Bad customer service. Employees are not honest and stealing high-value packages. I was helped by Miguel, the store manager, to ship an iPhone 17 Pro 1 TB. I expressed my concern about the high value of the phone, and Miguel assured me it would be okay and I insured the package and declared the value. The package was stolen BEFORE leaving the store and never got any scan on the record besides "shipping label was created". It has been 6 weeks now, and I'm still fighting with UPS Capital to recover the value I declared, but they make it very difficult to claim it (as expected from an insurance company). I'm very frustrated and disappointed. I suspect that Miguel was involved in the incident since he knew what was inside the box and since the package never left his store. When I confronted him, he promised me the package left the store with the driver, and he showed me the recording video of me dropping the box there, BUT he never showed me a video or any other proof of the package actually leaving the store with the delivery person. If the owner of the franchise sees it, PLEASE get in touch with me so I can provide all the details. This is NOT OK, and the person who stole my package should be held accountable. Employee 136452 was the worst UPS employee I have ever dealt with. He takes the correct address, duplicates it, and then changes it without you knowing. I confirmed the correct address for overnight shipping, and then it was lost and he will not issue me a refund. When water runs dry... My workplace was out of UPS Ground shipping labels whereas I took the initiative to go to a UPS facility in hopes of attaining some. Low and behold one UPS employee was on staff in the morning hours with a line of four customers waiting, until my turn to achieve nothing. "We do not have UPS labels, you would have to log-in and print out them. Everything is done online!!" I have no idea what the stupid password is to my workplace account, which is why I came here who offered no other suggestion. The woman was cordial yet blatant and, of course, utter useless to my situation. Note: Lesson learned from my workplace regular UPS guy, all UPS Stores are independently franchised and purposely do NOT carry shipping labels as they do not profit from distributing free labels. I stood in this store sweating my ass off for 30 minutes and almost cried from frustration. There was no AC and only one employee who was extremely unhelpful. He told me he couldn't create the shipping label I needed but instead I would have to make one on my phone. I tried to make one on my phone but encountered several set backs which he was of no help solving. He dealt with other customers while I tried to get his help. My phone ended up creating the label and charging my bank before I left the store to go to Fedex. I've now been on the phone with UPS billing three times and have still yet to get a refund. It's a well-documented fact: no one enjoys moving. This being my third move in less than three years, I like to think I'm getting a little more composed about the whole affair, and learning a few tricks to smooth the way. One such trick? UPS! Two moves ago, I was relocating from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. and I was a mess. I procrastinated like mad about packing, convincing my friends that instead of helping me pack, as they'd volunteered, we should instead get crispy tacos from Nick's and watch Law & Order. What I discovered, though, was that if you can get it into a box, UPS can get it to where you need to go. Thirty something boxes and a week or so later, all my stuff arrived in the nation's capital. The cost was around $500. Not bad for a cross country move! This move I had considerably less stuff (moving a lot makes you pare down your possessions.) My pal came from New Jersey with his Ford F-150, loaded my nine boxes in back, and drove me to this UPS location. The woman behind the counter kindly added tape to all of my boxes and got them sorted with proper labels. Her sweet demeanor put me at ease. And less than $200 later, most of the contents of my New York life are on their way back down the East Coast. I'll be sure to update when they make their safe arrival. I had a really good experience at this ups store today. I was on a deadline to submit something for work. I happened upon this place today as I was scrambling to find a place to print, scan and email something that I needed to submit via email. There was no wait. The workers helped me a lot with understanding how everything worked and in addition made sure I didn't waste money by paying for more services than I received. In addition to this they explained to me how I could scan documents and that they would email them to me. I payed for the scanning service but the email was free. It really helped me out in a pinch when I wasn't sure I would get my work done in time. read more

Two people "working" in the store - one guy sitting in a chair and staring, the other woman standing around some boxes in the back who looked slightly more productive. I was dropping off two pre-paid boxes, and the woman gestured for me to leave them on the counter. I then politely asked for a receipt, requiring her to walk about ten steps to the counter. She gave a huge sigh as she scanned the package and printed a label and said to the silent sedentary guy - "with the drop offs if it's lost it's lost. We're not responsible." As if I had really put her out by asking her to do something. I assume this was somehow related to the fact that I asked for a receipt - and that she thought it was useless for me to ask for a tracking number? Wow. A completely useless and hostile place. They just quoted me nearly $100 to ship a medium-sized framed picture cross-country via UPS Ground service. That sounded very high, and I said so -- to which the woman said "it's going all the way to California". What, are we in pioneer times? I've shipped things before, and I know it doesn't cost $100 to ship a 10-pound package to California. I went home, put in the dimensions online at UPS.com and got an estimate of less than $30 for UPS Ground. And I'm not even going to comment on what they wanted to charge me to pack the picture in a box, because that was insanely high as well. Do not get anything notarized here. They do not know what they are doing. She told me she was certified in the state of New York however when I went to the county clerk to get the document authenticated they told me they do NOT have her signature on file and I have to go to Kings County to get it authenticated. This is the second time this has happened to me (first time was a notary at a pharmacy on 19th &9th). Make sure the notary is actually certified in the state of new york and that they have the signature on file at the county clerk if you need to get it authenticated. read more

I've gone here twice and been underwhelmed twice. First time I arrived no one was there for so long, I almost left. Then the guy was not pleasant about giving me a UPS pack. (?!). Second trip was worse, I arrived 20 minutes before last scheduled pickup time. As I was about to go, the clerk mentioned casually that my package would go out "tomorrow" well on a Thursday that means Monday delivery, not Friday, in business that a big difference. I asked if there was another location and he just shrugged and offered no help. While standing there, I looked up another store phone number (located at 33rd) to inquire. Good thing I did! The other location was polite and helpful and they *did* care enough to to get my package out on time, even though it was 15 blocks north. The driver arrived and said he couldn't fit our boxes in the truck and left without further communication. Called the store and were told that they made an error and would send another driver out. Missed our flight due to this error. Each further conversation with the UPS Store representative was RUDE! We were hung up on twice, charged an absurdly excessive amount ($500 more than quoted on the UPS website) and when questioned were basically told 'too bad'. Asked for a refund of the pick up fee since they were 1 1/2 hours late, due to their error, but again told, 'too bad'. I live on the next block from the store and use their services frequently. I must say that the young men and women working there are always so helpful. They will fill out my forms, assist me with the copier, etc., and are sweet and cheery. I buy my shipping supplies in there and they help me select which boxes are better for shipping a product. If you live in this area, please stop and check out their services. They also have mail services and drop off and pick up packages that are prepaid but need shipped. read more

Been here on several occasions and every time I've had to recite the shipping address for a package at least 4 times before the guy enters it correctly into the computer, and it's not like English isn't my native tongue. On one occasion I even wrote it out and it still required 3 entries for the guy to enter it, and it still wasn't delivered correctly: it was actually addressed to 4 Pine Hill Avenue and not 44 as I had written. There most definitely needs to be an intervention here, and it may even involve screening the employees for illicit substances as I can't believe something as straightforward as entering an address correctly is such a monumental task. These people have no clue. I planned a vacation in Canada and wanted to ship some things ahead instead of schlepping it thru the airport. Big mistake. These people did not bother to tell me anything about customs delcarations, which could have been resolved at the store. No, just took my money. Of course it gets hung up in Canadian customs and I cannot get the package until I pay duties or declare that I do not live in Canada or both. All of this should have been done at the point of shipping. Why should I have to deal with any of this since I paid a premium to get it shipped? Here is the bottom line: The store is too small. They stack packages to be shipped right by the front door. The people working there cannot possibly keep an eye on the packages all the time. I've dropped off 10 prepaid packages over the past year and only 8 ever made it to the UPS driver. The two missing boxes apparently walked off down 7th Ave. You should also know that giving your package to this UPS Store does *not* count as giving it to a UPS driver. These stores are independently operated. So, they can scan your package at the store, but it's meaningless until the driver scans it. Expensive lesson learned. Pay for a UPS pickup and avoid this place. read more

DO NOT USE THIS STORE. I shipped all of my belongings for a cross country move. One of my boxes was returned to the store address. I spoke with a very rude associate who called to let me know and he told me I could call the manager, Nancy, the following day. I called back the following day and spoke to Nancy and explained the situation to her (I no longer live in New York City). She said that it was my fault the package was redelivered, I must have called UPS to schedule a hold. I told her that was not the case and something must have happened when the store was processing the labels for them to be shipped. She was extremely rude and not helpful at all, nor sympathetic. All she would do is claim she is a franchise. Terrible customer service, not willing to claim responsibility for a mistake THEY made, and I had to pay the cost to ship the box again.
