I recently went to UPS to have a document notarized and the employee seemed confused and admitted it may not be correct. Even though it wasn't, it will work. A few days ago I was back to fax medical records. $3 for the first page and $1 for each additional page. I checked around afterwards and found that to be out of line with other retailers. I understand cost and overhead, but I found this completely out of the norm. I like the store very much, great customer service and always friendly. I am so upset and disappointed in this store and the owner, Janet. I needed to get my computer from Murfreesboro to California after moving and considered driving to TN to drive it back to California so it wouldn't be damaged. My computer was perfect and had been designed specifically for my needs. I spent thousands of dollars to have this computer built and it was in perfect condition. I went to UPS and they assured me that I could ship it through them and get insurance to cover it just in case. We had an entire conversation about how nervous I was about this. I took a risk and regret it. I got $5,000 worth of insurance just in case. When it arrived I FaceTimed my mother because I was excited. I needed to use it that night. I had been waiting on the computer to arrive to be able to set up an audiobook recording gig. The box seemed okay, just minor damage. The packaging seem okay however the screen was face down in the box and didn't have as much padding as I would have done myself but there was a lot of packaging on top of it. I was confused at why there wasn't a single fragile stamp on the box anywhere. I walked my mother through opening it. Everything seemed fine until I unwrapped the final bubble wrap which I had put on there myself. Glass went everywhere. The entire screen was shattered and the frame was bent. When I turned it on, it was slow and the screen was tinted pink with a grid across the entire screen. A couple of times it just cut off with no warning. That night I went online and filed a claim which turns out I did wrong. They say they called me the night I filed the claim but I had zero missed calls and no messages or email. I took screen shots of everything. I waited a while then finally my mom went to the store to see what the hold up was. We went through an entire process to file the claim correctly only for them to say they weren't sending anyone out to look at the damage and that they weren't going to pay. By this time, I had to purchase a new computer and would have used the money from the insurance as reimbursement. I have done nothing wrong and didn't need or want a new computer. What is the point of paying for insurance? I guess I should have assumed that they would try to do this and I should have videoed the entire process. At least I was on FaceTime and had a witness. At least I kept everything exactly as it arrived and heavily documented everything. I am glad I took screenshots of my original claim, too. I would not and cannot in good conscience recommend using UPS store #3534 or #3535 because they cannot be trusted to do the right thing. I spent $276 on insurance for nothing. I've never sued anyone in my life and honestly have never wanted to but also, it is not okay for people to treat other people like this. read more

Such a bad experience. The young white male who "helped" me was not helpful. He seemed to not know what he was doing. The first thing he asked me was did I have a qscan (or something like that) I said no then he asked me if I already had a label I said no. He asked if I had a address ( in a way of - do you at least have that) I said yes. He seemed overwhelmed and confused as to what to do since I had an larger item. I had a rug around 96 inches long and 7 inches height and depth. Weighing around 25 pounds. I was only shipping the rug back to Georgia which is the next state over. I had already done an online quote and the cheapest ups ground was around $42.00 I figured I would just let them print the label at the store so I didn't purchase. After taking the rug to the store I was told by the unhelpful. That the cheapest cost would be over $200.00 (that was the cost for next day air online) I asked him how is that possible since what I was quoted online he told me he could not speak for what's online. He even told me that I "have to take into account that it's not in a box". What the heck rugs are not shipped in boxes the plastic it comes in is the packaging. You can picture my annoyance. He seemed more concerned with asking me irrelevant questions like "what is the value of the rug" then even giving a little thought to what the real problem was. He seemed to want me out of his hair from the moment I walked in. I think he needs more training on customer service and his job. Rude Update: I spoke with the manager via email about this. She tried to explain to me how "every inch counts" and she sent over a number of price quotes for various sizes. Some sizes were larger then my item yet every price she gave was still cheaper then the over $200.00 her worker wanted to charge me. When I pointed this out to her I never heard back from her. Very shady. That worker is either dumb don't know how to do his job, intentionally trying to over charge, or just didn't want to deal with the woman of color. It's either 1 of those or all 3.
