This is the second time a young man (who also works at the Damonte Ranch location on Sundays) "helped" me. The first time, he stuffed a XL sweatshirt into a tiny 5x7 envelope and rolled it up to the size of a toilet paper roll. I asked him to size up the envelope, please. He said, "It'll get there just fine." It did. But, my friend was shocked at the lack of care packaging it, and yes, the shirt arrived terribly wrinkled. By the way, his demeanor is brisk and borderline rude overriding a customer's request. That is NOT how a service provider should ever handle a customer questioning his "help". Today, I went into the So Meadows location where on weekdays I know the staff and they are amazing 5 out of 5 stars. Guess who was at the counter? Same dude. I was sending a coffee table-sized book to a friend. He tried to stuff it diagonally in a small box. When I requested that he use a bigger box, he brushed me off with a "Sure, if that's what you want". Dripping sarcasm. I was a bit intimidated, by his rudeness, so I grabbed a festive envelope that was padded from their display and asked him to use that. He instead used a white, thinly padded envelope from behind the counter. I told him it was a special book for my friend. A surprise and I didn't want it to arrive damaged. So, I very politely asked if he could get some bubble wrap around the book. I made a circular motion as a hint that I needed it wrapped around the book. He went to the back and spoke with a woman who came out and showed him to put the thinnest bubble wrap on each side of the book. Not a wrap-around in the thinnest padded, white generic envelope. I also overheard him say to her (when they were in the back) -- "she is now complaining wanting extra bubble wrap". There were only three of us in the store -- him, his co-worker and me. I was not complaining. By the way, THIS is complaining. Here's the thing. He needs to be placed far away from customers until he is properly trained in how to listen to a customer request. He should've asked -- do you want it wrapped around? Would you like a thicker bubble wrap? The woman should have asked that, too. I kept emphasizing that it is a "special book". He also needs to stop intimidating customers with his brisk, I-know-best-you-know-nothing, rushed attitude. I would remind him that without customers he doesn't have a job. I am hoping the owner sees this, and contacts me. I would be happy to provide further insight on how talking badly about customers, rushing them, making decisions for them and above all, POORLY WRAPPING a special package is not the way to conduct business. I would also like to remind the owner that most customers, upon being treated rudely, leave the business and never return or submit a complaint. I am complaining for a reason -- I have been a faithful client at the So Meadows location for years and years. Next time, I walk in and see either of these employees, I am finding another shipping place. read more

While visiting two UPS stores in North Reno yesterday and I met with utter failure. Mostly due to lack of knowledge from younger employees with attitudes. Along with lack of respect for a customer and they didn't give a darn what came out of their mouths. So with a fresh start today when I was in South Reno and that is where I found a super star manager at this location. Deanna L. Callahan took the bull by the horns when my challenge came in the door. I'm carrying a larger package and a fragile piece that sold on an online platform. I had the instructions printed out for every step needed. Then the name of the company did not show up in her register. She picked up the paperwork I had, apologized for the delay, took off towards the back and with expert critical thinking solved the problem. After that it was a breeze. I am so grateful she could help. And I believe she just earned her angel wings in heaven.... :-) read more

I've been in this UPS Store several times over the past few years - it is not one that I regularly stop in because it's further south than my location. However, every time I've been here, the staff has been professional and friendly. In fact, on my recent stop, a worker by the name of Deanna (I think, so sorry if I got her name wrong) was just the friendliest person to everyone, including myself when it was my turn. I appreciated her positive and upbeat demeanor! My days are usually busy and in this summer weather, really hot, so I appreciated this simple act by this worker. If you can't tell by my reviews, I drop off packages to UPS and FedEx locations on a regular basis, so I have literally been to most, if not all, of the UPS and FedEx locations in the area. Consequently, I get a feel for the location and its staff. Needless to say, I'd happily return here if I am in the area and need to drop off a package because I know I'd be met with a friendly face. read more

Just needed a pre paid shipping return label printed. That's it. Iv done this a 100 times, paid the 50 cent printer paper fee. But NEVER have I been charged $5.00, FIVE DOLLARS, to forward an email to their email so they can print it for me and slap it on my box? What? That is STEEP. I used to love this location. After the remodel the staff was disappointing. The fellow who I got stuck with twice told me a print of my label would be $5 and the next time $7. "Computer fee". That is a ridiculous price for one page and make up your mind on fee's. The second time I went in he showed me the self service shipping kiosk. He was showing me how to prep my return .... Then kept one of my Amazon return items in his hand rather than placing it the return bag. ( there were multiples of the same item). I asked to him to place ALL my items in the bag several times and he just acted like he didn't know what I was referring to. Weird. I then asked about printing a label and that was when he decided it now $7. Finally, Amazon said they did not receive a couple items I had returned there. Who knows? I had recently donated some items to an auction so I needed to pick up some packing supplies so I could get a shipping cost. I saw the UPS store so I stopped in here. I noticed several shipping supplies from bubble lined envelopes to the packing boxes. I picked up a couple envelopes and boxes, and some tape to get my items ready to be shipped. The older guy at the counter was a little on the slow side but he was polite why I asked my questions. I was kinda glad he was a little slow on ringing me up cause I had changed my mind on one of the boxes while he was ringing up my other supplies. When we got to the car we notice one of the boxes was not glued along the side like it should be and he let us change it out without a problem. I did find out if you are shipping smaller packages UPS is not the cheapest way to go, but if you are shipping larger boxes than UPS is the best choice. My packages are on the smaller size so I will ship with the regular mail. If I need to ship a larger item I will defiantly come to this UPS store to get it shipped. read more

This location's fees are ridiculous and I think people should know that there are better places to go. I needed to return two boxes of shoes in two separate boxes, but unfortunately the online retailer only provided one shipping label. The young man at the desk suggested that I could buy a bigger box that both shoe boxes would fit in and that way I could make do with the one return label. This seemed like a reasonable idea so I took him up on it. I asked how much the box was, but he never told me. He returned from the back area with a box and both shoe boxes fit inside, so far so good. Then he asked to scan my shipping label. I showed to him and turns out it needed to be printed, not scanned. Fine. I ask if he can print it and he says "yes" for a $5 computer fee plus the cost of the print. I say no, I'll print it elsewhere and just pay for the box. He rings me up for the box which is $6.99, annoyingly overpriced, but fine. Then he proceeds to charge be $1.99 for putting the shoe boxes in the box (literally all he did was set them in there) plus another $0.99 for taping it closed. I brought up that he could have mentioned there was a $3 fee for him to do next to nothing (something I could have easily done myself) and he says that's just how it is and he has to charge me. I don't mind paying for a box, nor do I mind paying to print a label. But I do mind being charged $5 for a "computer fee" and $3 for them them set something in a box and put one strip of tape across the top. I think its important that people know what to expect at this UPS Store location. If you'd like to go somewhere that doesn't nickel and dime you and will really go out of their way to help you, go to the Office Max around the corner. Prints are $0.15 cents (with no "computer fee") and they'll put your items in a box for free. read more

Update: The owner responded to my review via a public comment letting me know gloves and hand sanitizer are both available to associates at the store. The concern I expressed re: gloves was for the associate, as it seemed every other precaution was in place. I am so glad they let me know these precautionary items were available to the staff. I wish I was able to take my phone out to snap a pic of how this store was setup. Since I was gloved up, I couldn't but I'll describe it. The front door was pinned open, so no need to contact the handle. There was a bright yellow piece of tape from the door to the register marking 6 foot spacing and a large sign outside the store outlining CDC approved procedures. In front of the register was a plexiglass shield that separated the cashier and the customer, and I was instructed to put the package on the scale before stepping back to the 6 foot line to finish the transaction. The one area I saw for improvement was that the employee was handling packages without gloves. I didn't notice if they had hand sanitizer for them, but I hope so just to be safe. Four stars for having 90% of these procedures in place. The only contact I had to have with something touched by others was the credit card terminal. Totally unavoidable, and easily navigated too. I was wearing a fresh pair of gloves, I'd taken my credit card and AAA card out of my wallet before putting the gloves on and going in the store, so I reached into my pocket to use them, used one hand to insert the card, press the button and sign, while the other remained clean so I could remove the card and place it back in my pocket. read more

Went in for notary services. The clerk behind the desk was helping someone but quickly acknowledged me and asked what I was there for. He assured me a coworker would be out shortly. As promised, another young man came out and met me to notarize the documents. It was much quicker than when I've gone to the bank for the same service. It was less than twenty dollars and five minutes to get everything done. Would use their service again for sure! I also could not help but notice the excellent customer service the first clerk provided to his customer. A woman was there to send back a box with a return. She seemed new to online shopping and did not know about the return label or how to pull up her order info from an email. She struggled to figure out her phone but the clerk was patient and kind all the while. Together they figured out it would be easier for her to use the website, not app, to access her email. He set her up on a computer to get to it. He was helpful but gave her the space to both keep her info confidential and to avoid making her look completely inept. People are nice. Sent package to Texas for a clothing repair. I told them the cheapest way that there's no rush and the bill was $70 one way to texas. The company that repaired my goods shipped it back UPS today and their bill was $25. I was told to come in and talk with the manager and when I came in today she said she couldn't do anything and I would need to talk to the owner who was at another one of their establishments. What a waste of time and rip off. The price made absolutely no sense and I was hoping the manager could explain the difference. Unfortunately she couldn't so I'm not sure what her job duties entail but I wasn't ready to drive to another UPS store to talk to the owner when there was a manager right there. I used this store to ship an art print in October 2023. Not only was the printed damaged and returned to me, the store manager, Deanna promised to reship the item at no cost to me, as I had purchased insurance. After many attempts to contact both UPS (their customer service is a total runaround) and Deanna, I gave up and ended up using FedEx. I shipped the print in the same packaging, and it got there just fine. A frustrating and expensive experience, there are better options. read more

I've had to return a few items lately and I cannot tell you enough how helpful, friendly, kind, sweet, all around AMAZING Sai is who works here. I think she is the manager and she is ALL about customer service. She has helped me numerous times and I see her being extremely generous to all the people who walk through that door. She walked packages out to a woman's car who had a baby with her, Sai made a couple trips in and out. All she says is "we are her to help you and we are here to make your life easier". Not a fan of this place. The staff is not very helpful and kind of militant, if you ask me. The store could have been cleaner and a bit more organized. The staff was not well put together. Everyone seemed more interested in what everyone else was doing than on me, the customer. The only reason I would go back is because it's conveniently located by my home and it's the only one. If I have any more time to ship something.... I will take the time to go across town to the post office and wait in line there. Disappointing to say the least. read more

I used to love coming to this UPS store. I chose this location as I had a somewhat involved return and felt confident the return of my work equipment would be handled correctly. The young man that helped seemed annoyed and he and the woman (I think the owner) even questioned a certain item that was clearly on the list. I appreciate the location of this store as it is close to my house. I didn't ship anything but I did drop off 4 pre-paid USPS packages. It was nice to be able to drop those off without dealing with the USPS locations which can be quite busy. The downgrade is the prices. I purchased a box while I was there as I had one more item to ship and it was smaller than a flat rate USPS box. It's a small box - maybe 6"x4"x2." It was over $3. Just for the box. That's so expensive for a small cardboard box. Definitely not worth the cost as it was still $9 to ship on top of that. For less I can get a flat rate shipping box through the USPS where I don't have to pay for the box itself. Aside from the prices for shipping and supplies this is a great spot to drop off pre-paid packages. I won't return to ship items, only to drop off packages that are already paid for. read more

Stopped in just for a prepaid drop off. No line to speak of. Staff were friendly and got me out of there as quick as I came in. Offered a receipt, "have a nice day" and was out the door! Not open on Sundays but open late enough in the evening to get over there after work. Watch out for the craziness in the parking lot though, with the grocery store nearby there is a lot of traffic. read more

Even though this is my neighborhood UPS store I think I'll have to drive elsewhere for a better experience. When I have something to ship and need them to package it for me, I get treated pretty well and get decent service. I will say that it's your most expensive option and that you're much better of buying your own packing materials or recycling than purchasing new here - but it is convenience more than anything else. My negative experience from here is 2 different items. 1. When I'm sending UPS it's generally a drop off (prepaid). A few times now the people behind the counter are either put out for having to do it or tell me that receipts aren't available for drop off (wholly untrue). 2. The most recent experience had me dropping off a box for a return. It was after 5PM so I knew the package would go out the next day. The only problem was it didn't go out the next day. It went out 8 days later. Unfortunately (for me) the package was supposed to be at it's destination within a certain time frame. I now find myself fighting a $599 charge because the recipient didn't receive the package on time (had my package actually gone out the following day it would have had 6 days to get to its destination (it was sent 3 day select). My neighborhood UPS store. Being the busy working mom I am, I tend to order more than I should online. As a result I end up having to return packages when what I order doesn't work out. It's always so nice to come into this UPS store and have no issues dropping off my return packages. I usually go during my lunch hour and rarely have issues with lines here. I've been helped a few times by Lisa and she is always so helpful, always seals my packages for me and prints me a tracking receipt for my records. In fact, all the workers I've interacted with at this UPS location have been nothing but helpful. When I do have to pay for the return postage, or send out a package they always provide the cheapest alternative to get my package to its destination. All my packages have reached their destination with no issues, It's always so nice to know that my trips to the UPS store are hassle free. read more

I came here last week to drop off my dvr's to return to AT&T. I returned today to ship additional equipment. There are various sized boxes displayed outside the front door. There is an easy grip handle to pull open the door, even when your hands are full, as was the case on my first visit. Each time, an employee greeted me professionally and inquired how he could be of service. And each time, I was helped efficiently and quickly without any hiccups. They apparently can service most any kind of shipping need, mail services like post office boxes, and even shredding contents (I think he told me for $1/lb of material). It was nice to know about the shredding service because sometimes I fill several paper bags with confidential information and get overwhelmed to shred it myself. I will gladly return here if there is anything else I need that they can provide. read more

So here it goes....a bad review. My person who help me was Tori.....shame on you for lying to everyone. Went into the UPS store on Monday to mail a flat envelope with my son's medication to Wyoming, since he just moved there and had not got set up for himself. UPS next day was $60, so I asked what other options were, Tori tole me USPS was $33 for next day, so I picked that. I asked if USPS had tracking, she replied yes. So I did the transaction. Tuesday.....No package Wednesday.... I called the store and then I was told that the postman had already did the Monday pickup before I got there at 1526hrs so it id not go out until Tuesday evening, TORI did not tell me that at time of transaction. So I called UPS Store Corp office to talk to them. They seemed puzzled too. Thurday.....No Package. I did get a call from Kayla saying they were looking into what Tori story was and they would call me back on Friday or Saturday. Friday.... My son finally got his meds. No call from Kayla. Saturday....No call from Kayla I wish that i could post my paperwork to show the dates, but it turns out that my next day package to my son (which is shown on my paperwork) took 4 days to be delivered. Even with the postman pick up not being until Tuesday, it is still 3 days. When my son got his meds on Friday, he took a photo of the shipping label. The shipping label shows Priority Mail Express 2-day. So with mistakes that Tori made by not informing of just about anything of importance, my son waited more than I had paid for. End the end, if I would have known that the postman had already did his pickup on Monday, or knowing that overnight was really 2 day, I would have taken my package to FEDEX Kinkos Office on South Virginia....THEY ARE ALWAYS RELIABLE I am still waiting to hear from anybody at the local store on their findings with Tori, but I always thought the customer is always right and the paperwork they provided does not lie. I am hoping for a refund due to the fact that Tori made a big mistake which caused a medical issue for my son. UPDATE: While Kayla said she would call me back......never did. LIED?? maybe I did get an update from UPS Store Corp Customer Service... Tori told the investigator that she did tell me a few time about the pick-up time. LIE, LIE, LIE. So no refund from the store, but gosh I hate lying !!!!! Called Zhong the franchise owner, he stated that he does not even train his employees with regards to telling the customer the pick-up date. I believe that most of us expect the pick-up date is the same as the Drop-off date. UNLESS you drop it off at closing time. I WILL NOT BE USING UPS STORE AGAIN !!! read more

This asshole kid that works there told my wife that she could not send a package because there's a small 2x2 sticker on it that could easily be removed. Instead of taking it off, she was asked to buy a box for $7 and put the old box and contents into the new box. Now what the fuck kind of scam is this?
