    Tatung Printing

    (1 review)

I've worked at Tatung Printing for roughly 6-7 years now, and recently have moved away for school…read more I just wanted to input my two cents on the experience I've had working there, and let you Yelpers know about a great company founded on and still running on great moral practices. Talking with the manager, Tatung printing is a family-owned business that started back in 1984, when the family moved to Atlanta from Taiwan. They've been in operation since then, and have moved a total of three times, the current location being their base for over 12 years. He is a man of strict moral values, sometimes making me throw out thousands of menus because there was a small ink blot on the corner of the menu, and making me reprint it. He never took it out of my paycheck, but I had to finish reprinting it before I could go home, and if it got late, he would buy me coffee and keep me company until the job was done. The company is a really small company, with a staff of maybe four or five people, and a very lively and active grandma mans the front of the shop when the manager isn't there. From the outside, you would think the shop is a warehouse, and it was, until the manager bought it. Once you step inside, you are instantly transformed into an Asian family-owned business. There are Chinese wall scrolls covering all four sides of the wall, and there is an organized mess of files and papers. They have a small mutt that is contained behind the counter, and will bark and alert the manager if it doesn't recognize you, but after a few visits, it'll warm up to you. Tatung Printing does take-out menus, business cards, wedding invitations, restaurant menus, wall scrolls, receipts, fliers, and posters. They used to print envelopes and t-shirts too, but have recently stopped printing those. There is a typesetting fee if you do not have a Microsoft Word/Excel/PDF file of whatever you are printing. Once typed, they will fax/email it to you for you to double-check and give the okay for it to be printed. Usually printing takes 3-4 days depending on the amount ordered and the availability of paper and ink. My overall experience there has been one of great pleasure. The good memories there vastly outweigh the bad, and the staff there are very nice and friendly. They run on Christian values, which are evident in the way they deal with nagging customers and people that are unhappy with their final product. There were many instances where people decided to make changes to menus, business cards, everything after they have been printed, and the manager worked patiently and diligently with them, usually tagging on an extra fee that didn't even amount to the cost of paper and ink required to reprint the order. The reason I am writing this review is because I recently came back to Atlanta and visited them. They are still doing moderately well in business, but have pulled their ads out of the local Chinese newspapers because sales have been dipping a little bit. They are getting ready for retirement, and all their kids are in college or graduated by now. They still have the same prices as when I came to work here roughly 7 years ago, despite the gas price rising. They ship orders via UPS, or you can pick up your order from their store. I would definitely consider this place for all your printing needs. They can do full color copies at prices that make Kinko's shudder. If they feel they can't accept your order, they will also kindly direct you to a place that will satisfy your needs. Their email is tatungprinting@hotmail.com. Give them a ring.

The manager Unnati Patel, is a liar and a scammer…read more I worked for this store back in April-May for only a few weeks. The first three weeks of working I did not get paid. When I brought this to the manager's attention she said that the internet was down and I should see my check in the next 1-2 days. I did not see my check until the following weekend which made it three weeks and a few days that I did not get paid. I had a family emergency and asked the manager if I could step outside to make a phone call which she allowed me to do. When I came back inside she asked me if everything was okay which I told her yes just family emergency. She then asked me if I needed to leave early or take the rest of the week off. I told her no but she proceeded to pressure me into leaving so I took the rest of that day off which was 2 hours left of my shift. Before leaving she asked me my size for my uniform and said she would give me a call. The next day came and I did not get a call but I noticed I was removed from the schedule. I reached out to the manager to make sure things were okay and to let her know what was going on the day that I left early. She gave me a call and said that she was going out of town and needed someone with more experience to watch the store while she was gone. I said okay and went to the store the following day to grab my umbrella that I left and saw that she was still there although she told me she was leaving to go out of town which is why I was removed from the schedule that week.. Another week goes by and I am still not on the schedule, and now no longer have any access to the app used to clock in and see my schedule. When I brought this to the manager's attention she then fired me.. Unnati Patel lied to me and said she was leaving which is why I was not scheduled but in reality I was just laid off without given any reason... Not to mention during my training I was taught to lie to the customers to get them to spend more. The manager advises if the customer looks like they may be wealthy or well off, to lie to them and not give them any low prices so the store can profit from them. Although I did not agree with this morally, I did what I was told and was advised by the manager that I was learning fast and doing well. Being told this on top of being asked my size for the uniform, I assumed things were going well. I would not recommend anyone to work here, you do not get a break to eat, I took my break to eat whenever one of the employees or manager randomly decides I can take one. I was also asked to give one of the employees Sat a ride several times, unpaid. This store not only scams its customers, my experience working here felt like I was treated unfairly and I was never given a reason why.

The store doesn't have the automated Amazon return kiosk. You will have to wait in line. Suggest…read morefinding another drop off point.
