I have been a regular at this location for the past few months and I just wanted to share how amazing the workers are at this UPS Store. Every time I come in, whether it be Josh or Will they're incredibly helpful, patient, and professional. They always go out of their way to make sure everything is done correctly and that I leave feeling confident about my shipment. I also want to say that they don't deserve any criticism people may give them about pricing -- they don't set the prices. They're just doing their jobs, and they do them exceptionally well! Their customer service is truly above and beyond, and they always treat customers with kindness and respect. Reading some of the reviews disgust me because it is not their fault, they don't deserve such criticism just because someone cant afford $5. The store gets exceptionally busy around Christmas and they always manage to stay positive, organized, and on top of everything. They handle the holiday rush better than any other store I have been to! Thank you both for making every visit a positive experience. Highly recommend this location. Over the years and through many moves, I've been to a lot of UPS stores. Most were average in terms of customer service and always understaffed, so the wait times were horrific. Not this one! Every single person who works there is kind and courteous and even around the holidays when the lines are long, they keep things moving. I highly recommend this location! read more

I guess service has improved considering the barrage of negative reviews, so thank you management for listening to the customers' feedback! I came in on a weekday night, half an hour before closing, and just wanted to ship a small box and a small package (that's not box shaped) to the west coast. The sales associate was very thoughtful and asked if I could just use the box to ship everything since it would cost me much more to also ship the non box package as well. I couldn't since I knew it wouldn't fit, but I definitely appreciate his thoughtfulness which I rarely get from other shipping stores. He was a bit too fast and didn't ask me what kind of shipping I'd like or when the package would arrive. I came in wanting the cheapest delivery option and he did that by default already. I really didn't care when it arrived, so it didn't bother me but it might for others who might be sensitive about the arrival date. But after I paid and he told me the tracking date, he quickly remembered to tell me the above details. In any case, I really appreciate the sales associate for his friendliness and consideration. That UPS store that's on 97 street on Broadway is simply ridiculous. They want to charge $5.45 to print one return label for return package to Amazon. I don't understand who they're doing business because it's simple trying to make money out if the Amazon customers. Furthermore, I do understand they have to charge a fee but come on know, not not damn $5.45 for one return label, cause that's REALLY ridiculous indeed!! However, something has to be done about this and contact corporate or whoever's in charge of that branch to look into this matter before losing customers Because It makes no sense whatsoever to be changing all that much for an Amazon return label. I went to this store to ship a small pkg to Canada. The employee told me the only shipping mode available was express. I told him I always ship "standard delivery"to Canada. He reiterated it was not available. When I showed him on the UPS website that it was available, he said his manager told him to only offer ëxpress, at a cost of $178. I left & went to the UPS store on 79th and Broadway. I had no issue to send my pkg standard delivery at a cost of $52. I called and complained to UPS--they stated it was a "training issue". When I explained the manager was training the employee to do just this--they would do nothing more. So, my dear fellow consumers--think about what else they are lying about in terms of services. It seems the owner enjoys harassing people who complain about bad, rude customer service and even goes so far as to accuse people of lying. On December 31st, 2020, I spoke with the gentleman inside and he said they closed at 8pm and when I showed the lights were on, staff inside, as another customer and I tried to tell him we'd called ahead. He laughed at us and said it was not his problem. Many times I have had good service from this site. Not tonight. The man said his name was John but he may have tried to avoid being named in this review. I needed boxes. He insisted I had to have a dimension so he could help me with their "myriad of sizes". After we went around this issue five times, he finally pointed me to the "sign in the window". There was no sign. There was a sample of boxes stacked one on top of the other, but you couldn't see them because there were boxes waiting to be shipped in front of them. Completely unhelpful, passive-aggressive, and patronizing. I didn't want to buy anything from him, but I had no choice. So I bought sever large boxes. When I told him he had been rude, he thanked me for saying so, and stacked the boxes in a way that made them harder to carry out of the store. A real customer service oriented employee. read more

This location is a dreary mess. I once had to ship something that I was packing myself. They made me go outside and pack it on the curb. There was no one else in the store when they did this, so it felt particularly unnecessary and dehumanizing. They blamed corporate rules. So, UPS sucks in general, and the workers in this store had bo ability to help out. The next gem from this establishment is that I took an Amazon return to this location, which they were supposedly going to pack and ship free of charge. UPS scanned the Amazon code, took my return item, GAVE ME A UPS TRACKING CODE (the owner is gaslighting me so I thought I'd be clearer) and as of yet (I took it in on July 7) the tracking info still reads "Label Created." I brought this to the attention of the store on July 18th. He told me, with no helpful demeanor, that it was a matter to take up with Amazon and wasn't their fault. Amazon was great. They helped me out, and were friendly. It took up an hour of my day. I am confident that the item was lost or stolen by this UPS staff. This location is useless! Do not use them unless you have to. Wow, Customer service means nothing to the woman working at this store - Alicia. I called asking when they closed and explained I was walking quickly from the store at 106 which recently closed. The woman was extremely rude on the phone and hung up on me abruptly after stating we are closing in 10 minutes. When I got to the store I walked in and was greeted with a roll of the eyes... all I had to do was drop a Rent the Runway package so it's not like I'm actually requiring any help from her. I asked her name, and let her know she was really sweet on the phone. Another eye roll. I said no problem, I will just note this in my review... to which she gives me "two thumbs up" with a rude sarcastic smile. This woman represents your store and your service. Clearly she doesn't take her job seriously. All she had to do was tell me politely on the phone the hours of your store. When I walk in, say hello and how may I help you - instead of an eye roll because you wanted to close early (when I was told she closed in 10 minutes on the phone it was technically in 18 minutes according to the 6pm on their site and I walked in at 5:52 and was merely dropping off a pre-packaged item that needed zero effort from her part). I see on this yelp page that there are several people complaining about the rude woman - very likely they are describing Alicia as well. Maybe the feedback from customers means nothing? My interaction at this store (which due to 106st location closing last month is now my closest store to home) means I will no longer use UPS to ship anything. I don't need to pay money for bad service and I don't need to let your rude employees get me upset and in a bad mood. My needs at your store yesterday were so simple and basic, and Alicia can't even do that with a smile. Although I always receive great service at this location last night I came into the store around 7:00PM to find the store with only 1 worker on duty and it was a young woman at the register. Right behind me entered a homeless guy talking to the mailboxes and even though I was done I decided to stay until he left and I felt the worker to be safe. When I asked about why she was alone she mentioned that was the owners choice. I then went back in today and was told by the store manager that scheduling, which is usually left up to the discretion of the store manager, is done by the owner. In my opinion the owner isn't looking out for the well being and the safety of his workers. At the very least it should be either two workers on duty and at the very least don't leave a young defenseless girl in this situation. You're putting your worker in jeopardy. read more

My second review of the place. This is the first time I'm here to make copies. The have a cheaper rate than PawPrint (Columbia's very own). That must say something. This one is a completely opposite experience from the one in Harlem on the 116th Street (that got a 1 star from me.) Columbia is lucky to have Jimmy, Jeff and Andy around; I surely am as a Columbia student. This UPS Store would be the best one in NYC in my opinion. Fast service, even faster moving queues - thanks to the staff at this store. Specifically, Jimmy took care of my packaging and drop offs and it was an excellent experience. Kudos Jimmy and the Store itself. Did I mention cozy and homely? Andres' (Andy) management is splendid. *one star off cause as usual - sometimes packing prices can be, well you know what to expect from the UWS (that's upper west side btw.). This store is ridiculous. They charge you for printing the label which you can only do in their computer. Not only do they charge for the print but they also charge you every minute that you use their computer. To their advantage their computer is the slowest computer I have ever used in my life so it feels like a scam. read more

You'll notice several UPS stores have closed and for good reason. They are franchises run by generally inept small business owners who as revenues diminish try to wring top dollar out of remaining customers. My nearest UPS store is on 96th and Broadway and my few experiences there have been horrible. So I decided to walk another 5 blocks to this store. I brought the lampshade I wanted to ship as it is large and hoped that I didn't have to drag a large box home, pack and drag it back. I asked for a 24" square box (listed as standard on the UPS site). I was later to discover they sold me a 26+" box. I was then told that the total for box and packing would be $40 and change! Box was $17 and the packing charge was $23.00!!! Bought the box, dragged it home, packed it myself in 2 minutes (extremely light, non fragile contents) and printed out a label on the UPS website. Brought it down to the doorman for UPS pickup. Net cost $17. Everyone is entitled to be fairly paid for their effort. This was absurd. I'm giving the store 2 stars because they were capable of selling me a box (although the wrong size). read more

This place is the worst. Most people don't have access to their offices during covid; most people don't own printers. I'm trying to send packages back with pre-paid shipping labels. This place wants you to log in to their computers (pay for computer time) and print the label (pay for sheets printed), then use them to ship (collect revenue on the shipment). I refuse to believe they can't enter the tracking number and produce a label for you; they would have to if a label was damaged or illegible. We have had this poor experience on several occasions. On ONE occasion the employee was smart enough to just have you e-mail the label file and he printed it out. I assume he was sick of "store policy" and decided to improve the customer experience. Good on him. Too bad he's not the franchisee. Franchisee is awful and should give up this store. Poorly run junk. Will never give this location any personal business. Will continue to push ecommerce companies to use FedEx or USPS. Really need to look yourselves in the mirror when the USPS experience is more positive than your "store." read more

Went in for the first time earlier on today after a very horrid experience at the post office and was helped by a very polite and courteous young gentleman. Unfortunately I did not get his name, but he wears glasses and was there today at around 6pm when I went in. You will PAY THROUGH THE NOSE to have an envelope sent to you. My roommate sent something to me (NYC to LA). And it won't get there when they promise it! I paid almost 40 dollars for 2 Day Air and it took almost 5 days! A note on the tracking info informed me that "the item was sorted incorrectly which may cause a delay". MAY cause a delay?? Gee, ya think so? I posted this review several days ago .....then the UPS store told Yelp it wasn't them (not true) so Yelp removed my review! I HAVE THE RECEIPT TO PROVE IT WAS THEM! Wow. I will never visit this location again. I will never use UPS again since this is the service level agreement they have with their franchisees, apparently. My label didn't print properly (for a $47 international express delivery) and they were going to charge me $2+ to use the printer like anywhere else. Apparently that's standard procedure for UPS franchises which is galling. Are there any actual UPS stores that could just reprint the label for me or recreate the shipment? Of course not, this is manhattan, why would we have that?? Moreover, the attitude of the woman working was appalling. I tried asking for her help in exploring other options and she just threw shade and was the opposite of helpful. A package guaranteed to arrive the next day should get there the next day! Especially considering the outrageous cost for it. It did not arrive the next day, but the following day, but I didn't pay for second day service so when I went in to ask for a refund of the cost difference, the person quite rudely said no refund because it was due to weather. She gave me the 800 number for UPS, but when I called it, they said they were just the "answering service for UPS" and couldn't help file a complaint nor did they have a number which I could call to make a complaint. UPS can play these games of not wanting to be held responsible for their actions, I won't bother shipping with them any more. Best to go with Fed-ex when they say next day, they mean next day or they advise you in advance if there might be difficulties. But this UPS store at 2753 Broadway was especially discourteous, curt and didn't care an iota about customer service. Best to avoid and give your business to people who put customers first. read more
