My wife texted me a huge shopping list and there was no way for me to try to manage that from my phone. I put it into an easier format, emailed it to myself and then hunted for a place to print it. The UPS Store has a masks requirement and the associates working were wearing theirs as were the customers. I let them know what I needed to do and then emailed my document to the store. The gent confirmed my document and then printed the one page. Easy pleasy. $3 to open a digital document and $0.10 to print it. That's a good bit and maybe next time, I'll just buy a note pad and transcribe my shopping list to that. Still, the gent was professional and efficient. I got what I needed and they did a good job. I come here often for Amazon returns and it's always quick and efficient. This time I came to mail some artwork after I was told over the phone that their manager offers special boxes to mail artwork. When I showed up I let them know my phone conversation had let me know of their managers packages. I had also told them several times I needed something 12x16, which they said they didn't offer. I was told their envelopes were smaller than that. At the counter they said the box alone was $18 (rounding up cents). I declined and as I turned to walk out I found several large envelopes on display. I purchased a large, bubble wrapped one for $4. I don't appreciate being "upsold." If I want the higher options, I will choose them. In this case, all I needed was an envelope. The manager also never shared his artwork options. read more

I recently went to the UPS Store to get some documents notarized and from the beginning I knew that it was going to be a terrible experience. When I arrived, I was told that only the manager which is the older gentleman was able to do the notarization. He was working with another person and the only times that he acknowledged me was the first time and when he finished helping the person. It took nearly an hour for him to finish working with his customer (friend), when he was done, he didn't apologize for the long wait. He simply said how may I help you. What bothered me the most was that he didn't set any expectations of how long he was going to be. Without question the absolute worst UPS store ever. I ship 15+ boxes weekly through the Belmont location with a QR code. When attempting to ship a box with a QR code at this location, for convenience, the employee told me it could not be done. When Probed, she was extremely rude and disingenuous. Beware beware beware. Absolutely horrible service. The owner Herbie refused to ship a box that Amazon sent to me completely without packing material and forced me to not only buy a box but packing material stating that he is tired of getting yelled at for 38 years because something is broken. He accuse me of yelling at him, even though I asked him if he refused to ship the Package back to Amazon. I stated that I was not yelling at him. I just wanted to know the reason why he refused to ship it back to Amazon the way that it arrived to me. I've come to the conclusion that it was to charge me extra money so that way his business benefits from a couple extra dollars. He was extremely rude and embarrassed me in front of a room full of people by asking him a question. If he has been doing this for 38 years, it sounds like he needs to hang his hat and let somebody more professional take over the business. With this person has occurred while I have been in the store. I feel sorry to everyone that has to be publicly, embarrassed for asking a question if they are confused and getting straightened out by the owner of a company. Absolutely disrespectful. BEWARE of the *required "Brown, crush-proof box" *with the 'crushproof logo that this UPS store on Franklin Blvd. REQUIRES before they will ship your box! Also, it costs $10 and with their 'service' fees to literally place your box into their box goes up to $16! SUPER TICKED OFF at this upsell scam, especially after waiting in a line that was literally to their back door! Also, they were charging people doing Amazon returns to put their items (which were also already boxed) into their 'approved' box as well! I've learned that these UPS stores are independently owned and have had much better service and none of this 'brown, crush-proof box' scam when I shipped from the Belmont location. However, for the FRANKLIN Blvd UPS Store - Save yourself some Time, Money and FRUSTATION and SKIP THIS LOCATION ALTOGETHER! I can't believe how rudely I was treated at this store! I'd give 0 stars if I could! I brought a package to this location to be shipped but didn't realize that I had mistaken carriers, and my package label was for Fed Ex not UPS. When I realized my mistake about a week later, I went back to check on the package and retrieve it. The older man, Frank, who supposedly is a manager, was hostile with me and blamed me for using the wrong carrier even though I had already admitted my mistake. He told me he gave it to the FedEx driver. He also made me feel like I was the only one ever who would make a carrier mistake like this. I went to FedEx, and they hadn't received the package from UPS. So a week later, I went back to UPS and tried to speak to Brandy. She was the one who originally received my package. She was nothing but a broken record player saying they didn't have the package. Frank walked by us talking and literally put his hand out in front of me and ignored me. I have never been treated so rudely in my life! And apparently, it's only me that Frank seems to dislike because he was nice and accommodating to everyone else except me! I will never recommend the store to anyone, and I will gladly drive 5 miles out of my way to go to Fed Ex for all my shipping needs from now on. read more

Customer Service is Dead: I've used this location many times and they are always kind and courteous, there was no exception to this. I called early this morning to make sure they could meet my printing request. I received the confirmation email from the store. Upon arrival I found they had lost my email. I waited for nearly and hour for my job to finish and received no discount or compensation for the mix up, even after I asked why I was being charged full price. read more

I took packages to drop off for a amazon return and had several items with the printed labels. The 2 women at the register looked at the product and said it was flammable hazardous material (no where on the label did it say these things) and UPS didn't ship flammable hazardous material and showed it to the elderly manager and he didn't read the label just said danger danger danger and said no shipping. I responded by saying why would Amazon issue UPS return shipping labels for this product if it was dangerous. Took the product to another UPS store and it was shipped with no problem. Bottom line is the staff that i dealt with at this store are incompetent idiots. read more

I have used this location three times add swore I would never use this location again. They aren't very professional, I started using office Depot to ship my packages but I thought I would give the best UPS location since it was near my home to use once again. I remembered after walking in while I swear I never go back. Everyone there seems professional and kind and actually care about your packages except for one person. This place is a huge scam. I can literally have the correct dimensions, packaging weight, address and use the online UPS Calculator...only to come to the store where it would be $15+ more expensive. When I ask thats not what was said online, the woman clerk says "Oh well that just the price...the price you see online is for a direct UPS store." If that isn't a bunch of BS. You are the DIRECT Shipper. They will also increase your dimensions by measuring really fast which also jacks up the price. Please be sure to check service options on the receipt. They add all the extras in there so you cannot distinguish them. This place is a huge ripoff. I dont know if its UPS in general or specifically this location. PLEASE PLEASE check your receipts and measure your own packages. There was a time where they fly through it and I had them redo and show me...she was off on both the height and width. Never apologized just said "Oh yeah". The practices here are really shaky and I will NOT be back. My sister had a similar experience at another UPS. They charged her $50, called in to complain where they verified it should have been only $18. No wonder this company was sued for overcharging customers. Do better! read more

This is usually our "go to" UPS store, but today I must say I am extremely disappointed in their customer service. I emailed a blueprint for printing (before closing) went to pick it up 40 minutes later. When entering, the line was long. I waited my turn. When I got to the counter it was 3:59pm. The guy told me the prints were not printed yet. So, I asked if I should wait and he told me that I would have to come back on Monday because they were trying to serve the rest of the people in the store (all of the people behind me). My husband went in to this store to ship some glass plates and cups (10 plates and 11 tea cups). The worker asked him what was in the box and when he told the worker it was glass plates they said we will have to see what's in the box. They proceeded to cut the box open and stated that they would need to repackage everything and it would need to ship in 2 separate boxes as what I had was too heavy and the box I used was no good and that my items were too heavy for the box. Now, I used a box that a case of paper comes in, cut another box up to add to the inside of all sides of the box for extra protection, lined the entire box in bubble wrap, generously wrapped each item in bubble wrap and wrapped with saran wrap in bundles of 5 plates. I added cardboard to the top of the box and bubble wrap too. Nothing was moving around and all was secured and safe. We taped the box up with packing tape around the lid several times, around the entire box from side to side and the other way. All was well. I weighed the entire box on my personal postal scale and it weighed 26 pounds and 4 ounces. (A box of paper weighs 50 pounds.) I estimated my shipping charges and I was looking at about $35 for ground service. After they torn the box up and looked inside they informed me that they would need to repackage everything in the box and it would need to ship in 2 different shipments and that my new shipping charges would be $135. My husband said no thank you and he left to go back home to try to repackage the items and to find another shipping method. I called the store to try to find out what I needed to do or what I could do to make sure the boxes are the way they want them so we don't go through this again. When I called I spoke to the young man who answered the phone and asked if I could speak to a manager, he informed me that she was on break but that I could talk to the owner. All started out well until I started really questioning how I could fix this at home as I have lots more dishes that I plan on shipping. When he saw that I was going to try to fix it instead of him being able to strong arm me into paying for their package and ship service his tune change. He became rude and condescending at every question I would ask. As a former business owner and a professional employee I know how customer service should work and clearly this man does not. I will not do any business with him or his store again and will probably not use UPS at all over this. He is a poor representation of the entire UPS company. If I didn't know better I would say the owner is trying to scam people out of money by trying to force them into upgraded services. read more

To preface, I'll tell you that I print a lot of things on the go. I've been to a multitude of venues to do this over the last decade: public libraries, FedEx, Staples, Office Depot, UPS stores, local mom & pops, kinkos before fedex bought them, kwik kopy, ad. nauseam.... quite literally coast to coast as I'm originally from California. Maybe I'm missing something, but ever since stores made it functional to email them documents and print I've only had two tell me there was a charge for emailing it to them. I'm sorry, you mean to tell me you want to charge me $5 for the 30 seconds it takes your $8/hr employee to pull up my document and print it... and then charge me even more for the actual prints. I love my local UPS store, they know be by name and I give them a lot of business, so maybe they have this and just don't tell me. I find it crazy though to add frivolous mark-ups for no value. Charge me more than it costs for paper and ink on my home printer? Fine- I get it, you have printer maintenance, employees to pay, etc. $5 to retrieve an email though, I personally think that's a reach. read more

So to give an idea I'm actually reviewing the delivery, today I had a package that was supposed to be delivered just at some point was the only information I was given, which I thought was fair because there's no real telling how long it will take to get to my house. So I took the day off and waited for the package to be delivered by waiting at the front door for someone to show up and knock and for me to sign. However this didn't happen because apparently the cars in the driveway did not indicate that people are home, and the staircase leading to the front door was apparently not obvious enough even though it's facing the street. Apparently it's much more convenient for the UPS driver to go to my side door where my laundry room is and laundry is currently being done. And it's much easier for their hands if they gently knock on the door so that no one can hear them. I missed my package because it's too inconvenient for them to go 15 steps to the side where my front door is and knock, I WAITED ALL DAY JUST TO GET A LETTER SAYING SORRY WE MISSED YOU! read more

They are the worst ever. I ordered my kids Christmas stuff and ups tracking said that it was delivered on 12/7/2020 with the proof of delivery saying that is was left at my door. Well is was not left at my door-1240 apt K. I called ups to start an investigation but before I did that, I did go check with neighbors just in case. No package. 5 days later another one of my packages says delivered and left at door. Now I am pissed because the driver is an idiot at this point. I walk across the street to knock on doors. I get to 1260 apt K and bam I found my package at their door. They were not home for me to ask about my other package but now I know where the driver is leaving my packages. This is the worst experience ever especially around the holidays. These drivers need to take their job more serious because this is not ok. I will be filing a formal complaint with the UPS center on Monday. read more

This UPS store is definitely not a good one. I went to both locations in Gastonia, and the one in Belmont, looking for assistance on shipping a package. Unfortunately, the rude attitudes and disingenuous employees left me feeling embarrassed and cold. They act as if they can't sympathize or understand your problems at all. I overheard a member of staff gossiping about a customer that had previously left the store. She was giving a basic overview of her situation, and he made a snarky comment to another employee about how he did not care about the customer's problems. If that isn't bad customer service, I don't know what is. I can't take any of these UPS stores seriously, especially considering they are all managed by the same person. A shame. read more
