This is one of the only post offices I know in Northern NJ open past 5pm. There may be others but it's the only one I know that's open late. During the week it closes at 7pm. I also like that it has an open self service lobby, so if you need to go after hours it's available. Parking is ample too. It's weird that it doesn't come up when you google search for NJ USPS open late. But I'm glad I remembered that it's here. It's saved me when I've been in a bind more than once. read more

I have known this guy forever because he worked at another location. I feel welcome when I go in there and the other employee she tolerates me because I always have some big box or something and I had to go at 6:45. She even helped me charge my phone because the eBay label I needed it was on my phone. Clean. I try to minimize my time at the post office. I have a printer, label paper, Express/Priority Mail supplies (free to order online), and a scale at home, so I typically only come to drop off packages. If there isn't much of a line or if I have something too big to fit in the drop or if I have Express mail, I will go to the counter and ask for a receipt. Otherwise, I use the kiosk where you can print a receipt and drop it in. If it's off hours and someone dropped something oversize in, it will be stuck unfortunately. I've had to deal with nightmare post offices in the past, so this one is a relative breeze. I have experienced some delays in waiting for the package to start tracking. Sometimes it's because the scan doesn't show up until it's at the destination sorting facility or because it was after 5pm/Monday holiday, but it's fine if you have patience to wait a day or three. Oh, and there is a spacious parking lot. Sometimes it irks me when people can't park between the lines and take up two spots. I usually avoid peak times and can park right in the front. Passport: I renewed. I filled out the form online, printed it... a few times. Took my passport photos and got it printed at Walgreens (see my review on Walmart). I put it all in a Priority Mail envelope with label with old passport and dropped it off here. Super easy. This is an average post office. There is a parking lot and I'm usually in and out. Socially distancing is enforced. Last time I mailed some catalogs, however, from here they took almost a month to arrive. I don't know if that's the fault of this post office, or the postal service in general. read more

Our neighborhood MailBox has fallen and on the ground for the past 5 days. I tried calling the local office to no avail, they never pick up the phone and their 800 # sends you on circles. I want to report the mailbox issue that Im sure the mailman has seen and ask if it has been reported, will will it be fixed and how do I get my mail. Phone system is AWFUL!!!!!! Had to call the Fraud department and after a LONG wait got a live person. And she had to call them through a hotline # and transferred me. Our mail is being held at post office until the box gets fixed and we have to pick it up in the mean time. Not a problem but communicating this would have helped. Suggested if they could put a laminate sign on the box to let the neighbors know, because we don't know what we don't know. But I don' t think they will do it. Because they dont answer the phone because they dont care, but I will give everyone the FRAUD dept # to report it . read more

I always come to this post office for all my needs from money order to stamps! I've never had any issues here with none of the employees. There is always plenty of parking every time I come here. All the staff members are nice and informative with any questions I have. There is an Asian lady that always this attitude and seriously acts like she owns the post office there. Someone needs to speak with her and give her a reality check read more

Terrible terrible terrible.... This has to be the worst post office location. The Korean ladies who work here are terribly slow and terribly rude (especially the one who works the middle counter). I had to renew my passport our son get his first. Had to wait a little while on line but not to long. Thankfully our son is very cooperative and didn't fuss. We had all paperwork done in advance so when it was our turn everything was in order. Thought we could pay cash but couldn't needed a money order, which of course they provide us with. The women who took care of us was very nice and explained everything step by step. It was a little time consuming but we got it done! read more

Asian lady at the counter thinks she's the owner of USPS. I go to the surrounding post offices and never have an issue. Every time I go here she is trying to charge me for something that I "missed". Just take the package, scan it and throw it in the back. Idk why there is always an issue it's so strange. read more

I am proud to be a hard working, polite, and an intelligent Asian who contribute to the society. I was surprised to see the elder Asian PO workers who were chatting loudly in their native tongue, eating snacks that they brought, and totally acting like children knowing there is a long line of customers who were waiting to send packages and/or buying stamps. When my turn came up, one of the ladies gave me a dirty look and didn't say anything to me but continued to chitchat with her colleagues in their language. Pros: * Prices are WAY better than UPS. Last Christmas, I attempted to ship some presents to my little cousin's in St. Louis. UPS wanted about $45. The post office was about $14. HUGE savings if you are willing to ship it "slow boat to China". * Hours: I have my mom's Post Office Box here. She passed away about a year ago. The lobby is open until 7 pm, so it's possible to get here occasionally to check the mail. * Parking. I is much better than other USPS location, including Cliffside Park. I only go to my local Cliffside Park location if I HAVE to, such as to pick up a package. Edgewater has much more generous parking. * Nice retail selection. * Clean, modern facility. Cons: *Passport Hours: ( a common "Con" to most USPS locations). Hours for passport service are restricted. Check in advance. You don't want to come here only to be told you missed the window or need to come back latter. * Civil Servant attitude. If you come close to closing time, they can be a real jerk. That's the upside of a union job, I guess. Sometimes, real people have trouble making it on time. If the doors unlocked, it would be nice to help people, even if it means working a few minutes longer. That's what people would do in the private sector to secure a sale. read more

I never thought I'd leave a review for a post office, but honestly this post office deserves a review. I've renewed my passport here (super easy process), mailed tons of wedding invitations, and used their DIY kiosk. Yes, the line is long sometimes - but they move through customers much faster (and with more patience) than most other post offices that I've been to. The hours are WONDERFUL - they close at 4pm on Saturdays and that alone is very helpful. Also, and most importantly, the postal workers actually try to help you without yelling at you. This is really the only post office I use now, even though there is one closer to me. Highly recommended. read more

Have been here a few times. It's a large and open space, offers mail related services and also passport application acceptance.Never been too crowded due to the large space, but it can take a while if there is a line because they usually only have one (occasionally 2) employees helping customers. I have always been helped by the same female employee. Customer service is not good, but again I don't recall customer service being the goal of any USPS facility. The employee got the job done, but with immense attitide (as if she is doing a huge favor on the customer). Don't expect a helpful attitude. read more

This is the worst Post Office. Not helpful. Went to renew my passport. Myeong, the Postal Service Worker was extremely rude and dismissive. Pointed to passport paperwork at another counter and told me to mail it from anywhere else. I was under the impression they offer full service. I needed new pictures and money orders to be sent in for expedited service for an upcoming trip. Myeong was unprofessional and needs some training on how to address a customer correctly. read more

2 stars for the greeting card selection, ample parking and for being open later during the week. This office of the USPS is a head scratcher. I've had packages arrive without being delivered, and when I've gone to pick them up here at the post office, I find that the packages have been returned to sender. This has happened with parcels coming from California, which means a hell of a long wait to get the packages back. I always ask for a receipt whenever I mail anything here, because I just don't trust when things are being sent out, etc. I've mailed letters to friends in RI and Florida, and the letters just never showed up, and were never returned to me. For a while I was avoiding this office completely and got in the habit of bringing my mail to Hoboken and mailing from there. The lines here are usually long, and a lot of the time the people are like, half assing it and filling out their forms and addresses while they're in the line, expecting everyone behind them to wait. Like Mike B. What a joke. A long line at the post office is characteristic of people being unprepared. People, have your stuff done before you get in line. How this place isn't better reviewed is beyond me. Best office in the area, period. Friendly staff and a lot of room to write and seal envelopes, which can be done while still on line! Yes, sometimes the line can be long, but that's a characteristic of any post office. What seals the deal for me with this post office is that they are open later than most, 7pm on weekdays! It must be nice to be part of a monopoly. I received a slip in my mail box saying that I had a package at the post office. The paper has the address and the hours of the post office printed on it as being "M-F 10AM-7PM" I was there by 6:45 and the place was empty save for a customer using a self-service machine. This is the worst post office I've ever been to in the entire country. The lines are ALWAYS long, and there is usually 1 surly woman working at any one time, while the rest of the miserable ladies are in the back milling about. By far the worst post office I've spent money with. The women are rude, the service is poor and they are greatly under staffed. Get a P.O. Box here at you're own risk. They're over priced and you can't pick up your packages until a day after they've been delivered. Communication is also difficult since these women hardly speak the language. read more

Never thought I would write a review on yelp about a post office but after experiencing the most amazing customer service last Saturday, I felt compelled to write a review here. I had to apply for a passport for my 4 month old baby. I knew it would be a nightmare after hearing stories from our friends who applied for passports for their babies in Manhattan where I live. So I decided I should venture off into NJ since we have access to a car since people in suburbs are usually nicer right? YES. First, I decided why not try calling them to see if they have specific hours for passport services? I was shocked when they actually answered the phone and the gentleman on the phone was SO NICE explaining the hours to me. I came prepared with all my paperwork and photos on Saturday morning at exactly 10AM. I was a little nervous because there were over 5 people ahead of me already there for their passport applications and was shocked to see how efficient these employees were. I was literally in and out in 15 minutes tops!! I also saw that they took photos of infant babies using white sheets and laying them down. I highly recommend this post office!! read more

Stay far away from this post office if you are mailing / returning valuable merchandise . They lost my package a few months ago - this month 2 store returns went missing AGAIN - I would not doubt that there is inside theft !! Limited parking around and they are very slow moving. I went in and there were 3 people at the counters. Two of them were helping patrons and the third was doing something else at the counter and didn't even look up to at least let patrons know that she wasn't helping customers. Then one of the women finished helping a customer and he left. I walked up to the window and she didn't even look at me. Finally, I said hello? And she looked up and said oh you have to wait in line Bc she just decided she stopped seeing customers. So I go back online and finally go to the third rep and she was nice and did her job efficiently, but the entire experience was annoying to say the least. read more

Service is good enough but was harassed by a belligerent customer waiting in line for the service counter to open on a Saturday morning. I'd never been to this location before and upon entering there didn't seem to be any defined line or any signs indicating where to form a line. I was standing in the "wrong" place and was literally berated by this customer. Thank you to the man who actually spoke up and indicated the line.
