Needed one small piece of tape to drop off an Amazon package. One piece. The charge? $2. For a franchise trying to attract customers, this seems like a missed opportunity. A few cents of tape could have earned goodwill and future business. Instead, I was turned away and will gladly take my business elsewhere. Thank goodness that there are UPS stores in every city and town. I forgot to mail a package before this road trip and only remembered as we were driving along in Sarasota when I saw this store! I did a u-turn, and a parking spot opened up right in front. The employee was nice and helpful with my return package. The store itself is clean, organized, and tidy. Errand completed. read more

The UPS on Fruitville is my go to mailing location and I always receive excellent service. Today Roman and Holly helped me with an Amazon return and were efficient and friendly. I have had them pack and ship art to a daughter in NY and holiday gifts to LA. packages are easily tracked and always arrive on time. Since DeJoy took over as Post Master General, the USPS has really declined. We've had important mail get lost and the ability to locate is impossible. my daughters ballot was even lost for the election. I use UPS on Fruitville Road whenever possible! read more

Made an appointment today at this business for notary services and to drop off a return package. My printer won't work so I asked if I could print the return label there; really, $4 computer usage fee for them to print a label so they can have the business to ship the package? Wow! And then I was told they don't have a notary today while my appointment was confirmed. Don't go there! The UPS at my last residence printed labels for free if you couldn't print them. read more

Bizarre, surreal experience. I was shipping a package. The man asked me, "is that a return?". I said no, I am trying to ship a package. He kept telling me it was a return, non stop, doubling down after me telling him I was shipping a package. At some point he said "we call it a return in our business", like he was lecturing me. I couldn't care less how you call something in your business, I am a customer, I am shipping a package, stop confusing me and lecturing me about your business technicalities, I don't care... I shipped hundreds of packages, I never got a person telling me it was a return. Just imagine how crazy it is to confuse a customer like this, not to mention the weird behavior towards a customer... So unreal, 5 years ago I had a bad experience with them, I decided to go back to day, second time, and came to this lol. Just imagine if you have to do anything more involved than shipping a prepaid package. Definitely stay away from here. read more

If I could put negative stars, I would. There's a reason this online yelp review average is 2.7 & this review will not help that average. Similar to a bunch of other reviews, customer service was abysmal. The person who claims to be the owner (for which I can find no evidence on Sunbiz.org) is void of any customer service skills. She yells at the customers, tries to force customers to buy supplies by refusing to give even the simplest of assistance (ie a single piece of tape) refuses to take packages that dont meet her arbitrary & capricious standard of packaging & from a business perspective, is just an all round nasty person to deal with. She may be better suited to work at a zoo where her interpersonal & customer service skills are unimportant to her job. read more

BEWARE! Never do business with this store, especially regarding a print order. My print order was never completed. I received an email that it was ready, I went to pick it up and was told it was not done and I would have to go through corporate to get a refund. Corporate said they had three opportunities of being contacted by them to refund my money. I called to give my information to receive the check they said they had to use to pay me back, I was told they "do not have the money" and will not be refunding me after being told by corporate that they are obligated to refund me. Owners are rude and terribly unprofessional. Cannot stress this warning enough, you will get scammed out of your money by this franchise. read more

I own a small business that ships daily from this store. Today I took 9 boxes in to ship and the bottom broke open on one of the boxes. The owner, a Russian lady refused to give me a piece of tape to secure the box so I had to take it back to the shop and add it. I spend over $2000 per year at this store and will never spend another penny there! I hope she goes bankrupt for poor customer service. read more

Been taking my Amazon purchases there for years. Left them open so I could prove that the item was in box. They charged me $2.13 to tape the box shut. Ridiculous of UPS. I'll take my returns elsewhere. read more

I had this store pack and ship 3 pieces of art that I was shipping to myself in NYC from Sarasota. My mom passed away from covid and these 3 pieces belonged to her. I received the package and one of the pictures frame was filled with broken glass. They did a horrible packing job. I called them, filed a report. UPS has come to my house 2 times to "pick up" this item - I said I'm not giving them my moms art. I told the store that there must be a communication error and to please call ups and handle. I'm looking for a refund for my shipping which was over $100 as well as their packing which was roughly $30 PLUS the insurance so I can fix the smashed frame. We spoke to the owner, Claude, he was working with us in the beginning. Now almost 2 months later he is ignoring our calls, he's never there when we call, we leave messages and he never returns our numerous calls. I cannot fix my mother's picture, it's sitting with the broken glass in the smashed box it arrived in. We are beyond frustrated. read more

I went to the store to send out two bridal boxes for my maids of honor. One of the boxes was sent to the wrong girl, the other one didn't have a label and sat in an office for three days before being sent to overstock (in Kansas). Now, the package is missing and they're trying to find it. This is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. Never getting my business again. read more

I came to Sarasota with 4 days to pack up my dad's apartment so he could move to California. Doug and his employee were extremely helpful, providing me information about the best shipping rates, insurance, etc. I packed and shipped 21 boxes in 3 days, plus arranged for Doug to box up and ship wall hangings. Everything arrived as expected and my brother was able to get dad all moved in. During the course of our interactions, Doug gave me his personal cell number and offered to answer any questions, as well as to come pick up any boxes that I couldn't fit into my vehicle. Went to this location to drop of a return shipment from Amazon. I used their service to print the label at the store. I also used the same packing in which Amazon shipped the product to me. The counter person felt it was necessary to tell me they weren't responsible for taping the package up and that it costs them money to do so. While I understand everything costs something, this seemed like such an inconsequential part of using the service. I was taken aback. I'll use other UPS stores for any further business. read more

The young guy that works at this location has NO sense of urgency. Packages have went missing & he never knows where hey are, nor does he offer to assist. I was shipping something I sold on eBay. I used their calculator to input the box dimensions and weight and got an estimate. I have used it before and shipped at another UPS store and it's always pretty accurate. Today I happened to be going by the UPS store on Fruitville so I decided to drop off the package. It was $7 dollars more than I expected so I looked at the receipt and noticed they had added at least an inch to every dimension and for the height they added two inches! This increases the "total billable weight" regardless of what your actual weight is and is a total scam. When I asked them about it they got out the tape measure and sure enough I was right. The owner came over and tried to explain that they add in extra (apparently however much they want, an inch here, two inches there) because "the package could bulge out and the lasers that they use are sensitive" or some other complete nonsense. They did agree to change the height measurement (I can't believe I had to argue about how a tape measure works) and gave me a $4 refund but if they did this to me I'm sure they're doing it to everyone, just be aware of you choose to go here. The five star UPS store I normal use on Tamiami trail doesn't use deceptive math so I'll continue to go there in the future. read more
