I have used UPS stores many times in different cities in different locations. This one has got to be by far the most expensive store I've ever been to. They charge me $70 to pack a piece of artwork. That did not include any shipping. It was not very large, and yes it had glass but all it needed was some bubble wrap and put inside a box. The charge was $70 including $20 for "labor". Even though there was no one else on the premises they still make me come back for it. I told him that it would be under my sons name and was very clear about that. When my son got there he waited 30 minutes because they told him they did not have any packages under his name. He insisted it was there and they let him look and it was there clear as day with his name on it. Overall a terrible experience read more

I've lived here 25 years and never had any problem with this store before today. Staff were always helpful and pleasant. Today they were shockingly rude. AT&T had given me a box and instructions on how to wrap my old modem. I gave this store the info as AT&T had instructed and the clerk very rudely snapped at me that they would not ship for free as AT&T had promised because it was an old modem that AT&T won't pay to ship. I insisted that what he was telling me was the opposite of what AT&T had told me and that obviously somebody was wrong. He insisted in an unpleasant way that it wasn't he who was wrong. I tried to work with him but to no avail. His tone and body language were nasty as he pointed to a code number on my info sheet and said they won't ship that item. I pointed out to him that he was looking at the wrong number, whereupon he became even more angry, ripped open my box, tore out all the contents, dropping some on the floor, scanned the modem itself and realized that AT&T had indeed prepaid the shipping. He followed that with no apology, just more surly behavior. I asked the (female) manager if he was new there, and he suddenly announced that he didn't like my attitude, that I needed to "learn a lesson" (yes, his exact words) and that he was refusing to serve me -- and was throwing me out of the store. He told me to go to Tiburon and look for the UPS store there, and he shoved the remains of my ripped up box back in my face. I have never in my life been thrown out of a store or been treated like this by any store employee. I didn't have time to go to Tiburon, so what the heck, I apologized to him (even though I felt I had done nothing wrong) and once he seemed to feel he had "taught a lesson" to me and humiliated me, he wrapped up the modem in a different box, throwing out another item (the modem stand) and a note that I had attached to the modem. I asked him to keep those items with the modem but he and his manager refused, tossing them in the trash with a gesture that demonstrated pure contempt.. What happened to all the years of pleasant employees at this store who knew how to act professionally? Does this store now pay its employees so little that it can't get people who are able to handle basic customer service? Is this store making so little money that it's on the verge of going out of business? I see that I am not the first customer to have this experience, so something is seriously wrong in this location. So sad that after so many years of good experiences with good staff, things have to turn this way. read more

Great place to ship and receive packages and mail. The staff is always courteous and efficient when I visit. Just ensure that your packages are properly packaged before you arrive, as (with most shipping services) packaging supplies are not complimentary. read more

If it was possible to give zero stars I would in this situation. I went in to make a copy, two pages black and white. I had to go out in the parking lot and walk halfway to Whole Foods to get the email to send, apparently Verizon doesn't have service in their store. Then when the guy rang me up he charged me $4.50 for my two pages. When I told him how ridiculous that was he told me there was a $3.50 charge because he had to access the store email to print my document. Are you kidding me? I will never come back here again. This locations forces its customers to ship packages via Red overnight or Blue 2 day service...they do not and never have had ground service way bills. Insane... read more

I've been a super happy mailbox rental customer in this UPS store since 2002, and have always received kind service and appreciation for my business. From excellent notary assistance to selecting shipping supplies or sending/receiving packages, I've always experienced wonderful professionalism from the staff. Angelo is very thoughtful and recently carried several big, heavy boxes I'd received out to my car. (And since being impacted by the October wildfires, I've had A LOT of replacement items shipped to my mailbox for months.) I'm especially thankful, too, for the incredibly generous owner who hasn't charged me for my mailbox since then. read more

Too bad there isn't a zero. I have used UPS stores all over the country with great success. In moving from one home to another they have been so helpful in getting our mail and packages forwarded and in some cases we have become friends with the owner or manager. So the first thing we did when we got here was pay for a box at this UPS store. That would make us what is often called a customer. This place should be taken over by UPS. I was humiliated yesterday by a young man behind the counter because he couldn't take the time to communicate with me. I am recovering from head and neck cancer and don't hear well and speak with a gravely voice. But he didn't ask for me to help him to understand. He simply walked away without a word and disappeared, leaving me standing there with about 15 people in the line behind me. After about 15 minutes the other employee who clearly also had an attitude told me that his colleague could refuse to work with any person he wanted and that if I wanted help I would have to go to the back of the line, still about15 deep. This was after waiting about 30 minutes to get to the counter. I left with what I considered to be a well deserved expletive. Only today did I see the rest of these reviews. Where the hell are the owners? Where the hell is UPS? Save yourself some grief. Stay away from this place. read more

I had the worst experience at this Mill Valley UPS store. The employee Erica, barely greeted me but took my package and proceeded to roll my package, a large but light-weight box, on the floor like tumble weed. When I gently suggested that while it wasn't glass in the box, it would be best to keep it upright and not roll it, I got a snide remark back. This all in front of the owner/boss. While I stand there watching her manhandle my package and shove the credit card slip at me, she never looked or addressed me, just carried on conversations with the boss. It had to be the rudest experience I ever had in a retail store. I will never return again. The other mail packaging store on Miller Avenue, or even the nearby US Post Office would be a far better and more pleasant option. read more

Love this place. I've been using them for the last 4 years now for my small business. They always call me when boxes come in and they know my name. Erica, Angelo and Dan are always ready to help me load boxes or anything else that I might need. There is no turnover in staff. Zero stars would be more correct This review is for Notary services ONLY I called to learn about implementation of notary services I spoke with a woman who said it was ten dollars per notary and that no appointment was needed I walked in for service the next day Was instructed to return in 30 minutes as the notary person was out on an errand and upon my return I was told the notary was now on break I asked if I could make an appointment to avoid this problem I work and thus this experience was rather inconvenient (as notarizing documents always are... I still don't understand it at all) 2 young almost body guard looking staff members stood with arms crossed and refused to make an appointment Another woman there at the same time had apparently just had the same experience and we both agreed they cannot seem to execute this process and we would go elsewhere If you need a notary in mill valley go to the print suit at 20 sunnyside ave 415-686-4068 they were helpful and fast and the job is done ! read more

So sad. The staff in here used to be fantastic, I went in today (and obviously new staff)..oh my....very very rude. The guy in there has a serious self importance issue!! Owner responded quickly to my complaint, although he apologized for MY misunderstanding. UPS Store Mill Valley is HORRENDOUS. I was given wrong information about shipping costs and packing, was treated horribly, and all three employees act like complete mental retards and they really are horrible. When I arrived at the store one employee who had given me wrong information said "Oh, I hope you wouldn't come here because I told you wrong things on the phone." All three employees acted shocked when I said I planned to insure my package for 8000. and they acted like they didn't even realize they were working in a shipping store. I had a very frustrating and horrible experience with this store then drove to San Rafael UPS store and had a great experience. I've enjoyed the San Rafael store several times. read more

I have used UPS stores for years to make copies, return packages etc. I have NEVER received worse service at a UPS sore...or ANY other store ANYWHERE for that matter. I paid (too much) to have 300 copies of our Christmas letter printed. When I returned, I picked them up only to discover as I was mailing them there were only 150. I returned the following day to get the other letters printed and at 3 in the afternoon there was NO one there. (It was a Saturday before Christmas mind you...very busy time.) I was desperate to get the letters out, so I went elsewhere to get the additional 150 letters I needed to mail. When I returned to UPS the following week for what I assumed would be an automatic reimbursement (MORE than $50.) I was greeted by rudeness beyond any I have experienced. I was lied to, and told a series of changing stories...they never left the store that Saturday (there were 3 other people standing outside the closed store that day)...they had a camera record of their handing me the letters (the letters had been pointed out to me sitting on a counter by an employee at the back of the store)...really just too many to even repeat...including calling me a scam artist! When I informed them I would be writing a yelp review the manager told me she didn't even pay attention to the reviews any more...there were just too many bad reviews to care!! How can this sort of business continue to exist. Something should be done about this place!!! There is an excellent UPS store not more than 2 miles away in the Cove Shopping Center...great service...helpful, informative. Go there if at ALL possible!! read more

Yes, it's true. This place is as bad as everyone here says it is. I've used this store, periodically, for years without a problem. But there is a guy working there now named Angel (or Angelo?) who is so incredibly and unnecessarily rude, I cannot understand why he hasn't been fired yet. If I owned this place, I'd fire him. I now use the UPS store in Tiburon in the Cove Shopping center, at 1 Blackfield Drive, just down the road a bit, even though I live in Mill Valley b/c I refuse to go to a store that hires clerks who snap at their customers (for example "I'm busy!" - when I asked him a question when we was talking with another employee -- NOT another customer). I see from all these other comments that this is a regular problem. read more

CAREFUL with your $. Needed a box to ship clothes while traveling. Bought one for $6.50 with $20 and walked to car five steps away. Put box in car and realized I never got change or receipt. Went back into store. Before I spoke clerk said "I gave you your change." I disagreed as I had neither receipt, bills nor coin. A well-practiced process of denial followed - backed up the manager. So, in a word, be careful here and make sure you get and count your change. read more

I just had the worst customer experience I have experienced in years. I have frequently taken stuff here to have boxed up and then shipped it from the post office. The rude desk clerk told me that rules have changed and they can no longer do that if it's not shipped UPS at almost twice the price of USPS. I asked him why they didn't notify customers of this new rule. He offered no explanation and then tried to charge me for the box and simple packaging at $22, when flat rate for same size box at the post office is $12. When I refused to pay, he argued with me and told me never to set foot inside his store again (which I will certainly NOT do). He said, "We will remember you if you ever come here again." All I know is I wish I could work here because they seemed to get paid to do nothing. I made a mistake and came here one day because it was convenient I had a project I needed shipped not even packed just shipped. The two guys.. thats a stretch more like kids behind the counter didn't even want to quote me the cost to ship my package and one of them simple put it "it's going to be a lot of money sorry". Well I'm aware of that im sending a 30x30 piece of art I also needed insurance as well and it's not my first time doing this kinda of transaction at a UPS Store I knew the costs would be high, but instead of taking my money they simply let me walk out only to give my business to someone else which btw laughed at the fact that they let a high dollar sale leave and were greatful to have my business which they always had to being with I just happen to be close to this place. This place has consistently horrible customer service! I stopped doing business here about 5 years ago when I had several ridiculously terrible experiences with the owner. Two days ago I was doing a friend a favor by dropping off a pre paid package for her. First time I'd been in the store in the five years. Erica, the manager, could not have been more rude and unfriendly. Does everyone at this place hate their jobs? Rude, rude, rude! I called asking help with tracking my lost package and was told "You'll have to call back tomorrow. I can't search your tracking number. Only a manager can do it and she's not here today". That seemed odd. I called the next day to say that I thought my package had been returned to their store and was told "You'll have to call back later. We're busy". Stunned at their phone manners, I headed to the store where I was met with every defensive measure they could fling at me from "your slip is old" to "your son's apartment refused delivery". Finally, they located my 10-day old package in the back room. Boy, did they stick to their story that my son's apartment had refused the package even though my printed tracking history showed it hadn't been anywhere near my son's city, let alone his apartment. Another woman next to me was thrown a similar list of excuses on her botched shipment, mostly blaming her. They just don't listen - they just charge right into their spiel of excuses. It was embarrassing for them because we had the facts which we had to repeat over and over and over. Their attitude is "Hey, customer, you're really stupid until you can prove to me that you're not".
