Yelp HQ took my comment down for being honest about this places customer service so I'll post it again. I did my first out of town order with Office Max instead but I went to the UPS Walzem location first to see how the service would be & boy was I in for it. I don't recommend this location at all the his-panic workers are racist towards us copper colored individuals & will wait 5 minutes even if they aren't busy to even think about seeing if you need help. On this observed New Year's Day Monday 02 Jan, I was lucky to find this store open... as the two closest to me were not. Yes, I did drive a few miles further, but I was able to take care of my business and that's what is important. The line was long, almost out the door... but let me tell you, these guys and gals were rocking in the front and in the back... so much so that I had to write a 5 star review. Jasiel was my cashier according to receipt at 2:42pm. I had to faxes plus an Amazon return. The UPS Store - Shipping Centers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I went in to return Amazon merchandise. I used the new self service counter. I had several items that were scanned individually. I didn't want to hold up the line. I managed to do this alone. I got stuck a couple of times and needed help. The young men that were there seemed a little bothered. The store was not busy. I put the labels on the bags that were unopened. One of the men told me I wasn't supposed to have put them on the bags. He said you were supposed to used the clear bags (that were under the counter out of sight). I told him I didn't know that. The service has gone down since they opened. I use them to support local businesses. Instead of these employees being bothered by me patronizing their store...keeping them employed ...they need to work on having a better attitude and providing better customer service. read more

We moved to Converse two years ago and have used this UPS location about 20 times. Every single time the professionalism of the staff amazes me. They have a well-oiled machine here, with the numbering system and staffing levels always on par. Since my daughter moved out of town 7 years ago, I have shipped MANY packages from various UPS and FedEx locations across the city, and even a few in Corpus. This one is by far the best! read more

WORST UPS Store I am a full time RVer traveling across the USA and I called the store ahead about a week ago to check if I could have an amazon package delivered to the store. After their OK, and shipping it, I got confirmation that it had been delivered. My plans to get to San Antonio changed at the last minute and Ive been trying to get a hold of the store to have them ship it to my current address. Well Ive been trying all day long and their automated answering service keeps telling me that the voicemail is not available. When I was trying to get a hold of a clerk, he put me on hold and then got disconnected. Not only once but twice after having to give the same narrative to the same clerk. Now I am back at having to deal with their automated answering to see if I can get through again. read more

Came here to pick up a box that we diverted since we were having trouble being home to receive it. They currently have social distancing stations for people to stand on while waiting in line and apparently a max number of people they allow in the room. The staff are all wearing surgical masks. Staff were very friendly and since the box was listed under my husband's name, required his verbal okay over the phone for them to release it to me. Since I had my son with me, they also helped to carry it to my car. I thought they were very helpful. The wait time wasn't too long either. read more

The management here lacks some serious customer service skills. I've interacted with many of the employees and they are great but the older gentleman that appears to be the manager could use some training on how to communicate. Not just with customers but his staff. If he spoke to me the way he spoke to his staff we would have some problems. I've had many packages here not make it to my destination or not make it in one piece. I entered the store at 6:31 not realizing it closed at 6:30 and the manager shoo-ed me away with his hands like I was a bug. I'd rather drive to the nearest fedex than to come back here again. We had passport photos taken at this location for our passport renewal application and our application was held up because the photos taken at this UPS location did not meet the standards. We were refunded but it was not done with a smile and certainly, not an I am so sorry your passport was delayed for two months. We left disappointed. read more

Mike made my night! After a long day at work, I popped in close to closing time to ship my little sister her new laptop. The staff was friendly and very helpful as always. However, I made a mistake in my sleepy state and forgot to include my sister's apartment number. By the time I realized my mistake her package was already loaded up and on its way. I thought all hope was lost but then Mike came in for the win and called the truck back and looked through it himself for her package. He corrected the address and now I can rest easy knowing my sister is going to get her new laptop on time to start school. Thank you so much for going above and beyond for me tonight. PS. My husband and I have shipped through this store multiple times during the holidays, and at the end of the school year (graduation time) and they are always very professional, friendly, and patient. I dont recommend using this UPS store. I had a package shipped out 19 May and never made it to the receiver. I looked up the tracking number online and the status stated the package was lost, five days prior. Also the tracking information said they would contact me but I never received a phone call or email and this was five days after the package was discovered "lost". I went to the store I used to ship and they told me the package was "damage" and needed 7 to 10 business days to investigate. I told them online it said it was "lost" and not "damaged". The customer service at the front counter was not empathetic for my situation at all. The manage Savannah said she would contact me at the 7 to 10 day mark. 16 days later I go back to the store at 230pm and the manager wasnt there and was told the manager Savannah would call me the next day, she never did. I went to the store around 5pm. Savannah told me through investigation it was my fought the package was damage because the mason jars wasnt screw on tight, which caused for the liquid to deploy from the jar. However, I have sent many packages prior to and after with a different carrier and the jars are screwed on tight and bubble wrap, which was the same way I did with UPS. Also my product is a "solid"and not a "liquid". I had fragile stickers all over the box. I asked for pictures of my damaged to the package and she said the box was discarded. She then told me she was not going to argue and gave me 1 800 742 5877 to call to dispute. I started a small business and had to resend my products to my customer using USPS and had no issues using the same methods. I would like for this matter to be resolved by being reimbursed for my product and the shipping cost. However, I thought UPS would handle my packed with care however that doesn't look like that is possible. read more

I should have read the reviews first before I went to this UPS Store to mail a card to my daughter which never made it to the location. Wasn't informed that my package will be going by the US Post Office which I found out after the fact when I acquired about my package never made it to his destination. If I had wanted to ship by the US Post Office I would have never went to the UPS Store you would have thought the clerk would have informed the customer which route the package is going never happen. They made $10 for doing nothing. read more

To the UPS deliverers, when someone labels their package as FRAGILE they're obviously telling you to handle it with care. Literally every time I label a fragile item the recipient receives it broken. I use them to print out docs for kids school projects, etc. I was driving all the way to Office Max for small print jobs, I don't know why I never thought to check with them first. They have been so friendly no matter how small the job is. I appreciate their friendliness & letting me use their stapler or tape..lol. Plus it never takes more than 5min getting in & out. I'm too lazy to set up my printer so I go there fairly often to print, scan or do what ever I need to do instead of setting up my printer at home because these new printers are very irritating and not as simple as the old ones that just had a few buttons and ink lasted a last time. Thankfully I had a MUCH better experience than Erin H. I got here around noon & was afraid that I would run into the lunch crowd who were also trying to run errands like me. But there were only 2 other customers ahead of me. I was greeted by a friendly smiling clerk. (There were 3 clerks in all.). I showed up 15 minutes after they opened. There was ONE woman working and 11 people in line. She literally could not locate any packages for the first 3 people. I don't know if this was user error or the fact that the first few people didn't have a tracking number. Needless to say, she didn't ask them to step aside until they found a tracking number, instead she invested 10 minutes trying to search for each person's package. To make matters worse, the security guard was on a serious power trip. He was so worried about the door being open (because the line was literally out the door) that he was being rude to all the already annoyed customers. Awful experience. Get your stuff together UPS!!!! Looks like I'll be converting all of my future orders to FedEx. read more

I had a Company Return Shipping Label to return a package. When I went to UPS to drop off the package UPS charged me a Dollar to tape the top of the box which was about 1-1/2 feet of tape. I told the ups associate to charge it to the company account and she said that she could not charge it to the account I had to pay separately. So much for using UPS anymore, FEDEX does not charge a Dollar for about 1-1/2 feet of tape. read more

The staff here is extremely slow with no sense of urgency. I have visited this location multiple times as it is the only one in the area and each time the same experience. Other UPS stores are quick and efficient it appears the staff is not trained on how to use the UPS programs. Each visit is is over 20 minutes even for a quick Amazon drop off. This one very thin girl looked like she didn't know what she was doing and just delayed the process in helping me and then abandoned me when someone else tried to help me to go do busy work. Stood in line forever while the lady that worked here had conversations with a million customers and was then told that they couldn't get my package delivered on time because UPS had already picked up 3 minutes before. We tried to get help on how to acquire a return label. A man who works at this store had told my husband the day before that he could use their computer so that I could go into my email and retrieve the file containing the return label. That day, I wasn't with my husband. Today, we went back to the store hoping to be able to print the label or retrieve the file so that I could return this item. The man did look for the file I had tried to send him, but, it wasn't there. This man was very rude and condescending with me. He could've apologized for not being able to help. Instead, he says, very rudely, "Without the label, I can't print it." My husband had had enough and threw the business card that this man had given him the day before on the floor and we walked out. This man was, obviously, having a bad day, but, he could've had the decency to leave his bad day behind him instead of bringing it into work. We'll never go to this store for anything!! read more

Prior to the new ownership I'd stopped using this location due to the customer service. I've made three to four visits over the past six months and the new ownership has created such an amazingly positive change in the customer service experience. Everyone working wants to be there and goes above and beyond--out of their way to make sure you have, and have had a great experience. I was able to be a fly in the wall as I waited for documents to be printed. The two ladies working (one was the manager and the other had a beautiful smile and hair) helped customer after customer with the same level of care, one after another. When it was apparent that a customer was minimal English speaking the one worker made sure she did not leave without a receipt for a record of the transaction. The other lady working, who happened to be the manager, offered to assist a customer with a personal matter. I felt blessed to be able to just enjoy watching so many people be treated with kindness. I will definitely be returning as a customer. I'm sure my 13 copies won't pay the lights but they still treated me with the same high level of customer service. However, I will be a repeat customer for as long as they maintain this level of customer service. read more
