I have used this store for over 4 years now... to receive mail (PO Box) and for other services. Generally speaking I am impressed with the customer service, not sure what the other reviewers are speaking about re: receipts. They have always given me one. Maybe its the pandemic going on but this place is run by a bunch of kids that aren't well trained. Was here 4/27 at 1:30 PM because I got a noticed of a UPS package that required a signature. I assume it was at the Lafayette store as it was 3 blocks from me. The clerk was clearly reluctant to serve me from a distance and couldn't find the package. Upon reading the notice the fine print said 580 Moraga road drop-off. The clerk said it was probably at the Fed Ex store just around the corner. I was saying to myself why would Fed Ex handle a UPS package. I went there anyway and the clerk pretty much thought the UPS kid was a moron for sending me here. As it turned out it was the CVS store that is now handling UPS packages for a few month now. Maybe this store needs more competition to stay sharp. Please train your employees better! read more

My experiences here have generally been okay. I would echo some of the same sentiments below. they do not offer receipts which I can get easily at other UPS stores, so I am really not sure why they won't offer it, other than it might inconvenient to them. The owner , the elderly lady, can be a bit rough and unpleasant, but she seemed to warm up after I talked with her and explained the documents that I needed to be notarized. From then on, she was helpful and seemed to know what she was doing. She also told me to come back if I had any problems. If I had any local needs from UPS, I would consider going back there. read more

Wonderful customer service. We've been slowly adopting their offerings over the years simply because of it. We've gone here for everything from international shipping with tracking to boxes and stamps. The friendly staff is always giving ideas on how to ship something most effectively. Consider them for supplies, packing and shipping, P.O. Box, business production needs, mailing, shipping -- even tackle basic copying, shredding needs or grab a greeting card. They utilize both UPS and DHL for international services. It beats waiting in line at the post office and Fedex Office. read more

Usual hours are 8 am-6 pm per the website. They posted special reduced hours of 11 am to 4:30 pm beginning October 5. Today, Sept 28, 2020, we brought a large box to ship and we arrived around 4:55 pm. Then we saw a sign hanging on the door saying it was closed at 4:30 pm. We even saw a UPS delivery person with a big package, and he was locked out. Last we saw when we left was he was calling someone on his mobile phone. Frustrating. read more

I had a problem with a missing package that I dropped off a week ago. I called and spoke to the manager, Josh, who said they scan all packages and didn't know what happened to mine. When I told him that mine wasn't scanned and that it had been almost a week, all he obnoxiously replied, "I've said all that I can say about this, my man." Terrible customer service. read more

Historically have gone to this UPS site to conduct business with business getting taken completed. Not these days - UPS Lafayette store is cluttered the moment you walk in the door - get a larger space ! ! ! Long wait for notary, no where to wait & really now where to conduct notary business. I have had a mailbox here for almost 3 years. I have never had any problem with them. I send packages, receive packages, notary, etc. They are all very helpful. When my knee was hurt and I couldn't walk up the back stairs for a few days, they even brought my mail to my car. read more

Bad customer service. I was in the shipping line first and the guy helped another person (that left the notary line) and didn't even bother to acknowledge me even after I said I was there first and continued to help the person that cut the line. People who work here are super nice. Sometimes they loose stuff, but that's not the employee's fault. UPS seems pretty disorganized, but its easy to come here and drop off stuff for mailing. Parking is kind of a mess so you might have to look around for a while. read more

I arrived sharply at 8 a.m. There was a couple in front of me who were getting notary service. The one employee didn't even acknowledge that I was there. No "I'll be with you shortly." Not sure why there are bad reviews. I've had a mail box at this location for about 3 years and have used them extensively for very complex shipping services and they are fantastic. Very personable, know what they are doing and they really make me feel like part of a community. Maybe others want impersonal experience? Leaving a review since these guys went above and beyond. I had a rather large/awkward/fragile piece of furniture I had consigned and needed to ship. I came in hot- no box or tape. The employees (all 3 of them) literally stopped what they were doing and helped me box it, without charging me an arm and a leg. They were incredible and didn't make me feel like I had imposed, although I'm sure I had as they had customers coming in and out they were toggling between. Thanks guys for amazing customer service! This is about UPS main service they are thieves, dishonest and fully lack customer service. I ordered a package a On the 21st and paid for 3 day shipping. My package is stuck Can in San Pablo they now tell me that during the holiday 3 day is really 4 day so they will deliver on the 29th. I am not sure how they do their math but 21-29 is not 4 but actually 8 days and they refuse to credit my shipping fee. Save yourself time, money, frustration and headache ad use either DHL, Fed ex, or the United States postal service they all know how to count and how to credit your account. I will never use UPS again they are horrid every package that has been delivered from them has been damaged, crushed and just thrown on the porch or in the driveway. It is no mistake that the thieves are following them around and stealing UPS shows no concern and as they became such a big name they forgot they used to have customer service. Now it is an out of country call center that could care less. Gives Grinch a good name. read more

I will not go to this store again -- I have a UPS account and needed a small piece of packing tape to close my box and was told by the manager that it would cost a $1 for "packing services." She was belligerent and down right mean when I told her that the Orinda UPS store is friendly and accommodating and has gladly help with this request in the past. Go to Orinda! This is such a friendly and convent place to mail packages, make copies and get documents notorized. Staff is always patient and friendly. Even when my kids are in the store with me, nobody behind the counter rushes me and they take their time answering my concerns or questions about a shipping order. So much easier to visit here rather then the local post office, no parking nightmare either! read more

Diane went above and beyond to photocopy a spiral bound book in a (must have been painstakingly tedious) way that preserved the spiral bind and insisted on doing it the right as opposed to easy way! Buyer Beware! The UPS insurance has a great deal of undisclosed terms and conditions which means it's your fault when your package is damaged. My package was pierced with enough force to penetrate 4" into the package and bend the metal machine within. $1600 worth of insurance was not honored because of the packing job wasn't theirs. read more

Bought some vitamins to mail to Hong Kong for my parents so I thought I'd go back to the UPS store by my house. When I arrived, there was one person at the counter and three people in the back chatting (Taking break at the same time maybe? Not sure and don't really care). The gentleman asked what am I sending and where am I sending it to so I told him. He then went in the back to ask his colleagues something and when he came back he said "it is actually surprisingly difficult to ship it internationally". So I said, "OK... I'll go to the post office then?". As I was walking out I can hear him say "well wait... Uh Nevermind". Wow, I guess you tried? Hmmm... I was actually just here 2 months ago and shipped something to Germany. Is this not UPS? Does UPS only ship domestically and make it harder to ship internationally? Am missing something here or people working in the service sector no longer gives a shi* about customer service? At least explain why it's difficult to ship. Geez! read more

The staff at the store always seem to be working efficiently and have been polite and helpful every time I have entered.

These guys are so competent, helpful and cordial. We had a complicated process of sending a huge package to Slovenia, and they kept on it for the month it took to finally get the fees and taxes taken care of, paying them for us directly to the Slovenian postal service and then charging us back. I asked the young lady to print out some pictures and she told me it would take her a long time so I should bring a flash drive next time and do it myself. Latina lady was bitchy but the small asian lady was helpful.

I agree with the others, this place is horrible. First, they do not even show up during the posted business hours. Then, I need something delivered on time. I drop it off early Thursday. They do not get it to UPS delivery until after 7 pm on Friday - so it does not get sent out till next Monday. The worst service! read more
