I came here on February 5 to mail out my passport renewal. The staff member, Abner, told me to use Priority Mail since that would get my package to the Passport office in PA by February 7. However, on February 7, I saw that there was no movement on my tracking number and only the label had been created. I called in to ask for information and was told there was nothing they could do and it was out of their hands, even though it was never scanned in by USPS. I also emailed back and forth with this store manager, Paula, who was unhelpful and refused to give me a refund even though the service was not completed. In the meantime, I had to take a day off from work and drive hours to a passport agency in order to apply for a passport in person. All while, my passport, social security number and other personal information is floating around and taking a joyride around the country. Terrible and unreliable service here. Getting a form notarized is usually a pretty simple procedure, I should know being a former notary myself. This is why I was so shocked when I was asked for my business license while I was getting the form for MY BUSINESS LICENSE notarized. Then the staff member told me she wouldn't put her name on it because I can't prove this was to be my business. Then she asked me to prove it by email! Again, her only job was to verify that I am a real person signing the document and to prove I am who I am by form of state ID. (Which I was able to do) I knew something was wrong so I asked her to explain why she would need my emails, this is when she began to get frustrated, yell and piled up my belongings saying, "Take your things and get out of MY store!" Since she was not wearing a name tag and refused to give me her name I took a picture of her after she threatened to call the cops to have me thrown out. I was SO thrown off I asked what was happening, she said she didn't have to explain anything to me and reiterated that she was going to call the cops. I have used this UPS Store because it is the closest UPS store available to me open during the pandemic. The staff is universally surly. I always try to be good natured and joke around to make any experience pleasant. The people at this store ignore any pleasantries. They act as if your presence has ruined their life. Today the Saturday of the 23rd of May, in the midst of the pandemic, I walked into this UPS store wearing a mask. Mind you, I am in the high risk age group. The angry young woman working, the only employee in the store had a mask, but it was dangling around her neck. Her mouth and nose were uncovered. I kindly asked her to put her mask on, and she swore at me, telling me if I wanted her to take my package, deal with it. I reached as far as I could, handing her my box, asking for a receipt. Without looking at me, with a merciless sneer, she stretched out her arm and forced me to walk over to get the receipt. As I took the receipt, she turned and laughed in my face. I could be dramatic and say this behavior threatened my life, but I know that would sound ridiculous. However, this young woman should not be allowed to work with the public in any way. This has nothing to do with COVID. The internet seems to be a problem at this site. Twice, it has been slow, impeding the ability for it to provide services. Yesterday, I waited 35 minutes in line to be told that it wasn't working; it was a simple Amazon return, one scan, already packaged. Now I have to go back and there's no guarantee. There was also only one employee on site and she was slow; everyone was frustrated and there was a line out the door. I live a few blocks away and my internet has never gone down. He worked with me to get a large document scanned and emailed and was so patient with the many documents we had sent his way. His customer service was superb and he was so helpful!!! I had a mishap with my package and accidentally chose to make the receiver sign for it. When I went to change it to just drop off, corporate UPS forced me to have the package sent all the way back to me before I could resend. I have used this store twice. The first time, witnessed a not so great employee interaction prior but not to me directly. An female employee was upset because someone can in 7 minutes before 7pm, closing to drop off a package. They had locked thw door already She was not quiet about having to help them, saying "people" are stupid and shouldn't save things to the last minute, she has a life too. It went on.... Tonight, 6:53 I came into send Amazon returned. She misunderstood what service I needed. After I had gotten everything situated and packed up she told me that I couldn't do that because it was to late. I asked her why it was before closing and if she could just please help me........from there she got crazy, screaming, calling a F-ing B----h, my white privledge did not mean she had to help me, I shouldn't have waited to the last minute. and that I she ever saw me out of the store etc. I. Not sure how to even describe what happened but it was awful and kind of scary. I started to call UPS customer service to see if I could get assistance. It angered it. She got her manager/franchise owner Brain on phone which did speak with me. He did listen and explained that now UPS systems shut down 5-10 minutes prior to closing. It was a new thing. My other UPS store does not have this problem, so it was all new to me. I would have appreciated a simple sorry... Can't send out because of the new system.. Blah blah. ...we can except package just not print. I wish Brian was a bit more managerial in terms of ensuring it would be addressed. When someone is verbally abusive and physically threatening, it is nice to think that someone of authority will put a stop to it. I am most saddened about stereotyping me and unvaluing herself. She obviously has had some very awful experiences with people and might be happier not working with people. I would also discourage threatening someone. I honestly hope she learns that not everyone feels they are privledged (and few in the working world are actually privleged) and her situation gets better. This UPS store is in a convenient location downtown near the Federal courthouse. My husband and I needed a notary for some documents and I was easily able to make a next day appointment online. Upon showing up for our appointment (we were early), Brian was very helpful and started our paperwork early. Overall, it was a seamless experience. We needed multiple signatures (cost $10 each) and had to overnight the paperwork immediately after. Such an easy experience to have all of the signatures and mailing be taken care of in one place. Would definitely recommend if you are in need of a notary or as a place to mail things. Staff is super friendly and helpful for all of your document or mailing needs. read more

My experience here Monday 8/23/21 at approximately 8:30 AM was abysmal. Here's an excellent friendly, capable alternative: The Mailbox Store 300 Lenora St., Seattle, 98121. They were great, with excellent service. I just needed to have a few items packed and shipped. I asked for the total cost, I was only provided the shipping and insurance cost, not the cost to pack. I was sending valuables and the "manager" who was helping me loosely put my items on the shelf behind him and said, "I'll pack those later." Feeling concerned about my valuable items and wanting to see them in the box with the shipping label before I left, I asked how much he was planning to charge me to pack it for me. He said ~$5. I asked if I could pay the $5 and then borrow minimal tape and packing material to pack it myself. He responded that I could not and with a wave of the arm pointing to the packing materials for sale told me that I would have to buy the materials if I wanted to do it myself, I had to purchase full roles of tape and packing material and a box which would have amounted to more than $20. And then he told me if I didn't like how he was going to do it, then he wasn't going to ship my package. I've had many things packed at UPS stores and never had them shelved until later, especially when I was insuring them for $1,000. And just like that, revenue, albeit slightly, decreased for this UPS Store on 8/23. This is the worst customer service I've received shipping a package. My options were to leave valuables sitting on a counter behind him until he "got around to it," while worrying all day long whether it had been done or not, or pay considerably more to buy a whole bunch of materials I didn't need and do it myself. The office I own in Seattle has currently been directed not to ever use this store in an effort to show the owners of this store that customer service is important for revenue and that this manager is poor at best at providing honest and good service. The store clerk, Cree, tried to trick me into buying a more expensive service (3 days shipping) by saying the Ground shipping did not pop up in her system, after I specially asked for it. At first, she just casually told me the cost is $19. However, I did my research the night before and know that the best service for me is Ground (costed $10). I was sending a package from Seattle to Portland, and the deadline is in 1 month. She used the Covid card and scared me that the Ground service is the most interrupted service, and my package - if sent by Ground - can't even get there by next month. LOL! Guess what, I did not believe her and visited my usual Capitol Hill store and have my package sent with $10 and expected delivery date is 2 days from now. Expectedly, they said what she told me "did not make any sense"! Glad I did not fall into her scam. Shame on her. read more

I usually have no issues dropping off packages here, however it has been three times now that their delivery person leaves before the 5:00 pm cutoff time for shipments to go out. I always do next-day air because I am frequently shipping baked foods and because of my work hours, I oftentimes am hurrying to this UPS location to drop off packages before 5:00 so that they can make it to their destination by the next day. Today is the third time that I make it there between 4:30 and 4:45 only to find out that the delivery person has already left. This is annoying because they have always reassured me that as long as I get my packages there by 5:00 pm that they will be able to be shipped out that day for next day air. Stop telling customers that you have until 5:00 pm to get packages in for shipment that day IF IT IS NOT TRUE. It's dishonest and messes up planning for the customers who have all the intention for their packages to get there at the date it's supposed to. Especially annoying when you pay so much for next day air but then it doesn't actually go out that day. read more

I had a mail box at this location for approximately 6 months. The customer service was amazing. But when I went to terminate, they me they charge $15/month to forward any mail, and require you to write your cc info on a piece of paper. This offers zero protection for me or my cc data from theft or misuse. Not ok in this day and age. read more

This UPS store location is right downtown. The store itself is not large, and the staff are decently friendly. However one huge issue with this store is that there is no cell service inside the store so it makes doing anything requiring Internet connection a pain in the butt. For example if you need to pull up an address, if you need to pull up a UPS shipping label from Amazon, if you need to look up anything, you will not be able to use your cell phone inside of the store. So, you have to go outside across the street to use your cell phone, or try to connect to the Starbucks Wi-Fi. Both of which are a pain, cause you to lose your place in line, and generally waste time. Of course, the staff is to clueless to realize that you had been in the front of the line, make you wait in line all over again, when you just needed to go outside to pull down some information. read more

I paid this UPS Store to "fragile pack" glassware and ship it to me. The glassware arrived broken. The solution is to have UPS come out and inspect the box on site, which is my work location, as that is the address I had it shipped to. This is completely impractical, as it is my place of work and it would be during my workday, and I am about to leave on a week long business trip. I offered to send pictures of the box and contents but apparently this is not sufficient for them. This is literally a claim for only $40. I asked if at the very least they could refund me for the $17 they charged me for the fragile packing service they did (and clearly failed at) and was told no - that UPS corporate has to come out and inspect the box in order for that to happen. This UPS franchise store is the one who did the fragile packing, so in my opinion, out of good faith they should be willing to refund my fragile pack fee at the very least. That is money that went into their pocket not UPS corporate. I went to the UPS store because I needed to ship fragile vintage glassware. I trusted that they knew what they were doing. And because they didn't, now I have wasted money, time and one-of-a-kind glassware is forever gone. read more

DO NOT RENT A MAILBOX HERE! This store keeps going from bad to worse. Since new "management" took over about a year ago, they NEVER email you when you get a package. I tell them this every time and they act like that can't be true or as I've heard more than once, "it's not our fault, it's the system" is ALWAYS their excuse. And now, they never send renewal emails either! I PAY FOR THIS ADVERTISED SERVICE!!! When I questioned this and asked why this is happening i got the same response: "It's the system. Not our fault." I asked why they continue to fail to send emails and claim "it's the system" when I've complained about it in person at least 4 times, and I was told i "can't talk to me that way." WHAT!? It used to work; it doesn't now. I am now convinced they deliberately neglect to send renewal notices to collect a late fee. I'm 100% serious. Also once I went in FOUR HOURS after USPS - not this store - notified me of a delivery there for me. They tried to argue with me like i was making it up. THEN they admitted they hadn't "gone to get them." HUH!? And FOUR HOURS LATER!?!? And for this rates have gone up astronomically over the years. read more

After waiting some minutes while he handled other customers, he called me over. Seeing my bags, he recognized me from the call. He gave me the corner for my sorting. One by one, I placed all items on the counter with their printed code. One by one, he scanned each item, generated the label, and put them separately on his work counter. It was a pleasure to watch him work and to talk with him. He asked me if I wanted receipt. Seeing how efficient he was, I had confidence that he would dispatch all items without any mix-up or delay. So I declined the receipt offer. He congratulated me on my knowledge of procedure and my method. Efficiency Another important point. While Isaac was helping me on one register, he was also helping other customers on the other register. Now this was almost a first in America. In India, this is fairly common, a server handling multiple customers at the same time. In US, I have never seen this. Either they can't do it, or don't want to, or are not allowed. Here I saw, with pleasure, Isaac doing it so well. He was so patient and helpful with his customers, that it was a pleasure to watch him, and I waited without any usual annoyance. Two ladies had some difficulty understanding the shipping steps, he patiently reworked the whole thing twice, all the while nicely explaining to them what he was doing and why. One customer had trouble with his multiple addresses, Isaac happily and repeatedly showed him how to address the packets properly. As I said before, Isaac wanted to make customers happy, and did it! As I said before, Isaac is responsive, welcoming, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, helpful, patient, methodical, and efficient. I gave him my card, told him that Amazon values Customer Obsession, and I would be happy to refer him, if he ever wants to apply. I had shipped an expensive car (over $800) part on 7/26/19 that was suppose to arrive in Alaska by 8/1/2019. I paid over $180 for shipping which included insurance! I had just checked the tracking number on the UPS tracking and it didn't show that the label was even created even though the receipt shows the tracking number. Update 8/3/2019: I've updated the ratings from 1 star to 4 stars after Marcus and Naresh was able to help quickly resolve this issue over the weekend. It turns out the wrong tracking number was given on my credit card charge receipt and they had tracked down the correct number. I plan to provide further updates after picking up the package in Alaska. Update 8/5/2019: I've updated the ratings from 4 stars to 5 stars. The package was in good shape when it arrived in Alaska. Apparently, his customer service skills had yet been delivered on the day I walked into this store in downtown Seattle. I was referred to this place by The Westin Seattle, where I was staying during my week-long visit to this city from Los Angeles. When one of Brian's staff members asked him whether the store can honor a UPS promo code that UPS emailed to me, Brian surfaced from a back room asking me in a nasty tone, "What is your issue?" First of all, an inquiry is not an issue. Everything pretty much went downhill after that. Well, one good thing did develop from my bad experience with manager Brian.
