On 4/9/14 I went to the UPS Store for the first time at this location. Also, keep in mind I rarely if ever mail anything via UPS.I chose UPS because I had an important package that was time sensitive and needed a tracking number.
I entered the store with one of my friends, I noticed a man behind the counter, but he did not utter a word to us as we entered. I finally spoke up and said that I had a package I needed sent out aslo, I needed to print up a one page document. He condescendingly said, "Do you have it on something?" I replied, "Yes a thumb drive." then he said again, "Do you have it?" I was taking back at that point he was making me feel like I was stupid. I kept my cool and my friend and I looked at eachother like what is going on? I handed him the thumb drive. words were exchanged as to were it was and the doc name it was under and he printed it.
He never asked me how I would like to ship my package, and I was under the impression it would go UPS as I was in a UPS store.
He weighed my packaged told me the amount and handed me my receipt and we proceeded to leave, then I turned around and asked when it would arrive at it's destination. He said Monday. I said thank you and we left.
I looked at my receipt when I got home to email my client the tracking number but it wasn't there. My friend suggested I call to get it over the phone. I did just that. When I called Barry answered (the same man behind the counter) I asked him where my tracking number was and he looked up my name. Problem was my name wasn't in the computer, he said if your name isn't in the computer it was mailed via the postal service. I told him that I came into the store to mail it UPS not through the post office." I wish you would have told me it was going via regular mail." He said, "You didn't ask."
I was upset with that comment and just said thank you, and hung up.
I then called my client to let her know it was coming regular mail. I appologized she was very kind and said that she would look out for it.
Monday came around and I went out to get my mail and found my package was returned to me due to ensufficant postage. I was so upset, this was supposed to be in my clients hands right now but it was in mine.
I called back the UPS Store again and Barry anwered. I told him what had happened and he told me, It was the post office fault. "There is a guy there that always screws up the weight machines." I ask if he had recently check his weight machine and how long ago it was callobrated (serviced) and he replied, "It's not my equiptment this happens all the time, the post office screws it up!" As to not upset him anymore I said, "Ok I'm not blaming anyone but could you please do me a favor and ship this package over night via UPS? This was supposed to be in my clients hands today, right now. If I had known you sent this via post office I would have gone to the post office I expected UPS to delivery this that is why I chose this store." His response floored me. "You didn't ask for it to be shipped UPS." and "If you want to pay for it I'll ship it overnight via UPS" I responded, "You never gave me a choice, not once did you ask how I would like this shipped." He stuck to his guns and said, "If you want to pay for it I'll ship it overnight for you." I then told him he had terrible customer service and I would not use his store again. We hung up the phone.
I will tell all my clients, friends, neighbors and family NEVER to use this store. I called today to speak to the owner and guess what...his name is Barry the same person who failed to give me the proper information, never offered me any options, did not greet me as I walked into his store and was condescending.
Barry Staph has bad customer service and put the blame on others, never once did he appologize for any mistakes he made with me and would not take ownership of any wrong doing. If I could I wouldn't give one star but I had to give a star to make the review. read more
