Jen and Craig- the owners- gave me a quote for shipping a group of three paintings, but once they had the paintings to ship, they told me it was going to cost $200 more. What's it called when someone has your stuff and asks for more money? They were given the exact dimensions and failed on their estimate. I would not trust them. read more

Very unfriendly and unprofessional when I wanted to send a fedex package. Nasty as soon as I walked in the door. Didn't confirm my existing address in their system and when I asked, it was wrong so she got aggravated because she had to update my record and start over. She didn't ask if it needed to be insured so before paying I asked about insurance. I wanted extra to cover the contents and she was very irritated because she had to start over again. I left with my package because I didn't feel comfortable leaving it. read more

DO NOT USE THEM!! I do not like to criticize a business, but I feel compelled to warn any potential customer to the ultimate failure of this company to pack our valuable artwork carefully and thoughtfully. Especially since they state that their expertise is packing and shipping artwork. Their approach to packing a valuable piece of a 30+-pound sculpture was negligent, using materials that were extremely insufficient, e.g., using the thinnest possible bubble wrap that was barely thicker than paper towel, and loosely packed with popcorn (which we have since found out that very few packing professionals use any more because other packing materials are more effective.) They also knew that it was a treasured piece, not only due to its beauty but also because it belonged to a decease parent. We experienced a SENSELESS LOSS due to NEGLIGENCE and POOR JUDGEMENT. Be aware of how much they upcharge for their service. I should have checked ahead of time and didn't. This business charged me over a third MORE than what FedEx charges to send a box by FedEx ground. This Pak Mail outlet weighed and measured my addressed box, and added the FedEx shipping label. FedEx ground rate was $41.33. PakMail charged $65.40. That's a surcharge of $24.07--over a third more than the FedEx rate! It was an expensive lesson. Never using Pak Mail again. read more

Dirty, cluttered and smells like animals in there. Oh yea they aren't very pleasant and I feel I've been ripped off on shipping - but it wasn't worth arguing - just look over how they enter the package info. For example Box #2 11lbs entered at 25lbs and weight manually adjusted back to 11lbs Box #2 4lbs entered as 14lbs and and manually adjusted to 4lbs Oh yea - and they get upset when you want to take a pic of the shipping label on the box - Very shady - charged me more than $67 over the fedex rate (you can check online) - and made up a dimensional weight overcharge (also verified) read more

I go there to send packages, pick up my mail & purchase shipping supplies, not to make besties, so reading everybody's complaints about this business is laughable. The staff is professional & courteous. When I forgot to pay for the next 6 months of my mailbox, they were kind enough to hold the mail for me until I could remedy the situation. Last week I arrived 30 minutes after they closed with a package that needed to be sent out ASAP. The owner happened to be walking by (leaving another store) and reopened the store to take my package for me. Fabulous customer service if you're looking for professionalism. read more

A friend complained about them on Facebook and it reminded me that I needed to share my experiences. I live 2 miles away from them and it would be convenient if it was not for the following: PakMail center in the Publix Shopping center, 5824 BeeRidge Rd. Rude is the only title for these clowns. I went in to drop a FedEx parcel, put it on the counter and was rudely told to "Put it on the floor" I did and was once more ordered to move it. I figured the idiot had a bad day. Tried my luck once more, went in to try to get some information about a special shipment I needed to make and was told that they did not have time to answer my questions, in the same rude tone which I was given during my first visit. I was then ignored and passed over for another client who was also admonished for placing a parcel in the wrong place... These people have the manners of warthogs in heat, they are rude and unpleasant under any circumstances and I hear the same comments from many people who live in the area. WHY ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS? When is the Franchiser (PakMail) going to get on their case or better yet, yank their franchise? My advice: Stay the heck away from these ill mannered and nasty idiots! Go to the UPS store, Postnet or other shipping center there are plenty around that will be glad to help you. read more

I went to this store on Dec 22 to send a small item (12"x12"x4") by prepaid Fedex. I asked the man to provide a box and box up the package. He was extremely unfriendly immediately saying that it would cost me for the box and labor. I told him that I was just glad that he could do this since I needed to send the item out today. Then he told me it would cost $9.51 and I said that was fine. He continued to be very unfriendly when I asked for a tracking number, telling me sarcastically that it was on the prepaid label and I could copy it down. After a few more unpleasant comments, I asked him if he was the owner and he replied "yes, I am." I then asked if I had done something to offend him when I came in because he had been unfriendly since the beginning. He told me that he was in business to provide service not to be friends! Since I was the only person in the store, I asked if he couldn't do both since there was no rush. He just grunted and then said the package would go out that afternoon. I give this 1 star even though he did send the package out properly; IMHO, customer service distinguishes shipping company and he was downright hostile. He was competent but so surly that I would use this Pak Mail only if there were NO other convenient options. read more

Went to this store to send a fax. The woman who works there was extremely unfriendly to begin with. She sent my 2 page fax - fine. She charged me $3.44. Fine. But, when I went to pay with my debit card, she informed me that they prefer cash. I told her I didn't have cash on me at that moment and I had to use my debit card. She then informed me that she had to charge me a .50 cent fee for me to use my debit card - after she had sent the fax!!! I wasn't informed in advance of this extra fee and there was no sign. It isn't the money as much as the way they are doing business. Since we have so many choices of shipping places, I definitely will pass up Pak Mail in the future. No thanks! read more

The worst service ever. I went in to use their UPS service The tall elderly man who waited on me was unpleasant, surly, impatient, brusk and completely uninterested in helping me. He answered my questions with a quick curt response and never smiled or offered any pleasantries. He kept doing something else the whole time he was waiting on me. I felt like I was disturbing him and that I was a burden. I will never go back to this store and I will steer my friends, family and colleagues away also. This is a cpmpletely different experience from what I normallyreceive at the main UPS location here in Sarasota. Those folks are pleasant, courteous, and extremely Knowledgeable and helpful. read more

I would give negative stars if I could! First of all my friends birthday package was shipped priority on 7/6 with an estimated arrival of "2 to 3 days" and when I heard that it hadn't arrived over a week later and called them I was told that it was last scanned in Tampa?! I could've walked it there faster but that's not the worst of it because there wasn't even an apology or any sort of sympathy as to the situation and was simply told to call back if it goes longer than 10 days. Flash forward to literally 14 days later and the package has arrived, mind you it appears to be leaking something while there is nothing inside that could be the culprit and an item inside is busted...oh and it took 2 weeks to get there for a total shipping price of $33.00!! Call them back up to see what they may do.....and....nothing, some lame excuse as to "looking into but that nothing would probably come of it" thanks....for nothing. I will be telling everyone I know and more to never use this place read more
