Amazing and seamless experience in what was bound for failure. I had a very sensitive couple of packages to be sent to me, however it was delayed a day or two (by the shipper, not UPS) and I had to go out of town. So unless I arranged for something, my sensitive packages would be sitting outside my door for over a week. I switched the package to a UPS store delivery for a fee, hoping they could hold the sensitive packages. Unfortunately, UPS only holds them for a few of days before, sending it back to the shipper. Anthony at the UPS store looked at my packages and arrange for them to be held for an extra five days. He had to go outside the system to do this, but in the end I was able to pick up the packages safe and sound. Anthony even recognized my name during the pick up as he was the one who held the packages for me originally, and I got to thank him in person for delivering my sensitive packages, safe and sound. I should mention that he was a super friendly guy, not only to me, but to all the customers in front of me while I was waiting in line. He did small favors of them, helping them label and pack things, when he didn't have to, and didn't sweat the small stuff. A lot of shipping places don't have this level of personalized service and are strict about the rules to the point that it negatively affects customer service. I would recommend this UPS store and Anthony to anyone with sensitive packages, and will be using the store and requesting him for my packing and shipping needs. read more

I went to mail a pillow and dog toy to my daughter In Alabama I was unclear whether I needed a 12 x 12 or a 14 x 14 but the woman I asked just kind of rolled her eyes and handed me the 14 x 14 box. I could buy four of this box for what this place charges it is highway robbery to charge $8.95 for a plain box that is ridiculously cheaply and thinly made. This store is an absolute rip off. They were very Kind and agreed that they would come to my car, retrieve the pkgs, and credit card, process them for shipping , and then return my card and receipt to me in the car. Brought in 4 pre-paid boxes, should take the clerk less than a minute to scan and pass on a receipt. After standing in line for about 5 minutes I was told" it will be about 20 minutes I'm starting a notary" Can you scan my boxes first they are prepaid.? No he's ahead of you.. there were 3 people behind me all with the same prepaid boxes/ labeled.. thought this was ridiculous. 4 people waiting for 20 minutes rather than make one person wait just one minute? I've had a mailbox at this UPS Store for 3 years. My satisfaction with the business has been improving over the past year because of the excellent, professional service of Maribel. Until this turn of events, I was disappointed because: 1. I paid for a mailbox, but received so little mail that my box was taken away some months ago (when the store moved to its new location), making me wait in line to learn if I have mail and to collect that mail. 2. As a franchisee, the store promotes the UPS brand, but won't do things that a UPS corporate location will do like accepting packages valued at over $1,000 (e.g. any laptop). Further the store says X and the UPS telephone agents say Y, explaining that "The Stores often say X because they are lazy." 3. Often the lines are very long, especially in the afternoon. Note to self: only visit early in the week, in the morning. Sometimes, the store is so understaffed that to get a receipt for a dropped-off package, I am queued up behind someone getting notary services. 4. I once arrived with a shipping label printed on plain paper, but the store would not / could not provide a plastic label holder. "Not our job." I returned home to tape on the label and then ordered 50 free pouches from UPS...and dropped half off at the store for the next customer. :-( I hope that the Store is able to retain Maribel, and hire more employees like her in the future. read more

I went the UPS store for document notary. There was only one staff available when I stepped into the store. The staff, Jason, did a great job of dealing with multiple customers at the same time. Notary of document was done quickly while he was working on courier shipment for other customers. Multi-tasking skills are very rare and Jason is one of the few people who have them. This store is absolutely ridiculous. I've gone in instead of my regular UPS store (on Alpine Rd) out of convenience and have left irritated every time. They tried to charge me $15 to "pack the box" for me. It was a HAT. A single hat that I needed a box for. So I said okay fine I'll "pack" it myself. And then she wanted to charge for the single strip of tape to close the box I was already paying for. I know it's not the employees fault, but WOW. This stores policies are absolutely horrible and exploitive. Obviously if I purchase a box, I need to put the item in it. I'm not requesting UPS to fold and organize multiple items. It's a hat. A previous time they told me they wouldn't accept a previously used box because it had "Amazon" on the side. The company I was sending it to will accept it in a recycled amazon box, but she said it wasn't "store policy" and I needed to purchase a new box. I've walked out both times without mailing packages. Returning some items that were prepaid return and needed to go to a UPS store. I called the 1-800- number and only got the location of the office on El Camino Real in Menlo Park. Then it dawned on me when I remembered this store because it is right next to the Martha's Pastries in the Sharon Heights Shopping Center. Lugged in my box in the pouring rain for return shipment with the corresponding numbers I was instructed to initiate my pre-paid return. The young dark haired girl at the desk and the much elder lady with an accent (Brit?) who I think is the owner were a bit confused as to how to properly process my order. A Indian looking gentleman came forward and seemed to know just what to do and walked her through the UPS screens and got everything done under Five Minutes and headed out the door with my receipt! Yea! After reading the other yelp reviews of some of the other UPS stores I would rate this above average experience as the team there stepped up to take care of me. Yesterday I had to return an Amazon package, usually, take to the Sharon Height UPS, but in printing the label, I had accidentally chosen the Whole Foods QR Code. Took it inadvertently to 2388. The team at 2388, helped me log into Amazon, find the return item, and get the UPS QR code, unexpectedly kind, and useful assistance. Really poor service. Dropped a package off, obtained a receipt, three weeks later it is no where to be found, very difficult to even get someone on the line to talk to. Finally spoke to Astaria, a supervisor, and she had nothing to say. When asked, they take no responsibility saying that things happen, no idea what happened, just file a claim. Extremely rude woman, who seemed to be the supervisor that day, rejected my package outright because it had small print on it (from a prior shipment) indicating it was once used for alcohol (a bottle of wine). Worth noting, I was extremely nice to her upon arriving, and all she had to do was scan the package (which was a return to a clothing store). I said there's no alcohol, and it was a return package. She looked at the label (which indicated it was a clothing return), and again rejected it. I asked what she wanted me to do? Can I cross out the very small text so I can reuse the box? NOPE! She told me if she sees me cross it out, she'll still reject it. She suggested I find another UPS store. So I went to my car, crossed out the label, waited in line again, and fortunately got a different clerk, who accepted my package. Funny enough, he also accepted another package from someone else with a 'restricted - lithium batteries' label on it, but instead of being a jerk, he asked the person, who said it was a label left on the box from a prior package. Sound familiar? AWFUL. That lady shouldn't be working a customer facing job. She was incredibly rude and unhelpful, for absolutely no reason whatsoever. read more

Boy, what a study in contrasts shipping three small packages recently. My experience in the store was very positive. The agent found just the right packaging, the addressing was productive, even for one package going to Canada. I chose UPS Standard service, for a total of $87 including packaging. My packages for Oregon and Washington showed up on schedule in a couple of business days. When my Canada package didn't arrive after a week I went online to their tracking site which said the package had been delivered, but that was not true. I sent an email to UPS customer service asking for more information, and got an autoresponse email saying I had contacted UPS headquarters and directing me to contact UPS Customer Service directly at 1-800-742-5877 visit www.ups.com or email customer.service@ups.com. I went back to the tracking site and it had changed to status "On the way", scheduled for nearly 3 weeks from my ship date, with no other location details. I called the Sharon Heights store, and first got routed down a frustrating voice response unit path that couldn't understand Canadian postal codes, and when I called back and spoke to an agent and told her I had a complaint she told me she was in the middle of something and I should call back in 15 minutes! Can't make this stuff up, too insensitive and not focused on customer care. My lesson is to never use UPS to ship outside the USA. Buh bye! read more

I would have given this store zero or lower score if I could. They tell me the same package which I can hand carry, 1x3 ft is too large and they cannot accept it. The same package that was delivered by UPS. There has been numerous issues with the extremely poor customer service at this store and I am not even sure why they are open for business. Bought "Next Day Air Early AM" service to ship medicine to my neighbor's child. I had to keep it refrigerated, so I carefully packaged it in a styrofoam container on ice. It absolutely had to get there ASAP and I was assured that it would. Even though I dropped the package off at 8:30a, the UPS Store failed to deliver the package to the sorting facility until it was too late. The medicine got there TWO days later. The ice had melted by then and the medicine was ruined. Neighbors had to call the company to send them the hard-to-find, expensive drug directly. I was also disappointed that UPS took no responsibility for the UPS Store's mess up. "The UPS Store is an individual franchise. They are not officially part of UPS. They screwed up. Five stars for photocopying. Machines are always clean, well-stocked with paper, and in good working order. Five stars for friendly, helpful employees. You always get acknowledged, they always thank you for waiting, and they get to you as fast as they can. Three stars for price. Why is this place so expensive to ship things? Experience at this UPS location was pretty smooth when I stopped by to drop off some returns. Even though there were a ton of people at around 4pm after work, the lady at the front was nice enough to quickly process my packages. What I didn't know about UPS or at least this one was that they cared when your tape is scotch or not. At previous UPS stores, I got away with scotch and didn't know that UPS disallowed it. I think I paid about 30c for each box to be retaped, and so be aware that you may do the same. Otherwise, service is efficient here, place is clean, and they even have a 3D printing station! Tl;dr be careful when coming here with packages sealed with scotch tape. They may charge you more! read more
