and asked for help with printing to the right printer and to make sure it would print on the right side (complex print job). They were not busy but the office person was on the phone. I waited a few minutes and tried to flag the person over several times, but they didn't come (even after acknowledging I was there). The person finally comes over, I have to explain it several times before the person understood what I wanted printed, and when it printed it wasn't right. They then almost tried to charge me for it! After their mistake, they tried to charge me for it - because it's "their policy that I'm responsible for all printing I do". Screw that, it wasn't me that printed it! The only redeeming thing I know about this place is they had a convenient set of tables and paper cutters so I would get some work done there before heading back. Horrible attitude, horrible service. I've been here to have posters and flyers printed for a clubs I am part of at the UW. The service lacks a bit though. Every time I have come in, the man working behind the desk is on the phone which ends with me sitting there trying to wave down his attention to have things printed. I once went here an an hour and a half before closing time and the man ignored me for a good 25 minutes talking on the phone. Then when he finally got around to helping me, and realized what I wanted to get done was going to take 45 minutes (150 mini flyers printed in color with 7 cuts) he complained that I was taking too long and was pushing his closing time. I don't go here anymore. Head down a block next door to the Ram, the service is way nicer and the people a lot more accommodating. read more

I've never had any major problems printing here, but the customer service is quite awful. The man behind the counter (the owner, I presume) is consistently rude. He always seems bothered to help his own clients. When I went in this afternoon to print off some documents, there was a problem connecting to the printer, so the guy printed it off himself. He didn't ask what I wanted printed or how I'd like it printed... which seems fairly important (and basic) in his business. He automatically printed everything off single-sided, meaning that I'm left with a pile of papers that's twice as large as I expected. Not a huge deal... but still annoying to have to pay for something you don't actually want. When I went to pay, he continued yelling at an employee over the phone without saying even a word to me throughout the rest of the transaction. Again, nothing huge, but the customer service is clearly lacking. read more

This printer helped me when I was in a hurry, but didn't cut clean, straight lines along the edge of my poster. Kind of off-kilter. Knowledgeable about printing, likable guy. But this morning at 7:43 the sign in the window says "open at 7:30" but the lights are off, doors are locked, and no one is home. Not terribly professional, Copy 'n Print. read more

I did a binding for my thick horn book, is so much cheaper than the one near the U Bookstore. I felt I got ripped off by the last print shop. The owner here is very nice, he generally let me use his phone to call my friend when I lost my cell phone. Don't know why the rate is only three stars. read more

I had a very positive experience with this store. I had a poster to be printed by 10 am and didn't want to do it for the first time that very morning, so I called up the store the day before. The owner asked me to email him a test pdf file, so that he could confirm that the printing would be okay- I think this was very generous of him! The next morning, I simply emailed him my poster pdf, and he emailed me back in 20 minutes saying it was done. The poster itself was very clean and nice. I just wish printing a poster was not this expensive, though. It cost me $55 + tax = $60 for a 36" X 48" poster. I am assuming this is the standard price, so won't deduct a star for that. read more

My only interaction with this place is picking up lab/course manuals for school. They are professional and no nonsense, and get the job done just as well as the other print shops. The man who usually works the counter can be terse, but he's just getting the job done. If you offer him some kind of interaction, he will reciprocate. If you say nothing, he will say nothing. There aren't enough good things I can say about this shop. My fiance and I went to Professional Copy 'n Print to print out our wedding programs and other wedding materials. We went at the end of the day on a Friday night, and we were treated so incredibly well. The manager made us feel like we were his only customer, and printed out multiple versions of each of our materials on their nicer paper options so we can see what they'd look like before we did a bulk order, and he gave us all the samples for free. He patiently helped us trouble shoot some layout challenges, and stayed late so that he could get us our our order, and made us feel like he was genuinely happy to be helping us each step of the way. Such a helpful and warm printing experience, and the end product looked amazing! We went to this store just because it was open and near our home, not really caring where specifically we'd go for a printing job. After this customer service experience and end result, I don't think I can ever go anywhere else for printing. A truly wonderful neighborhood shop. read more

These guys suck. They have the rudest employees of any of the Ave copy shops, and the same a-hole employees have been there for like five years. I have no idea how they're still in business with their ridiculous prices and awful attitude. Also, they conduct zero quality assurance, as 1) they misprinted 25% of the graphs in one of our class's syllabus and 2) don't even bother to clear the paper dust off of the syllabi when they spiral-bind them, meaning annoying paper dust ends up everywhere all over our stuff. read more

The customer service here is great, both the staff and the owner. I don't advise trying this but I was once able to print a poster needed for a class presentation 10 minutes before the class itself started. I was panicking but the staff helped me get it done once they realized what a bind I was in! Ideally that poster should have been sent to printing a week in advance, so don't try to do what I did! I've also bought foam core (suitable for backing 3ft posters on easels) here, and that worked out perfectly. I've also had really great customer service from the staff and owner on other occasions. Both of them clearly cared about making sure I got something worthwhile for my money. Knowing they have a heart and a conscience is enough to earn my repeat business. read more

Came in for passport photos and was helped within ten seconds of opening the front door the Indian guy was taking my picture....service is pretty friendly. Took only two mins to print out my photos and for only 8 or 9 bucks for two....that's relatively cheap compared to other places for passport photos although these pics weren't that great in quality....oh well! still pretty good! read more

I had business cards printed there and the whole experience was dreadful. First they had very limited paper options, so I had to get my own and come back. When I was leaving, they asked me to leave my artwork and I did. When I came in a week later with my paper, they had misplaced my artwork, actually asking me to come behind the counter to help look for it - through drawers of disheveled papers and miscellaneous CDs. After about 15 minutes, I left and it wasn't until later on that they called and said that they had found it. When I went back in for the third time to place my order, I asked for MATTE finish on the color and explained that this was crucial. They said this could be done no problem and I even had them write it on the work order. When I picked up the cards, the printing was semi-gloss. When I showed them they said that it was matte. The cards were obviously not matte and were almost glossy (on matte paper which looks stupid). Then he said there was no way to print without a slight gloss, which is not true (I've had cards printed for 15 years). When I called him on that, he said that he his printer only printed gloss and non-glossy and he would show me that he pushed the non-glossy button on the printer, like that would make me happy. Anyway, I paid and took my cards but am totally unhappy with the finished product and will never go back again. The final product was EXACTLY the same as what I rejected at Office Max a week earlier. I only paid here because this seemed like a owner-run business and no a franchise. I can't say anything about the copy portion of the business, but there were seemingly happy UW customers in there, so I guess they are good at copying. read more

This is a fantastic print shop that I would highly recommend to anyone. I had a 12-page concert program that needed 130 copies printed with a 24 hour lead time (due to my taking so long to create the program). They did a wonderful job, ahead of schedule, and it looks great. The price was incredibly low, especially with the quick printing. They are a bit more pricey on printing, but they sell almost all the texts UW professors tell you to order from. The customer service is okay, they were a bit robotic over the phone and hung up instantly I finished my last question. I would say try to call Ave and Rams to see if it's available and cheaper. The place has been in business since 1978. From as much as I see, it looks like a typical print shop with decent printing equipment. The reason I came here was to pickup something from an Amazon Locker named Slagle. It worked as expected and I was not bothered by anyone working at the print shop. read more

I used to go here all the time to print out readings for my class - the space is nice and new, and it's pretty conveniently located near campus. I stopped going after a bad experience though - the service had always been a little bit lackluster, but this time it was downright bad. I printed my readings off of the computer (which I'd used for all of ten minutes), and brought them over to the counter - the guy there was different from the one I usually interacted with, unfortunately, but he was enough to make me decide I wasn't going back. He charged me for use of the computer (I had never been charged before), so it was a total of about $7 and change (very expensive for the amount of paper I actually used), and then only gave me a few coins as change. When I asked for the other two dollars he need to give me, he moodily grabbed it out of the cash register and tossed it on the table! It gave me the impression that he knew what he was doing and was upset he got caught. In summary - I think this place will try to cheat you if they can (at a minimum by charging you for things you shouldn't have to be charged for) and their service and amenities are really not worth the risk. The service at this shop was excellent. My team members and I were at UW for a Business competition, and the people at the store were very helpful as we needed to print out posters, business cards and brochures for the competition. Arthur was especially helpful, reformatting our designs and posters and printing samples so we could see what our designs looked like. I had a very good time with them and would recommend them. Plus, they are open till 10pm, meaning you have a lot of time to go in and get your work completed. read more
