This stall sells original paintings, black and white drawings post cards, and also colored painting post cards. I couldn't afford the original art work but snatched around 20 of the colored painting post cards at 60 cents each! Love these so much and gave them away as souvenirs - my friends and co-workers loved them as well! I highly recommend supporting this stall.

We had lunch at Ba Bar at U-Village then came to the gallery to walk off our lunch and take in a lot of interesting, diverse art. The gallery now offers FREE admission to everyone (thanks in part to 4Culture), whereas before it was only free to UW students, faculty, and staff. What I like about the Henry is the curation. They always have intriguing and interesting exhibits that are grouped well and have just enough art pieces for you to see and take in without getting overwhelmed. The space is clean, well lit, and pretty minimalist. Also like that they have a cute little cafe, City Grind, with both indoor and outdoor seating. On this visit, we were impressed by the exhibit by Diné artist Eric-Paul Riege (b. 1994, New Mexico). Riege's tactile sculptures of jewelry and other objects were HUGE and a cool sight to behold. A sign said that some sculptures could be touched gently which I fully took advantage of because these giant soft sculptures just called out to be touched. It's a terrific exhibit and is showing until October 25, 2026. Go see it while you can!

What I thought was just ordinary was extraordinary once I seen through the lens of those glasses! I was amazed and just captivated by the beautiful work done by the artist. After I spent what seemed like forever looking at the artwork I began to explore the other amazing pieces. There is so much to see wall to wall. I had to pull out my glasses to see some of these pieces up close. I am so lucky to have my daughter who sees what I don't see. I bought my very 1st sage. I have actual Helenite from the Volcanic Eruption of Mt. Helen in 1980. I have stickers and other very amazing finds. Jack was amazing so please say hello for me when you visit. Tell him I found Mi Casa! Go check out this place. I wish we had more time to explore.

I have no pictures because I would not want to infringe on her unique product. Upon entering we were eagerly greeted and provided glasses to view her art. By using light frequency the art will take on movement such as a painted heart appearing to beat. She leans into powerful themes from nature to nurture and her pieces are stunning. While extraordinarily elaborate full wall pieces may be outside the means or accessibility for all of us - I know personally I lack the wall space - but never fear because she has a variety of other products to capture her work from postcards to apparel. I was very grateful we stopped in because it was a very cool place.

Visited the Seattle Asian Art Museum to check out the powerful exhibition featuring the Kondō…read moreceramic lineage! ​The mesmerizing pieces in these photos and videos are by Kondō Takahiro, a third-generation master artist from a prestigious Kyoto ceramic family (grandson of Living National Treasure Yūzō Kondō). ​His signature technique, "Gintekisai" (Silver Mist Glaze), combines glass, silver, and gold to create these incredible, glistening droplets that look like real water beads frozen on porcelain. ​Reflecting on themes of human existence, nature, and rebirth following the 3.11 earthquake, these meditative ceramic sculptures and video installations were truly powerful and breathtaking to experience in person.

The Duwamish longhouse is an event space you can rent. A fair sized parking lot is behind the…read morebuilding. Located on a busy road, it's easy to drive past without noticing, but inside is the history of Puget Sound and the indiginous people who live here. There is no fee to enter. At first I thought it was a gift shop, but several displays with artifacts and photos are to your right. There is a lot of information regarding the original topography, before civil engineers rerouted rivers and installed dams. It also documents how this activity contributed to the demise of some Duwamish people who relied on these waterways for food.. Artifacts include hunting and fishing gear, hand made baskets, herbs used medicinally and fibers used to make cloth are on display with information on how they are used. Very interesting. A lesson on living off the land. Inside the longhouse are photographs and a canoe you can checkout. This longhouse is built as the communal longhouses of the past were with an elevated platform around the edges that would have been used for sitting and sleeping. It's a beautiful space. After we read all the info (there's a lot of info) and looked at all the artifacts we browsed the gift shop and made a few purchases. They have a variety of artisan made products including beautiful blankets, jewelry, note cards and wall art among other things. We chatted with the staff member as we made our purchases. She answered a few questions we had and we chatted about family. She was very pleasant. This is a good stop for learning local history and purchasing local art.

If you live in south Seattle then you know well about the proximity of the Duwamish tribal lands…read more(right under your feet) and that the longhouse, where many events are held, is nearby. We had never gone until this past weekend, though, when they held a craft fair. The longhouse is located very near the industrial port area, on the opposite side of Marginal Way, and is very nicely built (wood) yet small. There are two rooms, that we know. The first houses a museum of sorts. In the second was where they put the crafts and behind that is a small kitchen where they were selling a few items, including the hottest item (basically everyone came for this), the frybread. We felt honored to be hosted by the Duwamish. We picked up a beautiful beaded hummingbird. The reason I do not give five stars is because the space was so small, which made browsing the crafts very difficult. Normally I would have liked to learn so much more about each vendor and their items yet here you were lucky if you could even squish close enough to see or buy anything. A couple of vendor spots were less populated, I think because what they had on offer was less of an "easy" sell - gorgeous ledger art and handmade drums. Recommend a visit.

Very small, but interesting museum about the Holocaust and citizens of Seattle who were impacted by…read morethe Holocaust. Check their hours carefully - currently, they're only open on Sundays and only until 4PM. There also isn't a lot of parking around, but if you park at the Amazon Spheres, it should be free and only a short walk away. When you show up, you have to get past a security guard. Then there's a 25 min intro video that shares stories about the Holocaust from the Seattle citizens who went through it. There aren't a lot of displays and I think a person could reasonably get through the museum in maybe 1.5 hours including the intro video. While the museum is small, it was a good time of reflecting and hearing the stories shared by survivors. There's also events that seem to happen at the museum including every month, a Holocaust survivor is around to answer questions.

FYI: The first Sunday of every month, a Holocaust survivor visits the museum. Though I didn't get the chance to meet him, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn and hear firsthand from someone who lived through these horrific events. I love that they are located so close to the Olympic Sculpture Park and the pier. I second guessing…read moremy plans to check out Sisko Gallery on such a stormy day but I'm glad I stuck to my decision. They were showing Sue Perry's "Changing TImes" and the industrial feel of the gallery makes it so complimentary to many of her paintings. The gallery is structured in a way that makes it feel cozy and intimate -- kind of like in a home gallery -- unique from most art galleries with large, blank, empty spaces. They also had some of Charles Emerson's work which I truly adore. I met the owner John Sisko himself who was very knowledgable -- and generous with his knowledge -- about the Seattle art scene and culture. I discovered that he personally knew many Seattle artists himself like the amazing Patti Warashina. Her Midnight Masquerade from ca. 1970 was displayed and I simply couldn't stop admiring it. I find it funny that their website listed Daisy the dog as "staff." She's a highly energetic greeter who isn't afraid to get friendly with you. I was the only one at the gallery during my visit, and John's hospitality and warm welcome on my first visit here made it feel like I was at a private showing. Too often art gallerists are cold and dismissive to young visitors, but you know a true artist and art professional when he engages you instead. Sisko Gallery will now be on my list of Thursday art walk must-gos!
