The owner of this store should lose his franchise. I had the absolute rudest encounter in his store, and certainly will not visit his location again. Unfortunately for UPS, I will direct all my shipping needs to other carriers. That's how bad this man's behavior was. Sad. read more

To anyone shipping using the UPS Store in the Cove shopping center. I don't appreciate being taken advantage of during the holiday shipping rush. I was just at the UPS Store in the Cove and asked to ship a box using the UPS Flat Rate Service for a box under 1,728 cu in. The UPS Simple Flat Rate for that size of a box would have been $22.30. The store manager emphatically stated that UPS does not offer a flat rate service similar to FedEx and USPS.  I was in a hurry, so I did not have time to look it up. I ended up paying $48.xx + $10 insurance. This isn't a big deal, but clearly I was given the wrong information. This is a UPS store and the staff should be familiar with UPS offerings. The store should notify customers that UPS offers a Flat Rate service, allowing them to print the label online and drop off the box at your store. This is the only UPS location I've been to that charges to tape up boxes! And charges $3 per box! I happened to be in the neighborhood with a small box to return to Target so this was my first time at this location and my last. I usually go to the Mill Valley location or the one in SF near my workplace and have never been charged for this. Lesson learned. read more

Beware International Insurance. I shipped a computer to Philippines and it never arrived and no signature or proof of delivery. UPS Store did not cover it because they said that proof of delivery not required when shipped overseas. So I'm out the cost of the computer, the cost of insurance and the duties that I had to pay. The employee in the UPS Store said that I should not have shipped it through a UPS Store since the "UPS Store insurance is no good" since they don't need to provide proof of delivery. This goes against all assurances that I was given before I paid for the insurance. The owner promised to pay out of pocket but that was many months ago and he now hides from me when I visit his Sausalito or UPS stores. Employees say that I would have to have the owner resolve the issue but he has now gone dark. Another employee agreed that my only recourse is to sue the owner. This is a Horrible way to do business! read more

Excellent customer service. The 2 employees helped me with documents and were extremely helpful and friendly. An elderly lady came in and was having problems with one of the machines. I was watching. All the people here are really nice and helpful. I just moved from SF and had no idea where to go to have some docs notarized and emailed as all my office supplies were still in boxes. They also practice good social distancing & have anti-bacterial hand gel. They were incredibly kind to my chatty husky who demands treats upon entering. They spoil her and give her a few treats and now this is her new favorite place to visit. lol! I'm relieved to know I don't need to drive into the city as I can now count on this store for all my office needs. Thanks guys! read more

This store's team are so helpful! I run a small business and need to return items, mail packages and get my team livescans often. They are always welcoming, professional, and efficient. Every employee acts like they really care about the customers and try to make you feel important. I've been to many other UPS stores where they have been careless with Livescans, causing some problem with getting it approved like a type-o on a social or some other important info. I recommend everyone to do Livescans here because they are careful and check their work even without anyone asking. It's funny to say that going to UPS is one of my favorite errands because of the folks that work at UPS. Thank you! read more

I'm SO glad I gave this UPS Store a second chance. As you may have read in my previous review, I didn't have a stellar first experience (due to an apathetic, young employee). Since then, I have returned here multiple times for purchasing stamps; making shipments; and even for basic scanning/printing services. And I'm happy to report that the staff is totally on top of their game now. BTW, they also have a terrific selection of humorous birthday cards. I know - kind of random. But still... pretty cool. Love this place - Expect Great service, the very nicest staff, free parking and tons of mailing items your forgot you needed (i.e. padded envelopes, pens cards, tape, etc. ) Post Offices are few and far between in Marin. These guys beat any UPS, FedEx or Postal service I've used before for fast, friendly and efficient service! Someone has trained them well in CUSTOMER SERVICE. In and out in just a few minutes (sometimes that is a good thing!!!). Just bring them your "widgit" and it will be packed and shipped promptly. Returning items to Amazon. Came because of great reviews, the reviews are so true! Nice big environment, feel warmly welcomed. For returning Amazon packages I did not have tapes and did not print out the labels. The guy took care of everything, usually at USPS I would be asked to buy tapes to seal anything for shipping. I recently paid this store to pack some expensive and delicate vintage car parts for shipping across the country. The person who dropped them off didn't observe the packing process closely and why should they? We were paying the UPS store to pack items securely for shipping by UPS. I think it goes without saying that they should be experts in this area. Several days later the parts arrived right on time, but I knew there was trouble before I even opened the box as I could hear the parts rattling around inside. The parts included a nicely finished aluminum polished wheel, some chrome trim pieces, a steering wheel, and a horn pad. Rather than wrap any of the items individually, it appears the store employee simply stacked the parts together, one on top of the other and metal on metal, threw some loose bubble wrap around the whole mess, and threw the pile of parts in a box with some peanuts sprinkled on top for good luck. The parts then traversed the country rattling around inside the box and against each other for a couple thousand miles and damaging beyond belief every single item. I honestly couldn't believe it when I opened the box. It could not have been more obvious that the store employee who was paid to pack these parts simply didn't care as there is no possible way anyone with even a trace of a brain in their head could have thought that the items in question had any chance of arriving at their destination undamaged. My advice? Avoid this store if you value the items you're shipping. You'll be glad you did. read more

Love that it's so close to where I live. This store seemed pretty friendly, accommodating an assortment of I'm-special-isn't-it-cute-how-my-dog-is-sniffing-you crowd. They charge $1 to tape your boxes if you're unable to do it yourself. Sounds fair. The guy who helped me was friendly, thorough and I have no complaints. Not sure if Covid is an explanation for the terrible customer experience I received from a clerk today but I decided to go elsewhere after lugging three boxes into the store to ship - it was that bad. And boy am I glad I took my business to the UPS store next to Good Earth in Mill Valley. So here's what went wrong (1) his language contained a lot of attitude right away, not anything I've experienced there before and I even ship wine to that location for a fee (2) when I came in with my second heavy box, he didn't even bother to let me know where to place it and when I asked - he rudely said "just anywhere" (3) he asked me if I shipped to the particular address before and when I said yes and told him the name, he said nope using his ups system (yes he was wrong when I told the other ups store who uses the same system) and (4) frustrated that I was being treated so poorly by the young man and told him I was not shopping with them, as I was taking my three boxes out, he proceeded to shower me with kind comments like "have a nice day". I mean talk about an a$&@ole after a customer walks away with three heavy boxes because of terrible treatment... Again - this is the only bad experience I've had with this store and remembering possibly the other guys there who had been professional and supportive before I said "please don't talk to me" in a tone that was clear to everyone in the store my displeasure. Not sure if there are any consequences or if anyone pays attentions to this review or the commotion at the store but during Covid - my attitude is that everyone, customer and store - should try extra hard to make it easier, not harder. And I'm happy to say that of all the stores I go to each day and each week - today was the only experience in front of everybody that I've had at this ups. Hope it gets better read more

Went in today for a standard transaction: overnight shipping. I didn't catch his name but he was super helpful and we talked really easily. It reminded me of why I choose to live in a town like Tiburon, that easygoing community feel where you don't have to know someone to talk easily. I had used this store and loved it - until it was re-vamped after a flood closed it for several months. It's obviously under different management now - the customer service is unbelievably bad and they are charging nearly double the prices that other UPS Stores are charging. I recently had two experiences - the first when I brought out some unbreakable presents for them to box and send to my son on the east coast. I had carefully bound things together but the person waiting on me just threw them all together and said they would box them up later. I really worried about how they were going to be boxed but paid $32 and left. Two days ago, I took out an 18 lb. air purifier that needed to be returned to the manufacturer and was told that it would cost $124 to ship it PLUS the cost of the box and packing. They were extremely rude when I took it back. I then went to another UPS Store in San Rafael - shipped it for $84 (same UPS ground shipping). I'll never go back there - and I encourage anyone thinking of shipping via UPS, FedEx or USPS to consider taking it to another UPS Store. read more

This store is AWESOME. It is by far the best UPS Store I've ever been to. I went in to ship a $15,000 piece of art to Europe and my mind was put completely at ease by their professional service, superior shipping/packing knowledge, and courteous manner. They patiently explained to me their packaging process and all the materials they would use. My packages arrived in Paris in pristine condition. I even called to thank them and tell them how impressed I was. I now frequent the store for their many services such as notaries, passport photos, USPS, or even to say 'Hi' to the friendly employees. I will even go out of my way to use this store because they are the best at what they do. read more

Previous owner Frank provides great service in the last ten years I visited this store. He is now retiring and has transferred the ownership. First encounter with the new owner has been disappointing. He charged insurance for my delivery way, way above UPS rate. When challenged, he said this store does not follow UPS insurance quotation. They set their own rate for "better customer service" when shipment experiences problems. Above all, his attitude of "take it or leave it" does not reflect UPS way of doing business. read more

I came in here very agitated because DMV told me the wrong information regarding fingerprinting. All the workers were very respectful and courteous and one girl spent twenty minutes (out of kindness) to help me find the right place to contact regarding the prints. After the 4th time, I complained to the manager, and got a very snarky, nasty response. Really disappointed and not sure how to best express my frustration. Used them to send sports equipment to my son at college and the equipment was destroyed (despite having survived 2 years in competitive sports). While I realize this part may not be the local business's fault, they added insult to injury be responding to my claim with an insulting form letter reprimanding me for not having had them package it. It was packaged in the same way it has traveled by car, bus, train, and airplane for 2 years, and they were the only ones who managed to destroy the equipment. Not only did they refuse to pay for the equipment, they didn't even refund the relatively steep price to send it in the first place. Lesson learned...pay them extra to package it and buy insurance. It is just really frustrating to pay that much money to ship something that they destroyed and then be treated this way. I will look for any other possible option for the holidays. read more

There is no question that this store is Top Notch.. I have a private mailbox there, and was thinking about saving the money and finding something cheaper.. NO WAY!! 10 months ago I had to take off suddenely as my mother was quite ill and I stayed with her till her passing....What happened in the next 10 months was shocking even to me.. This store with it's profound Owner , Frank, took care of ABSOLUTELY everything for me while i was away..... They forwarded me my mail in 8 different places. They called to make sure i was still at the proper address. They held packages for me for 10 months, until I got home without a word said. They even called if I got a "red flag" letter, like from the registry that looked important and may have needed to be attended to.. I felt like I had a mail mid-wife, a private secretary that i could count on which allowed me to relax and not worry about if i was paying the bills on time ect.... I could not write enough positive things about this company and the usefullness of paying that LITTLE extra to house my mail box in there "suites"! -Not to mention they get to know you and when you drive up and if they see you, your mail is waiting on the counter for you with a smile...............So if you live in th area please check them out, they are more than worth it! Got great service from these guys. The MV USPS is bad, and the Sausalito USPS near where I work even worse, so I'm really glad to have these guys nearby.
