I love the staff, they help my photographer friend all the time with his prints, and also offer space for his shows.

Somehow the quality has gone down, while the prices have gone up (no free shipping for orders over $100, for instance). Several months ago I ordered a large framed print of a high resolution digital image (65 MB) that I bought from/off of alamy.com. The saturation was inadequate, resulting in a print that did not match the intense coloration (sapphire blues and deep orange yellows) of Van Gogh's "Starry Night" (MOMA). Then a month ago I ordered a smaller canvas print. The colors diverged wildly from the original digital print, almost different hues for the sky. The image is blurred, as if some photo-mechanical problem had occurred in the production process. Furthermore, there is a conspicuous fold in the lower left where the frame bar had creased it (see photo). This was quite careless on the part of whoever either stretched the canvas to the wooden bars or packed it. For the price I paid for a single image, I could have bought a nice coffee table art book with plenty of high quality images. Very disappointed. I am torn how to rate this. They're beautiful and lovely, but read on.. I purchased a groupon in December for stretch and staple, and ordered a 22x16 canvas. It was BEAUTIFUL!! I purchased another groupon in June, and also ordered a 22x16. It was done quickly and it was BEAUTIFUL. My only complaint is that the 2nd one is about an inch wider and an inch taller than my original canvas purchase..despite having ordered the same size. My plan was to have them displayed side by side but now I can't because the second one is awkwardly slightly bigger than the first. Awkward. read more

Ordered a canvas for my boyfriends birthday. He opened it straight from the shipping box so we saw it together for the first time. The canvas was beautiful, just what I imagined. The website is easy to use. I would recommend the mirrored side. At first I hadn't ordered the mirrored and done of my image was cut off in the mock up. I'm happy to say Stretch and Staple staff let me add it on so none of my original image would be cut off. Tend staff was super friendly and quickly responded to any questions I had. I'm going to start out by saying, I like to give good ratings where ever possible. I do not wish to tarnish anyone's reputation or negatively affect someone's livelihood if at all possible. However, I would not do business with Stretch & Staple again. My experience was one big mess. I uploaded my pics at the end of February, using a Living Social coupon. I never received any kind of confirmation email, or notification that my canvases were done. This worried me, but I'd read from another reviewer that he was fairly happy with his prints, but he'd never received any kind of notification. So I wasn't expecting much in form of communication. I needed these canvas photos for my husband's surprise party. On March 5, two plus weeks after I'd uploaded them I emailed Taylor and this was the response I got- "Your custom canvas print from Stretch and Staple undergoes a three stage production process that can take up to three weeks. However, we try to produce them in under two whenever possible. It is important to remember this is a custom product, so unlike the majority of items sold online that are sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped our prints are handcrafted and made to order which is why they take a little longer to produce. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but I assure you our prints are well worth the wait. We will have you finished up later this week or early next week, and at that time we will send you a completion email." I then informed him I really, really needed them by that Friday, because I was throwing my husband a surprise party and I was planning to use them as decoration for that. They were prints from our Hawaii trip and I was throwing a Hawaii 5-0 party. His next response was very brief, he said "Okay." So I thought that meant they would get done and I could pick them up. However, I never heard back saying they were done. So I gave up and uploaded the same pictures to Costco to the less impressive poster board method since they'd have them done for me the next day. I got busy and figured I'd pick up the canvas eventually. Towards the end of March, weeks after this party occurred I finally had some free time to contact him/pick them up, so I messaged to make sure they were ready for me. I got a response on the 28th saying this "We are showing that these were printed and picked up. If you didn't pick them up I am not sure what happened, but we will get new ones done for you ASAP." Five days later I got a notification that they were done. So, I'm wondering, what happened to the fact that these things can take up to three weeks to do, or even two? I am sooo not buying that they accidently gave my photos to someone else. I think someone would notice if they didn't get their own. When I went in finally the other day to pick them up he showed them to me, my name was written on the outside. I don't think they went to someone else, I think they were never printed in the first place. I am assuming it was Taylor who gave them to me the other day, he was very nice, and had lovely photos on the wall that he's taken, but a business man he is not. This whole thing was a stressful experience and in the end I was not impressed by my photos, they seemed rather dull and I've gotten much better from Costco without the hassle. read more

For my anniversary i wanted to get a print on canvas of where we met. I spoke to several places down here in San Diego, and they were rude and unhelpful. I am so happy with the canvas pieces that I have done at Stretch and Staple. First canvas was a gift from a friend (groupon) and I was hooked from then on. I have done a total of 6 images, and I just placed an order for my 7th. I'd like to make a note about the 7th image. I wanted to do it at 16 X 22" size. Taylor sent me an email indicated that I would not be pleased with the image blown up that large. That's cool. But what was even better? After posting original comment on August 3, received notice of UPS number by email. Received the print on August 7. Very Disappointing. Colors are flat, does not have same saturation as digital file or 8x10 on home printer. Will not be hung in my home. read more

I just picked up my second order of canvas prints from Stretch & Staple, and I'm incredibly happy with the results. This latest one was a large landscape portrait of my outdoor, nighttime, wedding on Lake Union (reflections on the water) with the Seattle skyline (lots of lights) in the background and lots of guests. So, as you can imagine, there was a ton of detail in this photo and I was concerned that it wouldn't turn out as well as I had hoped. Well, I was wrong. It turned out WONDERFULLY. I submitted my order online, and had the option of allowing the kind fellas there to use their professional talents to adjust the light or colors of the original photo if needed. I'm not sure what they did, but it couldn't have turned out better. I used a Groupon the first time, and returned again because I was so impressed. Quite literally, just as the title states and then some. Joel took customer service to the extreme. I work retail and this is what customer service is truly about. I ordered a print from them last year and it came out fantastic. So I decided to go with them again this year cause the quality of the work was truly exceptional. The picture that I wanted done had some quality concerns and there were some adjustments that needed to be made. Joel and I emailed back and forth a couple times and he was able to make the corrections to my photo and it came out BEAUTIFULLY! I was so impressed! These guys really know what they are doing. I needed to get my canvas print in a BIG hurry since we are going to use it as our guestbook at our wedding. I contacted the company and was quickly replied to by Taylor. This was such a great purchase!! Our canvas (36 x 30") turned out absolutely beautiful and is extremely high quality. I accidently sent in the wrong image to have enlarged and I was so impressed with the customer service that I received. Not only were they so accommodating as I sent in several other images, but I received feedback about the resolution not being high enough to get a quality print. I got a canvas via Groupon and immediately screwed up my order, uploading the wrong image. After not being able to back up the process, I went ahead and ordered another with the correct file, sending an email to Stretch and Staple about the error. They were very friendly and helpful in removing the first charge. The canvas arrived damaged, apparently by UPS and again Stretch and Staple was very helpful, immediately starting a new canvas and sending it a couple days later.
