So I've been here before for the ever-so-fun (and required) course packs for class. That is usually not something I want to rate a store on because it's a crazy busy line and it's never fun to have to fork over that money when you know you can't sell it back for anything. (Or at least, I don't think you can?) The other day I came in to get some non-school copies done. The guy working was helpful, even though he seemed to automatically resort to them making my copies instead of letting me use the self-service machines (which would have been even cheaper for me). Oh well. I got my file uploaded, sent it to the printer, picked out the color paper (which is what cost depends on), and printed my project on 7-cent green paper. It was a good experience and I was happy because the cost was cheaper than... the other place we've recently used for printing. Next time I'll have to remember to use the self-service, though, because I would have been able to use my Student Survival Kit coupon that would have lowered the per-page costs to 4 cents. (Both are cheap, but it adds up and I'd rather save some $ where I can!) read more

Wow! I am so impressed with this place. I needed to have business cards printed super last minute so I looked-up places on Yelp. The first place (also on the ave) that I called quoted me 40 dollars with a 10 dollar rush fee for 200 single-sided business cards. The owner kept trying to convince me that it's the lowest price around (it's not) since they have to rush the order. No thanks. I decided to give Rams a call. Byron answered the phone and told me they could get it done in about 30 minutes and will not charge me a rush fee. The price was also very reasonable (WAY cheaper than the 1st place). I was sold and sent him my design right away via email. He called me after a few minutes letting me know of an issue with my design. He gave me some suggestions and told me that he will take care of it for me. When the cards were done, Byron gave me a call again to inform me! I was just so impressed with his attention to detail and excellent customer service. He definitely went above and beyond! Long story short, I highly recommend this place. Rams has gone above and beyond for me multiple times. I'm an artist and I am just beginning the process of figuring out how to share my work via small booklets and prints (so far I've needed nothing over 12x18), and have had to rush orders on small print runs several times. Not only have they been consistent, communicative, and quick with me, they always work with me when I ask for reprints (sometimes things don't quite come out right) or specific cuts. In a word, I can sometimes be particular! But despite that, they've always been helpful and work hard to make sure things come out right, which I deeply appreciate. DO NOT COME HERE FELLOW STUDENTS!!! I swear this place is shady as hell and the people are scam artists! I freaken called them weeks ago to see how much it would costs to print a poster and they said around $40 and when I came today they tried to originally charge me $55!!! Then asked me how much I was willing to pay when I didn't JUMP on their "BARGIN"! The final quote was $44!!!! The guy even told me that they will be the cheapest option in the area, yea right I went right across the street to Ave Copy Center and paid only $30! Do yourself a favor and go there instead! I dont care what quality they claim to produce I've seen other posters they made for other students in my department and its NOT even that amazing! Plus do we students even give a dam about what quality a poster is.... DONT go to Professional Copy n Print either I swear that place has ties to this place... I needed something urgently printed today. They're supposed to be open until 10pm on weekdays, but at 9:30pm, they were already closed. This isn't the first time they've been closed early. I've came before 2 hours before close and the place was already locked. And another reviewer noted that they don't open on time either. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because when they do decide to follow their posted hours and be open, they're pretty decent. read more

This is a hard one, because I had two great experiences with one employee and one not-so-great experience with another employee. Let's start with the good: - LOVE the giant map on the wall - The first two times I got pretty prompt and attentive service, despite their being MOBBED. - Everything was done or re-done exactly to my specifications - The prices were unbeatable Now, the bad: My 3rd trip I went in for essentially the same service as the first two times: I wanted high-quality color prints on card stock. Actually, the 3rd trip should've been easier, because I didn't need B&W text on the backs of the color photos and only needed 1 page instead of multiple documents. This time I was told I had to use a computer to set up the printing myself. So I did. Then I waited. Then I got the help I needed to select the correct printer and settings. Then I waited. Then the print came out badly. Then I reset. Then I waited (noticing a pattern?!) In the end, the guy tried to charge me DOUBLE THE PRICE I'd paid days before for 1/10 of the copies. Most of that charge was "computer time" spent, yep, WAITING. It makes no d*mn sense to charge someone for computer time when what they want to do is print, especially when there's no one else waiting to use the computers! To be fair, the guy took my outcry in stride and lowered the price, but it was still WAY higher than I'd paid the other day (because he still charged me for some computer time). Also, to be fair, I think this computer time thing is their actual policy and the previous guy was just being nice. But hey, CHANGE THE STUPID POLICY and BE CONSISTENT ABOUT YOUR PRICES. You don't offer anything the other guys don't, so if you can't excel in price and customer service, I'll go across the street or around the corner. read more

Went to have my poster printed on Monday and came to pick it up on Wednesday, they totally forgot about my poster and didn't print it. So I waited for 20mins to have it printed. The man there didn't know how to fold my poster properly after it finished printing and left some wrinkles on it while folding. This pissed me of so bad. What made me more mad is he asked me to pay again. I have paid on Monday already! And it costs me 65 bucks. I will never come back to print again. Bad service! They didn't offer any compensation at all! read more

After spending hours with FedEx Kinko's, they called us and said they can't do the numbering we asked for. This really put us in a bind for a time sensitive project. We found Ram copy center by doing a blanket Google search and was able to make an appointment on a Sunday. This copy store is very conveniently located next to the UW, so that homework assignment you composed on your phone on your bus ride to campus can quickly be converted to a word doc and printed out, for the low low price of $0.10/sheet. Huzzah! read more

Went in with a poster to get laminated. The machine broke midway through the process. I'm not blaming them for a machine breaking because hey these things happen. But since they ruined my poster I asked for a refund. They argued with me about the price I paid for the poster (30$) and then told me I would have to prove it. After I looked it up online they told me to come back in a week because they were going to try to repair the machine. A week later I called them asked what was going on. They said "o yeah we couldn't get it fixed" (were they going to call me?) and that i could come get a refund. They only gave me 27$ which kinda pissed me off because i waisted my time in the first place going to this store only to have them not pay me the proper amount because it was cheeper on another website. I will not go here again and I will advise all of my friends and associates to stay away. read more

They are the cheapest shop on the Ave. I usually go there for course materials, to print papers and to get items laminated. I highly recommend this business for your printing and laminating needs. This is a followup to the 2/12/12. The service and price was excellent! I called all over town to price a 38 page fax that I needed to complete for a mortage refi. There was a lot riding on this, and it seemed that no store offering fax services were interested in anything other than a dollar per page gouging. None, until I contacted Rams in the U Dist. The job was completed for a very budget-needed price and the staff person there was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough. Take all your fax and printing jobs, big and small, to them. They deserve your business. read more

I love this place. Seriously. You might think that all copy centers are the same. Not true. The folks at Ram's are super friendly, helpful and generous. I am the kind of person that always has computer questions and general difficulties with technology. The people here have gone above and beyond to help me out, even when things are busy. Times when I have accidentally printed copies that came out the size of wallet photos, or printed 80 versions of something that I only wanted 8 of, they let it go. I have been an infrequent customer of Rams for 10 or more years. In every case, their service was prompt, accurate, and courteous. My jobs have been copies of presentation handouts and business promotional material. This morning I emailed them a presentation handout file with print instructions. Thirty minutes later they emailed me back that the 500 page, double-side printed order was complete - and their price was half of what a national chain quoted me! When I went in to pick up the order, Bahtiyor turned around and picked it up; he knew exactly where it was. They are happy to discuss your job over the phone or in person; I like the personal service. There are several copy shops much closer, but I continue to patronize Rams because they do it right. read more

As far as the copy shops on The Ave go, this one is definitely the best. I used to only come here to get my course packets and it was always a hassle because of the long lines (totally not their fault, very hard to cater to hundreds of students a day in their small, family-owned shop). Once I started coming here to print off my essays and make copies for myself, I realized just how helpful these guys actually are. Their prices for printing are way cheaper than at the library and if you ask for a bit of a discount with a smile, they usually give you one! Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to print off their thesis and have it bound because they did mine in just a couple of minutes and it looked fantastic! read more

My teacher required me to get a text from here so I came and also asked if there were other texts I needed from UW available, and sadly they didn't, but comparing the one available to other stores, their price had me coming back. They have the texts printed out all available and organized in a neat shelf, unlike other copy centers, where they're so cheap they will only print it after you pay. Their individual paper copy pages are 6 cents each, much cheaper than the other two nearby. The guy was really friendly and offered me 5 cents each for the huge amount of pages I needed, which was a few hundred. They also bind it together for you too! I find it a lot cheaper to find the texts you needed online and print it here than going to another copy center because of the copy available. One Book (~275pages =$13.75) VS Avail Book $30 They also do other prints aside from paper print too! The only thing you need to worry about is the paper shavings you get on you if you put the book on your lap, so don't wear tights or it'll stick to you! read more
