The supervisor of the Apple Valley UPS store was scanning in my return-items and managed to screw it up. Apparently, he didn't seem to realize that Happy Returns combines all the returned items into a single return QR Code.... Seems like may he - above all the employees in that store - should know that.... especially since he immediately asked me to remove all my returned items from their boxes (so clearly, he was aware of Happy Returns' protocols). Once he realized that he made the mistake, he just shrugged and mumbled out a "sorry" and then shouted for the next person to in-line. Whatever your expectations are - lower them. I went in there to return a phone that was already paid for by T-Mobile, and they wouldn't scan it to get their machine to print a label for me, I already had a prepaid tracking number and that didn't register in their brains that I need a label printed to even go on the box. Worst UPS store ever. It is always a line out the door, the store is a dump inside, after waiting in a long line, my Amazon return was supposed to be boxed, which I had it in the box, but she said it needed to be taped shut, I said I have tape in my car but I didn't think I should tape it shut in case you would need to scan the item inside, so she said I needed to buy a roll of tape for $8 or she could tape it for $2. FedEx always is willing to tape it for you, this UPS location is ridiculous-it wasted time having her explain all that, she could have just taped it and been on to next customer. I had to go out to my car, tape my box and wait in the long line all over again- that is horrible customer service. The young lady who helped me was wonderful and patient with me. When I got the price tag, I did have the hot flashes because it was pricey. I went to the location that they used to be and they weren't there, so I called them to see if they were still open. I had just tried another shipping location and they were closed for good. I wanted to make sure that there still was a Apple Valley location. When I called, I was immediately placed on hold and left there to die. I looked it up on Maps and drove to the new location while still being on hold. I walked in the door, still on hold, and tried to get them to help me send out some parts. They wouldn't use the account number that was given to me to use to ship. I wasn't going to pay for the shipping myself, my company wouldn't reimburse me. I hope that Amazon's contract is almost up with UPS and they partner with someone else. UPS is doing Amazon an absolute disservice with their customer service. I have typically had a pretty seemless experience everytime I've needed to return an item from Amazon at this UPS store, until recently. I'll admit, my fault was not keeping my receipt. I've never had issues with not receiving a refund. On April 28th I returned 2 items from my baby registry. A small item for $7 and some change, and a pack and play which is just over $160. It's now May 9th and I haven't received the refund for the Pack and Play. I reached out to Amazon and they said that the Pack and Play was never scanned. This is so odd, as I gave the UPS worker 2 QR codes (1 for each item to scan) and he did. Now, because I don't have a receipt to prove to UPS.. I've found I'm just shit out of luck. The worst part of it, is the interactions I had with the UPS workers over the phone. I called, very nicely, and talked to "Abdul". I explained him my situation and asked if there was any way they would still have the pack and play (as it wouldn't have been shipped due to shipping label not being printed, as the QR return code was never scanned). He said no. I said ok, is there any way I could give you specifics: date, time, what I was wearing, etc and you could pull up cameras to see that I walked in with 2 items and left with 0. "No we don't have cameras". I said ok.. is there anyone else that I could talk to that could get more info for me and hopefully help me or reach some sort of a resolution "No the manager is on maternity leave". Okay is anyone covering for the manager while they're gone? "No". Ok... is there ANYbody that could help or offer me some guidance to resolve this. "No". Literally I felt like I was talking to a wall. Finally I just said I'd contact someone online and hopefully they'd have some suggestions. I filled out an online forum. I called with an issue over 2 tracking numbers (one showed the package delivered fine, the other showed no information, as though the package never left his store). They were Amazon returns. He interrupted me multiple times to state that there are no tracking numbers associated with Amazon. I told him, nicely, that my receipt -- provided to me by his store -- contained tracking numbers and that they worked when plugged into UPS Tracking online. What a piece of s**t company. My 20 pound biometric safe I had delivered is COMPLETELY destroyed. The box is ripped and shredded. The safe inside has giant dents and paint chopped off with those which is visible through the box so it was done with shipping. I've dropped off numerous packages the last week that already have labels on them and don't require a receipt to be given to me and I've never been asked to wait in line even when the line was out the door. It's just to drop them off. The little bald man at the front counter was extremely rude, he asked me to wait in line which if he would have said it more politely I probably would have considered waiting but he was very rude about it. I had to wait around 30 minutes or possibly more while my mom went to Menards to buy some tape. She wanted to charge 8 dollars to tape the box. I'm used to amazon where you bring in things and you don't even need to package it. So I didn't realize they would charge so much to tape the box. The box was heavy so I waited. I asked if I could have one of their masks. The store is small and often busy. They wear cheap masks that don't cost hardly anything and she said sorry no she couldn't give me one. Wow. I just left this UPS store. Both individuals there looked like someone was forcing them to be there. Uninterested, uninviting, rude, disrespectful, and completely annoyed with me and the service I needed. Amazon has claimed to make returns easier and hassle free with their bar codes, but not if I have to go to this store again! The gentleman that "helped" me, printed the labels and just put them on my packages for me to apply myself (I didn't have to do that at a different location, although not the biggest issue), and when the self adhesive on one of my packages got messed up and didn't work right, I asked if I could just grab a piece of tape to make sure it was secure. He annoyingly offered me a roll of tape to buy or he could tape it with "store tape" for an additional $1.50. Really???? I purchased a box from UPS and simply asked if I could step back to put the item into the new box. The clerk asked the manager and he said,"No, it's like going to McDonalds purchasing a hamburger and asking to cook it there." So I will be honest from the start, that I prefer FedEx. However, the company that I work for leverages UPS. And we have a UPS account number... So one would think that you could go to the UPS store and ship something using the UPS account number. But that is not the case. You have to go to an actual UPS facility (not a UPS store), to use an account number or you need to schedule a pick up or shipping online... Not very convenient when you don't have the shipping materials at home or wherever you maybe. Very frustrating... As far as I am concerned, UPS is UPS and it shouldn't matter. read more
