This closet-sized post office has no stamp-vending machine, so I had to wait behind the only other customer there who had at least between eight to ten over-sized packages, for which he was filling paperwork out, at the service window itself, to have them be sent individually. I was there for almost fifteen minutes when the arrogant and shiftless cranky woman, who is the postal clerk, scowled at me and said I should not think I'd be helped anytime soon because she and this first customer would be busy for a loooong time yet. I responded by saying " Why didn't you tell me this when I first walked in? How can you possibly be the only clerk here?" I the told her all I needed was to purchase three stamps to mail my letters and she said "Too bad, first come, first serve!" I then proceeded to stare at her meaty hands to notice she was moving VERY slowly instead of picking up the pace as to not have to exert her over-sized self. She finally told me to go down to the main post office on Gorge Road. Now it was at least 70 degrees outside and I was on foot, so to go that route in the heat would have taken me about an extra half hour from there to Gorge Road and then back to my place. Instead, I went next door to the convenience store where I wound up paying 70 cents a stamp, That was my first, and last time at Broom Hilda's post office. read more
