I have had really good to excellent service in this store for several years. For the past year - while they have been dealing with Covid, masks, and an apparent increase in customers dealing with Ecommerce returns - they have gotten even better. I use them for mailing packages, returns, copying and notary services. Efficient, easy to deal with, friendly. And patient even when their customers are a bit cranky. Sometimes they get super busy and they are more "efficient" than "friendly." I guess that is why maybe some people leave negative reviews ?? Personally, I am not looking to make a friend for life when I go to the UPS store, nor do I need someone to treat me like a prince - I just want to get s*** done. Totally Dishonest! I shipped a 40ib box to my son in Port Angeles on a Saturday from the UPS store in Issaquah. The cost including them packing was $49 and it arrived on two days later Monday. I asked for a next day delivery but they shipped it UPS Ground instead. They were honest and knew it wouldn't make a difference to charge me more. Mercer Island UPS I was shipping another package to my son smaller than a shoe box (3lb). The clerk said $10.30 and I repeated that number to her to confirm. When checking my bank account the next day, I discovered the charge was $110.00! It could have shipped UPS Ground and arrived two days later. What this store should have done presented all options and the delivery day/times. When I called, they said everything looks good on their end. They need to really think about improving their customer service, no wonder why they received 2 stars on Yelp. I received a package and was left here for pickup and waited for about 15 min. Then the trainee greeted me and gave me my package. When I asked if they can ship my package to california, she said it's her second day and that she doesn't know how to do that. So she called the only other employee who was talking on his cell phone to come and help. He acknowledged and continued to talk on his cellphone. I must've waited for about 7 min and I said what kind is service is this? I can see the trainee is confused and nervous because I have been waiting there for almost 25min for a simple transaction. Needed one strip of tape to secure the top of a small box for a return. They would not provide a strip of tape so I bought a full roll of tape and gave it back to them. Hopefully they will take this as a pay it forward for the next person that needs a strip of tape. read more

The same type of QR code was used many times before at other UPS stores (Factoria, Issaquah, New Castle and Bellevue downtown, just name a few). In fact the same packages was later accepted by another UPS store and credited back to my account already). I had an Amazon return experience that started off badly at the UPS store all because Amazon had a glitch in its QR code return functionality that evening. After nearly an hour of triaging, over 4, yes 4 different Amazon Customer Service calls, the UPS staff and a UPS driver took matters into their own hands to resolve the situation. The UPS driver waited over 30 minutes to ensure he had my package before he continued on his route for the evening. I wish I had gotten his name. Moreover, two UPS Store employees, stayed beyond their closing time while I was on the multiple calls with Amazon trying to get them to correct their mistake. If it were not for the UPS Store employees and the UPS driver there that night to pick up packages, I would still be dealing with the issue Amazon created and never could resolve. I have NEVER had worse service ANYWHERE at any UPS, FedEx, etc it doesn't matter. Came here to return a rug which I thought would be a simple return. From the second I walked in to the second I walked out the employees were rude. I had them scan my return barcode and they immediately were like "yeah we can't return this like this!" And I'm like, what? It's never been an issue when UPS comes and picks it up from my front door? I wasn't being rude, I was simply confused because I'd never had an issue before. They said it needed to be wrapped & I have pay $10, ok no problem. That wasn't an issue. But they continued to be rude even as I pulled out my credit card. Then I asked why it had to be wrapped when UPS has picked up rugs from my front door before and It's never been wrapped and it wasn't an issue. Then the lady SCREAMED at me from across the store telling me they're not actually UPS or affiliated with UPS in anyway and that they can't do anything UPS can do.. Literally worst experience I've ever had. Avoid this place. Every single employee was rude. I saw you responded back and continued to be rude and blame me. What great service. When UPS picks us from me I've never had an issue. They're always kind. Your employees explained to me with HUGE attitudes as if I should know I needed to wrap it with plastic when I've returned 5+ rugs never wrapped before and it's never been an issue. And yes the lady did yell at me because she was standing across the store. Please don't try and lie when you comment back to your 1 star reviews to make yourself look better. All it does it make you look worse and further show how awful your service is. You really need to be kinder to your customers. I was willing to pay, that not a problem. That was never the problem. I really didn't believe her when she told me her name and am concerned that she gave me the caucasian lady's name. UPS delivery incorrectly delivered a package to the store and I attempted to collect it today. I greeted the person behind the screen when she called for the next person. She ignored my greeting. I showed her the text notification with my tracking which she glanced at and demanded identification. I suggested that she was missing the word 'please'. I was very disrespected at this location. I returned to this location to purchase stamps although I had not had a good experience in the past & had written a review. It just so happened that the same person was helping me, she started raising her voice at me telling me I had lied about her & that if I didn't like the service to go elsewhere. Very unfortunate experience with UPS store. I came in to get a document notarized. Rachel the notary said no. Just straight no. I asked her if there was anyone I could talk to about it. She said no. I asked if there was any further steps she recommend I take. she said she didn't know any of them. I said is there anything you can do to help me. She said no. It was basically a festival of no. Horrible service. Just was there trying to mail something via UPS. I have a prepaid label and just need a box. She directs me to a mailing tube and says see if your items will fit. I walk over and tell her they don't. I need a regular box, of which I'm perfectly happy to pay for. She has already decided to eliminate me from the line of people waiting and starts helping someone else. I wait and wait....I've clearly lost my spot and she wants nothing to do with me. It was literally 10 seconds I walked over to the mailing tubes that she asked me to check. With so few places in Mercer Island to get anything done business wise, this is yet another frustrating experience that makes me angry I have to drive to Seattle or Bellevue for everything. read more

I dropped off a package in December - it went missing and even with security cameras - no one can seem to find this missing box with some expensive boots and shoes in them. Strange Then when my daughters dress was shipped in- guy tried to tell me that there was nothing in the store going to our address. I had to pull up the tracking to show him it was there for him to look for it. Most ridiculous and least useful group with the most lack of customer service and you can't talk to an owner or manager ever. No one cares. Do not use them. Yet the amazon drop off in Eastgate is totally helpful and helps problems solve. Sad to say that UPS and their stores have really gone down hill. This is the worst UPS store ever. For many years, they have been so rude, mix up packages, mix up mail and "lose" mail, as if they have read the name wrong. Today, four people were in line, for social distancing... the owner, who was working today, looked at the line and helped the next customer. He yelled at her to stand behind the yellow line and at the same time, made her take everything out of her box, and made her tell him everything that was inside the box! At the same time yelling at her to stay behind the yellow line. He was trying to stall the people in line for sure. We waited a whole 10-15 minutes to be finished with this poor customer. I ended up leaving, he was being extremely rude to his customers and his one other staff member who was trying to help the line go faster. He ordered her to stay in the back. Awful business. Dear owner of this location, i have been coming here for well over 10 years. i know staffing is tough in this labor market but the service here is terrible. I come here nearly every month for 10 years to pick up a package that is pre-paid and the last three months I've been hit up and harassed for a delivery fee. I have complained numerous times to the sender who has escalated this issue and confirmed UPS policy. Please follow policy and stop the harassment. At 5:17 I went to your store to pick it up. I presented the ticket to a very nice young man who looked at it for a moment, and then a very angry woman came over and pushed the ticket out of the way and said to the employee in a very negative way " that is not for us, we don't use that at all" She then asked the nice young man to see my ID. I presented my ID and told them that I saw the package on the shelf. It had most of the letters of my last name. fjkdajfdl;jl; (Don't want to post real name) - I pointed out that was the package that I was here to pick up. The manager (who would not give me her name) told me that the name first name on my ID does not match the name on the package. I had the ticket from UPS to pick up the package which had my address on it and I pointed out that the address on the package and the address on my license was the same. The manager said that I needed to produce and email showing that it was my package. I told her that I did not have my phone and just needed to pick up my package. My mother had sent me a Mother's Day present and she and my family call me YUIOU my given name is ^Y(*&(). I tried to explain and she still persisted and said I needed some proof other than the UPS slip with my address and driver's license with the exact same address as the package. She told me that in the future, they should use the same name as on my driver's license to send packages. My mother has been sending me packages for 30 years and this has never been a problem until today. I asked the manager if she could release the present, which my mother sent since I had the ticket that proved that a delivery was attempted and I had a valid WA Driver's License with my Last name and address that matched the package. I was frustrated at this point because there have been many instances where my husband has picked up a package for me and the names certainly did not match. She got very belligerent and called me "Karen" told me that I was rude and that she had to follow directions. She finally surrendered the package as two of the other good patrons in your store started to ask this manager, "really - you are not going to give this person her package". It was very nice for them to stand up for me and I am grateful as I think that their pressure forced this unhappy, nasty, person to give me my package. I hope that since we have many professional well-mannered people who are in need of a job during this time you might consider letting this manager go and hire someone who will take care of your customers. read more

RUN. Go elsewhere!  Patronize any of the other UPS Stores (3) or PakMail (1) located in nearby Bellevue, Factoria and Newcastle. I purchased a one year box rental for my Mom after she left her Mercer Island apartment to enter hospice at a nursing home. I thus had a place for parcels and also set-up automatic monthly mail forwarding to my out-of-state address. That worked out smoothly about half the time but still required a telephone reminder the other half of the time. Interpersonal staff interactions at this location are just painful. The staff are alternately angry, sad, harried or abusive. The staff churns on a regular basis. Don't expect to be treated professionally, much less kindly. I recently picked up the mail in-person and simply asked for a sturdy envelope  since I was immediately heading out in the weather to a flight at SeaTac. "We can't do that...Store Policy." I mentioned that I was certainly willing to PAY for a suitable  envelope but they wouldn't budge. I expressed my dismay. The young (mid-20s) clerk went off on me in front of three other customers stating "I don't like your attitude! I only make minimum wage and YOU live on Mercer Island!" I quietly reminded her that I actually live 1200 miles away. She then walked into the back room literally yelling at me "I'm not helping you, what a terrible day!" Indeed. Later that evening, when I looked at the mail at 30,000 feet onboard my flight, a full one-third of the mail was for OTHER mailbox numbers or PREVIOUS mailbox tenants at our mailbox number.  I should not have been surprised. Over the past ten months, I've routinely had to place important-looking first class mail from financial and legal entities that was addressed to others BACK into the USPS system so it might possibly be sorted correctly by this store on the second time-around. Evidently, the ownership churns at this store in addition to the staff.  UPS Corporate came in earlier this year and attempted to resolve the considerable number of issues at this store without much success.  If UPS Corporate won't just close this doomed store that has consistently tarnished their international brand on Mercer Island for over a decade, the US Postal Inspection Service certainly has the ability to do so. This UPS Store location is playing VERY loose with several of the federal postal regulations that govern Private Mailbox Providers. If I could give this location zero stars, I would. I returned several items with Amazon's easy return process this afternoon. Two items were shoes that I carried into the store in their original shipping box (kind of hard to carry multiple pairs of shoes otherwise). The clerk proceeded to take the shoes out of their boxes which were then nested and pushed back at me. I asked the clerk behind the counter to keep the box, as I had no need for it. She refused. I left the box on the counter upon leaving. However, another woman behind the desk literally chased me out the door and to my car in the parking lot, where she left the box on the hood of my car and proceeded to yell at me. Since when was UPS so unprofessional and downright rude? Until they clean up their act and start providing professional, customer-friendly service and common courtesy, I would not recommend them. read more

Very disappointed in my experience here. For the record, I interacted with the owner during this. I had a part to a gun that needed to be shipped back. Mind you, it wasn't a fully loaded or even a whole firearm, it was a part. The woman behind the counter flat out told me that she doesn't support shipping gun parts. Additionally, I tried to buy a box from her after finding out her ideals were being tested and she REFUSED to sell it to me. Pretty sure that ISN'T UPS POLICY. You can have your opinion about guns, but honestly, that's a personal thing. Mixing business and personal doesn't work out. Still the same lousy UPS store it has ever been. It must have bad Karma, no matter how many time "new management" comes in, this store is still the worst UPS you will ever enter. Friendly but very slow female counter clerk spent 10 minutes entering shipping info into their computer. She got to the question about description of contents; I responded "empty ammo pouches" (for belts). The manager overheard my response and said to the clerk "We can't take it". I asked why, and restated they were empty. He just shook his head No. These were empty nylon ammo carriers, and were delivered to me by UPS. read more

I went on line and specifically made an appointment for a notary service at the Mercer Island UPS store. When I arrived they told me that they decided to discontinued the service. I pointed out that their site on-line was setting up appointments with no indication that they were no longer offering the service. They took no ownership of the problem and nonchalantly passed it off as a UPS corporate issue. I suspect they try to do that with any service issue and will not use this store again. read more

First time I haven't been asked to double check addresses of packages I was mailing. When I asked, the young clerk was definitely pissed off. Actually laughed with his other buddy.
