I've been a customer for a few years now. I got a mailbox here because it was such a hassle to get deliveries at my condo complex. . Now I have a house and can have deliveries at my front door BUT I still choose to keep my UPS box because of the following reasons: 1) I send my expensive stuff there because I know it's safe 2) employee is super friendly and almost too patient 3)easy returns For those who are saying that they have to wait a long time please remember that there's only ONE employee there. She has to receive parcels, scan deliveries, package returns, enter information in the system... all by HERSELF. (and maybe they cannot afford or find someone else to work there) Then she has to help customers that have 1 million packages to send a 1 million packages to return and then have 10 million questions. So if she forgets to smile, then I completely understand why. Someone mentioned about the employee telling a customer how to make 'her job easier' by having the barcode/scan code ready....well Just remember if YOU come prepared then you are also saving OTHER customer's time. Many times I've stood there with people fumbling with their phones trying to generate a return code for their Amazon packages....items are all loose...etc and she waits there patiently. Meanwhile I want to tell the customer "hurry up". The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the location. Small parking, busy intersection. read more

If there was ever one person whose overwhelmingly likable demanor far transcended that of other mortals, that person would be Anna. While desperately seeking a way to transport my pet Betta fish back home, I was met with grim faces and rejection at almost every shipping location (FedEx, UPS, etc.) As destiny (and luck) would have it, I made my final phone call to this store and connected with the positively explosive and bubbly Anna. During our conversation, Anna walked me through all of UPS's Live Animal shipping policies (and restrictions) and even told me to email the store so she could contact her supervisors and provide the most accurate updates to me the following morning. Wow. Customer service much? The next day, I arrived and Anna is there, just as friendly and social as the phone call prior. We share some silly stories and conversations, then she expertly prepares my wonderful Betta fish for the long journey ahead. On the way out, I ask if the pizza place next store is good. Anna tells me Inn-N-Out is better and 2 minutes away. Ended my day with a Betta happily in transit and a Double Double Animal Style. 100/10. From the looks of it, Anna doesn't really need a positive review since I see my gratitude and appreciation for her help and positive demeanor is widely shared....but here's my review anyway! I made it a point to go back to this store after my first experience was top shelf and I was hoping it would be the same girl to help me again, and luckily it was! I know nothing about shipping but as a small customer service business oriented owner myself, having good quality service is a must, being helpful is a must, being knowledgeable is a must, making sure your customers leave happier than they arrived it a must and Anna covers all the above! Now more than ever so we need to treat each other with respect, patience, and compassion. Instead of being mad that you have to wait in line for 5-10 minutes due to health code mandates the business is required to uphold, instead why not "read the room" and observe what the 1 employee is doing to service an entire neighborhood! I arrived at 11:30am and saw a man in line and a woman at the counter getting service. Turns out that the woman at the counter is getting a notary service and she leaves at 11:46. Then the owner helps two other people who weren't in line but they were evidently already being serviced prior to my arrival. The man in front of me finally gets to the counter and starts another notary service. I had already stood there for over 20mins by this point. So I left at 11:53 seeing that it would take another 10 minutes. Every type of service works with an appropriate level of service not I am not sure whether it should be graded on mailing service or a notary service. Mailing service should not take more than 5-10 mins of waiting. If you need a notary service, this is the place. If you need to send a package, make sure you pick a time they aren't playing notary. read more

It's an Asian lady that completely disregards the presence of any person walking in (for sometimes full minutes) until she is done with whatever task she is doing. No "hello". No "I'll be with you shortly." Nothing. I've come multiple times and I never leave reviews anywhere, but this is obviously a pattern and at this point I will just look for another UPS store to go to... which I'm sure was the goal of this employee to begin with. Came in to have 2 documents notarized. My 1st time at this store. It was pretty busy and another customer sending g a registered letter required her ti fill out some forms or such. Rather than waiting Ms Jiang started on my notarized documents, jumping back and forth between me and the other customer. We both got done at a out the same time. As soon as the other customer told her what she needed Ms Jiang asked me what I needed, allowing her to get to us both immediately. She is doing the work of 2 people at the same time. Double her pay. It's only fair. She's a hard worker and keeps it moving. read more

I come here all of the time to ship packages, drop off Amazon returns, and pick up packages that require a signature. Staff are quick, helpful, and courteous. Apparently some reviewers here mistake their focused, efficient work style as curtness or rudeness, however their efficient business-like manner is why I come here. I always tape my packages before coming in, so they've never charged me for tape, but this has happened to me at a different UPS store so I don't think it's irregular. The Post Office makes you buy a $4 roll, so oh well. Unfortunately a lot of these negative reviews sound very racist (I just reported one obviously racist one), which is really horrible to see, and surprising for Long Beach. I hope staff here know that they are doing a great job and that they have my respect. read more

Pay attention to the low reviews. The owner is rude, condescending, impatient and will tell you outright that she doesn't make any money on Amazon returns. I live walking distance to this place and would rather drive to another UPS store. My UPS driver told me he hears nothing but bad stuff from people and other UPS drivers who pick up there. The 5 star reviews seem fabricated by how over the top and inconsistent they are. If you would like to be treated like an adult and with a modicum of respect and friendliness then avoid this place. With so many options available to conduct business there's no need to bother with this unprofessional location. If you're the owner reading this, don't bother responding as you are obviously aware by previous reviews yet choose to continue operating this way. I've come here a handful of times and the lady working is always so rude before you say anything. If you have any questions or anything wrong with your package (Amazon) she will rudely let you know and not offer clarification or assistance. I've been to this location multiple times to drop of documents for next day delivery and the woman who works this location doesn't not interact with me at all. She doesn't even say hello. But I've been in this store when other customers have been in here and she's always polite to them. I really think she has issues with Black men. It makes it very uncomfortable going to this location. I'm all about customer service and hers is just not there at all. Waited patiently in line just to do a return. I had my scan code on my phone with two small envelope size packages to return to Amazon. I noticed two men arrived after I did and they stool behind me. The lady in the store asked the men to bring in their boxes. They had like large boxes. Once the people in front of me were done, the lady decided to help the 2 men. I spoke up and told the lady that I was here first. She said, oh they have an appointment." I told her all I have is these 2 small returns. She didn't care. That was rude and inconsiderate of her. I waited a few more minutes, but noticed that the 2 men couldn't decide on how they wanted to shop their packages. My transaction would of taken 1 freakin minute. Had to scan and email important documents over and for 9 pages was charged $9.00. This place is beyond expensive because when I go to my other UPS, it's reasonable and nothing close to this price. This place was extremely easy to work with. I had to return a speaker with a prepaid label from the company and they helped with every aspect. From printing the labels, to packing it up (only $8), to giving me a tracking number and on my way. The space is nice. Was a little warm, but it could've just been a hot day! Holy cow, that girl at the front desk was knowledgeable. I walked in yesterday at 4:30 pm with my AT&T modem to return. There was one person in line ahead of me and one already being helped at the desk. She finished helping the person at the desk, told the second woman in line her package was labeled for USPS and would have to be dropped off with them, and said "AT&T U-Verse? Can I have your last name?" all before the original customer had finished packing up and leaving the counter. I was out of there in less than a minute I swear. I don't know if she had a helper under the desk, but somehow she never lost eye contact as she pulled my receipt and handed it to me. The thing was two pages of different paper types stapled together and this girl NEVER touched a stapler. It wasn't the perfect printer stapled staples either. This thing was slightly off, just enough to be human...or to make us believe it was human. Oh LAWD it was glorious. I came here to return some books and it was a bad experience. I showed up with my box, my book and my shipping receipt and NANCY told me that she was going to charge me dollar amounts to use her tape. I then Express to her how I didn't think I should pay for tape and she told me I should go back home tape the box and bring it back if I didn't want to spend money on her tape. I went next door to see if they would be kind enough to spare some tape and they were very nice and also said I should not be paying for tape at a shipping store. read more

Today I mailed a rug and the container was little ripped and they fixed it for a small charge, previously (1 hr ago) I got confused and went to fedex, the would only ship the rug if I was willing to buy a 25 dlls box!!! I highly recommend that you DO NOT USE this UPS Store. There is another one on Spring Street that is very customer friendly. They let you use their tape without charging for it - imagine that! You can read the other reviews on Yelp about the bad customer service from the two ladies that work here. I will tell you mine: I came in to return two Amazon boxes (I taped them up at home so I wouldn't be forced to buy a roll of tape). There was a customer in front of me at the desk. I was holding large boxes and asked the customer if I could place the boxes on the desk. The lady that works there (I hope for UPS sake she is not the owner) became agitated that I asked to set my boxes down, she said to me "you can put your boxes to the side, the desk if for writing!" I didn't understand her agitation, but I put the boxes on the side like she indicated. I then asked if I needed to wait for her to finish with the customer and she "only if you want a receipt" to which I replied "do I need one?" - She said "its up to you". I made the mistake of leaving without getting a receipt, as the vibe with her was definitely negative. Well, guess what, one of the two packages never arrived. I can't prove that she intentionally didn't send it, but the attitude makes me think she is really that spiteful. Again, the UPS Store on Spring is great for customer service. They even told me that they get customers in all the time that complain about this store on Lakewood. They joke about giving out "free" tape. read more

When I finally got to the head of the line I sympathetically said "you could use some help this morning" she thought that was silly that she had only been open a short time and she had other employees coming in 30 minutes. I won't return here. I visited last Saturday and the proprietor who works there often was rude. I came in 20 minutes before closing and she continued speaking to a couple about a business mailbox for 5 to 6 minutes while I stood there, no verbal or non verbal acknowledgement whatsoever. The couple wasn't even asking questions, the proprietor was simply "regaling" them with her knowledge of how to start a business. That's fine but also acknowledging customers is too. Finally after a long period of time, she continues talking, motions for me to come forth with her hand, rings in my parcel and hands me my receipt without saying a word to me. No "sorry for the wait", no "thank you for waiting". It was very disappointing to experience and while I can't exactly call it racist, I thought about how that interaction may have been different if I looked more like I was from the surrounding area. She needs to do better, I've had enough in 2020 as is. read more

This UPS store is living in 2003. I tried to print a document that I put on my USB but they won't allow you to print, even though it was 1 document, a pre paid UPS sticker to ship something. The UPS store on 7th isn't even in the Stone Age, they let you print straight from their printer using a USB and not having to email it to a generic ups email store # smh! Took our headlights to this store to ship to NC. Paid to have the lights packaged and shipped by the UPS Store on Lakewood Blvd. After two weeks UPS failed to deliver the light to NC due to weather. Never called us just shipped them back to the store BROKEN... Zero refund. We insured the lights and paid over $235.00 for shipping and insurance, 50.00 for them to pack the light and they still could not manage to get the job done. Now I have to go thru a huge process to claim the insurance including being without my headlights for over two weeks for their internal company issues. Terrible customer service. I will never use this store or UPS again and their insurance is a joke. Thank goodness for small claims court if this in not resolved. read more
