I use this UPS location when I am in the area, and I think it's the last hold out on getting a self-scanning machine. On one visit, I asked the 2 workers there if they were getting such a machine and one of them said probably not because they've heard complaints of packages/boxes not fitting in the slot. Welp. No big deal. On my visits to this location, line was never longer than 3 deep and the wait was not too long at all. So why 3 stars? While the workers I've dealt with have been polite and helpful. However, I encountered a lady in here, just a couple of times, who was unnecessarily rude both times. One of the times, I had an amazon return and I had brought it in the box in which it was sent to me. She waited impatiently while I pulled up the return code on my phone, then after I showed it to her and she scanned it, she proceeded to practically yank the box out of my hand, grabbed the item then tossed the box aside with a loud sigh. The whole encounter left a bad taste in my mouth, but it didn't keep me from returning because other workers were not like her at all. read more

I have been to this location three times this summer to drop off returns for Amazon. I'll be brief (at least by my standards). Pros: 1. Very friendly, attentive, professional, calm, and knowledgeable staff. When I went all the staff members appeared to be in their 60's and older. I like that because I have noticed older employees have alwyas semed to provide great service, no matter the business. They do their job well and maintained their cool under presure when the line was long. Not that I'm saying younger ones don't, but I love older employees! Also, when there a problem scanning the Amazon return QR-code with their scanner, they knew how to fix it by using a phone instead. 2. They are open on Sundays if you need them. 3. Convenient location, at least for me, at the corner of S. McCarran Blvd. and Longley Ln. 4. They have two entrances: the rear one in the center of the plaza, and the main one facing S. McCarran Blvd. on the outside of the plaza. 5. Plenty of parking at both entrances. Cons: 1. As others have said, there tend to be long lines. When I went in the second time on a weekday in the afternoon, there were seven or eight people ahead of me with two clerks working. A gentleman entered after me and said "you gotta be kidding", and walked out. A third clerk did just return from her lunch break and quickly manned another station. 2. There is no self-service Amazon return machine, like The UPS Store on Damonte Ranch Parkway has. That is easy to use and is always available, or maybe there is one customer already there. If they had one of these at this store, there would be less lines. When I mentioned this to one of the clerks, he said he hadn't heard of the Damonte Ranch one, but he knew the Sparks store had one. 3. They don't open until 8 AM on weekdays. I went on a Friday at 7:30 AM to drop off a package before heading to a nearby appointment at 8 AM and was stunned the store was closed. After checking just now, some others do actually open at 8 AM, but the others I have been to, like Wedge Parkway and Damonte Ranch Parkway, open at 7:30. The trade off is this store is open on Sundays. 4. The location can be a pain to enter and exit if you are headed in certain directions, since there is a concrete barrier on McCarran Blvd., and the Longley entrance is wedged between McCarran and Peckham, so there can be too much traffic. If you are headed south on Longley, there is no left turn lane, so you might hold up traffic behind you waiting to turn and/or risk being rear-ended. So slow!! Critically, this location does NOT have an Amazon service kiosk which saves time waiting in line. The location off of S Meadows does and that is my go to UPS store. Please invest in on of those kiosks to save everyone time! On multiple occasions I have had to leave because there is 1 person working in the store and at least 5 people waiting in line. I usually avoid this location unless it's a Sunday afternoon and it's the only one open...skip this one unless you're desperate. read more

I recently took a package that was pre-paid with label to this store. It was 4pm and they had a long line. When I take packages that are already paid for to the post office you just put them in the bin, no waiting. I have also done this at the UPS store on Wedge Parkway. You just drop it off with the clerk. This time I walked in and there were 7 people in line out the back door (not the one I entered). I stood their trying to figure things out, it took a minute or two. The lady at the front of the line told me I had to get in the line because they been waiting. I mentioned that I had a question, and so I waited until a clerk was free and then asked him "can I just drop off the package?" He told me yes as long as I did not need a receipt. Since I have proof of the package on the site I sell on, I told him no receipt needed, and he took the package. Here is my issue: you would think he would take it and put it on the other side of the counter where people can not touch it or grab it, but instead he let it sit there. I left the store got in my car and watched him. I was appalled that the package just sat there like it was not important and he continued with the line. I watched in my car, worried that someone might take it or drop it on the floor, for 5 mins. Finally, I decided I could not wait any longer and let while it was still on the counter. This has caused undue stress while I wait to see if the package arrives to it's destination. Their is no reason for this if the clerk (a man) would have put it behind him (anywhere but on the front counter). I will not be going back to this location unless the package does not arrive and if that is the case I will be back and talk to the manager. Just because I did not wait for a receipt does not mean the package was not important. read more

I also came to this store specifically to check it out after that awful review and as I drove in, I realized I'd been here before! And it was during the Christmas rush last year when I specifically remembered them doing a great job! The women in here are awesome! I asked who wrote the response to the upset woman and they said it must have been the the owner. WELL THERE YOU HAVE IT...the owner is paying attention! I love doing business where owners reply to reviews! They seem to have everything here that could be needed. They are friendly and helpful and quoted me $2 to print my label so I wouldn't have to go home first. There is an entrance on both sides of the building so I'm posting pics of BOTH entrances. Where to start. I use this UPS store since it's convenient to both business locations and the airport when our shipping department is closed for the day. Typically, I fill out UPS form or print out a label but today I couldn't do either. As I walked in I can hear a woman complaining about a customer and an employee in the back room. She came out greeting me and I asked her if that location had UPS fillable business forms. Most locations don't since they are privately owned but I thought I would ask. She then told me no and they only accept cash or credit. I said that was fine since it was going on my business card. When I was creating my ground label from work the total was going to be $13 because of our company discount so I had an idea about how much it was going to cost. Anyway, when she asked me what was in the box , took measurements and asked how I would like to ship, I said the $13.00 ship price one(cheapest route). She said it was going to be $16.00 which was NO BIG DEAL BUT HER ATTITUDE when I said "Never-mind, I will ship it from our mailroom" and took the box, tried to walk away when she started to say that I wanted a discount. Was VERY LOUD ABOUT how I was being rude and I supposedly have a business UPS account and wanted a discount. Well, I've never had anything like this ever happen the 3 years Ive dropped off packages. When I walked back to tell her that she was being rude and asked her name the older man who she kept saying was the owner told me it was "Karen" she laughed and so did he. I left frustrated and I know my review won't shut this place or make a difference but at least know that this place will NEVER GET MY BUSINESS. read more

I needed help with some fiddly printing stuff and even though some of the equipment was not working properly (corporate stuff, not his store) the owner put everything aside and helped me figure something out. This location is cramped! They're doing some remodeling and everything is haphazard all over the waiting area, so it's very cramped and uncomfortable, add to that, they do not enforce mask-wearing, so if you're high risk, maybe skip this location. As most other spots they seemed understaffed, and it's hard right now, but this is not a quick drop and go for amazon returns or whatever. Be prepared to wait. I'll find another location to go to. read more

Here's the thing. I got to this location all the time. The guy that used to be there was amazing. The new staff acts like I'm wasting their time every time I walk in the door and they seriously need some training on customer service. Today was a great example of their bad service. We made an appointment online for a notary. Went in at our scheduled time and the employee said "oh we don't have a notary" to which my husband replied "I made an appointment online". She went on to tell us that's a corporate thing and the store doesn't abide by that but we could go to another store. My husband is incredibly nonconfrontational so we just said okay thanks and went to leave. As we were leaving the employee yelled at us "it's not my fault". Are. You. Kidding. Me. How rude can you be? We didn't yell at you. Didn't curse at you. We just said okay and went to leave. That response was completely uncalled for and quite frankly ticked me off. Get your employees some proper training and get that chip off their shoulders. read more

so just an update- over 2 months later i still do not have insurance reimbursed for my package they lost. the manager brandy stopped returning my calls, responding to my messages or even emailing other than a curt short email 7/19 saying she submitted forms and would get back to me when there was resolution. i had to call the complaints office- NOT EASY to find or get a hold of. they told me the store was being non-compliant. in the beginning of this whole fiasco brandy assured me that i would be refunded the full amount the lost package cost me (which i have receipts to confirm). well UPS complaint store says i only get $100 of the $300 it cost me- that brandy misspoke and that only the owner of the store can pay me the rest back. i asked for the owner's number and they said they cannot give it out but i can call the store to ask. the store does not answer their phones, does not respond to messages and does not respond to email. so you can see how this merry go round - lets just pass off the responsibility to the other party- experience is going. my final assessment is this- this store SUCKS. if you do not want your things lost, if you do not want the ABSOLUTE HEADACHE of trying to get clear honorable communications, follow through and any sense of integrity- AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS. and i would say that the apple does not fall far from the tree. the UPS company is also shady, dishonest, rude- their automated system loops you around and around and does not give you a live person unless you learn to trick the system. different UPS people tell you different things and instead of being accountable for what someone previously said they throw it on you and tell you it's your problem. so i will also say NEVER USE UPS. FEDEX has consistently been much better- go to them. and if the owner is reading this- if this was my store i would want to make good on what happened. also you clearly need to fire brandy. even UPS says she is non compliant read more

I consistently find that UPS offers better rates and quicker delivery than the Postal Service. In addition, even when it's busy, I still don't have to wait long. As a bonus, they keep track of who I send packages to, so if I'm sending something to an address of shipped to you before, it's lightening fast. They DO NOT have a Notary! I called ahead of time to confirm whether or not they did and the call rang through to an answering machine. 3X in 30 minutes! When I got to the store and learned that they did not have a notary they apologized but gave no explanation as to what was going on with the phone. I have been trying to locate my package that was sent in December. My recipient never received it . I have been calling this store (as I shipped from this store) and nobody can give me a direct answer. I was given a number to their "corporate" office and it turns out its a fax machine. I called the store to get another number for corporate and nobody has that number for me. I am beyond upset that my package never made it and no one can help me. The UPS Store is very convenient! I didn't even know this was here. I was really surprised because I come to this area often. How oblivious was I that I didn't even know this was here? Very convenient and busy during the peak hours but it moves along quite nicely. Max wait maybe 15-20 minutes. I mean that is pretty long estimate. But we went to drop something off and it was probably a 10 minute wait because there where a few people ahead of the line. But for the most part it is a very convenient location and would recommend this place for anyone trying to ship something off in a hurry. Then you can go right over to Human Bean to grab a cup of joe haha. They are also pretty good at this location. Parking is interesting. It is a smaller shopping complex and you could have a bit of an issue but for the most part there is usually more than enough parking spots for you. Sometimes they have a dance event that they do at the dance studio and they can take up a lot of the parking spaces but this doesn't happen to often. Anyways, I diverge. So the guy behind the counter was very sloppy. I was dropping a next day air package and asked if it was still early enough to make the service. He said I don't know. I asked if there was anyway he could check and he said no. I asked if the driver had made a pick up yet and he said no and I don't know if he's coming. At this point I feel like the package is not going to be safe so I ask if there is a main hub where I can drop it off. He says yes there is one, but I don't know where it is. The last few weeks between 5pm and 6pm regardless of the day of the week there is only one employee behind the counter, this time frame seams to be a very busy time for this store, the lack of staffing is causing customers to walk out and leave because the wait times are too long, 20-30 minutes. read more

Our son had left some of his cloths at our house after a recent visit. We didn't have a box to pack them in so rather then try to go out and buy one I figured the UPS store not far from us would have something to fit the bill. Plus hopefully I could leave the packing to them. The young woman at the counter said "You don't need a box. We have a soft pack those will easily fit", packet them up, labeled, weighed and then told me the cheapest way to send them. I was impressed. I would not even give this store a one store ! Unfortunately I have to put in at least one star to write a review! I went to mail a package last night . I am a stranger to most people ! My son is in the military! I sacrifice my son to serve and protect this country mind you ! My son of course has his own sacrifices to serve and protect us! One of these sacrifices is him not being home for the holidays with his family ! When I went to send a package from his mom and his sister , it was very expensive. I explained to the kid helping me that I just sent a package last money and it was 1/4 if the price why is it so expensive. Thinking maybe there was a mistake. When he went to ask the manager for help, he politely said I know your busy but this lady is inquiring why it's so expensive to ship international? The manger screamed through the store that it's because of covid and the country doesn't want anything going in and out of the country!! She would not allow the kid to explain the situation! She couldn't take anytime out to look the order over to make sure there were no mistakes !!! I left without sending my package and in tears as this lady couldn't even take a minute out of her busy day for a already emotional mother to insure this was imputed in the system correctly!!! No apology nothing ! Just basically a screw you lady deal with it ! I visited the store today(Dec 8th,2018) at 4PM, there's an older white male employee working the front desk was extremely rude. First he ignored a customer, the customer tried to talk to him and asked him a question IN FRONT OF HIM, and he just pretended he didn't hear the customer, and he just keep counting the money in the register, I know you are busy, but at least have the decency acknowledge the customer's existence by saying " just one sec please", the customer was totally shocked by this so he just left the box on the floor because it is a drop off, and then this older white male employee proceeded to say with a VERY rude and annoyed tone " Nobody told u that u can put the box there, I need to know if the package is worth more than $1000." The customer was so mortified by his rude tone and the question. I really wanted to say something because if it wasn't because the older white male employee who works there didn't bother to respond to the customer's question then this won't even happen. I will proceed to file a complaint to the corp against this employee. I know this must be a busy season for UPS, but we are the customers, you can't treat us like that. I strongly recommend this employee to find a job at USPS because his attitude definitely fits well in there. On the other hand, the short hair girl with glasses although was slow, but at least she is polite enough to apologize for being slow and she even said "thank you and have a nice day" to me! This is the perfect example of how a nice attitude can even overturn the slow service, as long as you are polite, we can take the slow service. read more

My brother recently passed away. He had a PMB at the UPS store 1292. On the 4th of March 2022 I flew from Dallas Texas to Reno Nevada to deal with my brother's death. I stopped by UPS to retrieve his mail as I had his mail key. While there I arranged with Keith to have my brother's mail forwarded to my residence in Texas. I provided my credit card number to pay the fee. The mail was never forwarded. The first week of April 2022 I drove to Reno from Texas. I called the store and talked to Ryan who said she would fix the mail forwarding problem. I went to the store, again picked up my brother's mail which had not been forwarded, and arranged with Ryan to have the mail forwarded. Ryan found the original information and assured me the mail would be sent. Two weeks letter, no mail forwarding. In addition, I found out my brother paid for a full year box rental in the amount of $240. I called 3 times, no answer, left two messages. No return call. I sent an email requesting $160 for the 8 months unused box rental, no response to email. For these reasons I have graded the UPS Store at 3983 S. McCarran Blvd the lowest score possible. I hope they read this and take action on my concerns. read more
