**One star, because zero isn't an option.** Came in to return a laptop to my former employer. The box was sealed but needed *one* strip of tape to secure it. Every other shipping store I've been to has *always* offered a courtesy piece of tape for something this minor. But not here. Instead, I was told I needed to *buy* a roll of tape, starting at **$8**, for a single piece. When I pushed back, the manager gave me a sad speech about "how hard it is to survive in this economy." Here's a tip: the way you *thrive* in any economy is by treating people like people and using common sense, not nickel-and-diming them over something that costs a fraction of a cent. These people are disgusting. I brought in an Amazon return that was two boxes and Amazon had given me one return label for both of them. They insisted that I have 2 Amazon labels and that I need to get another label. So then I asked if I could buy a box there for 2 boxes. So then, they opened one of the boxes that I was going to return to see the size of my item. I had two filing containers for teachers in two boxes. They were not huge. Then they measured one and said They wanted to charge me $75 for one box to put both items in. Then I said that's crazy and said I'll just give one box then. They tried to insist that I buy tape to put together the one box that they opened as what they say was a favor to me by seeing the size. They had packing tape right behind the counter but wanted me to buy a whole roll. This was absolutely disgusting. Finally, the employee decided to take my box and tape it back together and I left with the other box which now I need another label for They people were disgusting. This UPS location, is by far, the BEST in the area. In fact, I drive out of my way to drop off packages there. I am there a lot, because I am a personal assistant for a number of families. Hamid and his staff were excellent in helping me track down a package they had sent to a friend in LA. My friend told me UPS delivered her package to an access point inside a CVS. When she went to pick it up they said they didn't have it. I immediately contacted Hamid and he was able to speak to someone who tracked it down. My friend was able to then get her package. The contents of the box held special significance as it contained items I purchased for her to help her rebuild her life after she lost everything in the LA fires. I took an Amazon return to the Menlo Park (El Camino Real) store. I left it there, and I got my return receipt. Unfortunately I threw the return receipt away a couple of weeks later assuming I did not need it anymore. My return never made it back to Amazon, so I never received my refund. I called the UPS store manager to let him know, so this will not happen to someone else, and he argued with me on the phone. He denied it happened, telling me I was wrong and suggesting I call the manager at Amazon. I will not give future business to this store and I caution the public to be wary about taking your Amazon returns here, as your merchandise may never make it back to Amazon, and your money will never make it back to your pocket! read more

I called them to ask a simple question and because he didn't like what I asked, the owner hung up on me and refused to answer the phone after that. Considering it is a UPS store there is not much to say. I would consider this UPS store one of the better ones in the area as the customer support is better than average. The line moved very quickly and I was in and out within 10 minutes on multiple different occasions. Rarely have I gone in and there is a line for more than 10 minutes. The other option you have is the UPS store in Sharon Heights, and unfortunately, those staffs are not as nice as this one. Overall, this is definitely a better than average UPS store. read more

This store does not have its act together. I went to the UPS website to print something, selected this store as the location to print at, and received an email confirmation with an expected print time. I go to the store, show them the email on my phone, and they are mystified: "Did you email this to us? We don't know about orders from the website, the company didn't tell us about that." Then I asked for passport photos, but thought better of it when I saw them scramble to put batteries in the camera and prop up white shipping foam as a background. Having done passport photos myself at another job, I could tell the results might get rejected. The reason that it's two stars and not one is that the employees are at least nice about it. I had an important document notarized by Samir Mehta and he used the wrong date. The document was invalid and I had to return to the store. Yes, he apologized and refunded the cost of notarizing, but he completely wasted my time and I was not able to complete my errand as a result. First time sending a wine shipment here. My wine was shipped free from the winery. Now i learn this store charges to receive a package and then charges $5 per day each day til you pick it up. Never again will I ship here. I asked if they would waive the fee one time and the manager refused. The manager said he'd have to call the owner, but he refused to do that. We have shipped at this store a few times and it has always been nothing but disappointing. Rude customer service, if any at all. This morning was my last straw. I arrived at 8:31 (store supposedly opens at 8:30) and it was locked up tight, lights off, no one in sight. However, there were three other cars waiting for it to open. I called the store's number just to see if there was another number I could call and after a few rings it said "Answering machine off" and hung up. I left at 8:50 when still, no one had showed up. I was not impressed at all. I went here to mail three packages, and I decided just to go to the post office instead. The person who helped me at the UPS store didn't know much about their pricing or timing, and didn't seem to care much about my package. This is the best UPS store you will ever find. Hands down. The staff is really what makes this place great; sometimes picking up the mail is the funniest part of my day! The main guy kills me with his deadpan one-liners! Everyone that works there is very helpful and very quickly gets to know you. Which is useful when you forget your key or there is a long line and you just want to grab your package and get out. If you've got oversize packages they are always happy to help load things into your car. They'll package things up for you, notarize, copy, cut keys... it's a one stop shopping place for all your mailing needs! read more

I had to mail off a package for work I walked in and was told to wait outside there was 4 other people in the store already and no sign posted of 4 people in the store only, there was nothing like that, an elderly customer was done and came outside and told me he was sorry and if he didn't need to mail his package off he would have walked outside with me both he and felt it was racially motivated!! I didn't want to argue I was on the clock and in uniform so no good would have come about with a confrontation I would love to give Hamid the benefit of the doubt but a total stranger to me felt exactly like I did!! These guys have always been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Mail can be a frustrating and unpleasant endeavor, most mail service stores seem hostile and at best lethargic. These guys are not. I've never had a problem with these guys so I don't know how that would pan out, but at least they're pleasant on a daily basis. read more

Went to the UPS Store in Menlo Park to return a gift I received from Amazon which I could not use. I was confuse with the printing of the label as I want the credit go back to the gift giver. Location is popular enough that you'll always have to wait for 1 or 2 people in front of you. However the staff moves quickly so it isn't an issue. Everyone is polite and professional. Plenty of parking makes it easy to get in and out. I have a box they're and have shipped a few things, never an issue. pretty standard ups store, located just south of the downtown menlo park area, and about a 1/2 mile north of stanford shopping center. parking is pretty scarce, but it wasn't busy at the time i dropped by, so i was able to score a parking space right in front of the store, free 1 hour parking from 7am-6pm. i walked inside and saw no line, so i put my package on the counter, and the guy taped it up for me, attached the self-addressed-prepaid label on the side, gave me my receipt, and i was on my merry way. easy as pie! if only all shipping and postal transactions were this easy! read more
