For years now we've dealt with this store - and what seems to be the owner - only when absolutely…read morenecessary. We'd bring in packages carefully weighed on two different home scales and he'd always insist they weighed more, then charge us extra. Even if the package was an Amazon return, in the same packaging as received, with an Amazon generated label, he'd insist it weighed more and try to charge us extra! The store opens at 8 am, which means he arrives at 8 and starts turning on lights and machines. Effectively, he begins business at 10 past, no help if you've got to get to work on time and that 10 minutes makes a difference. Never mind that he seems to consider it a real chore to serve customers, or that there's no effort made when there's a long line to say "If you're just dropping off you can leave it on the counter". The whole place is annoyingly unprofessional when he's behind the counter. Strongly suggest drop-offs at your local pharmacy instead. Or, if you need an actual UPS store, choosing a different one.

She asked if I had my phone, took it and cancelled my return to Whole, and re-did it to her store. SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT-it's just how she's wired-she enjoyed doing it!!! I cancelled my mailbox here today after a very negative interaction with the man working the…read morecounter. I ship from this location and receive packages almost every day, and unfortunately, he has never been particularly friendly. Today, I brought in about 10 packages over four or five trips and placed them off to the side before getting in line. I briefly stepped over to hand my phone to my wife at the Amazon return area, then waited beside my large pile of packages. While I was waiting, another customer who wanted help packing a jersey cut in front of me. The employee looked right at me and helped that customer instead. When I spoke up and explained that the customer had cut in front of me and that I had been waiting for a while, the employee laughed and told me I "should have been in line." I understand that the store can get busy, but I waited my turn like everyone else and did not deserve to be laughed at or talked down to. Since no one seemed to care about the situation, I decided to cancel my box.

I went to the University Park UPS Store to have a package sent to Chicago. Once inspected by an employee it was determined that my product needed to be re-packed. When we accompanied an employee into the back room, it was determined that my original hard-sided luggage would have to be reused as they did not have a proper sized box to use. We assisted in removing my old packaging material and helped wrap my computer in bubble wrap. When asked, the employee said that 'this should be good enough'. My Business Partner was actually on a video conference with us at the time, witnessing\hearing the comments and visual activity. While my product was being repackaged, we witnessed a second employee dispose of the original packaging. When the package arrived at it's finally destination damaged, I immediately filed a claim and was denied once the claim was investigated by their insurance company. They said that UPS packing standards had not been met despite my insisting employee involvement which the store did not charge me for. Correct me if I am wrong, but If they don't charge me for work they complete, that's on them, not me! I was told to take a claim up with the store! On 7/3/26 I did just that. Once I explained the situation, the University Park store owner Joe Clarke berated me and swore at me on the phone (an employee did the same on a subsequent call). He called me and my (2) witness' liars and swore at me (including the 'F' Word) as I had stated to the insurance company that the store had assisted in re-packaging and shipping. Joe Clarke said that he reviewed camera footage from 4 security cameras which showed no such assistance. When asked to share the footage to prove that they did not help, Joe Clarke hung up on me. Had he shared footage and proven me wrong, I would have accepted that. My loss stands at $2000+ hours of my time. I had even bought supplemental insurance not trusting UPS. After reading many of his store's reviews, I see that this is a repetitive pattern which includes rude employees and poor service. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS LOCATION! THERE IS A GOOD LOCATION LIKE BRADENTON ON 70 & LAKEWOOD RANCH BLVD.
