I ask to get the lock changed and new keys as well. He informs me they will get it done right away on Monday. I wait around and I don't receive a call or my mail. I go back in on Saturday, explain the situation and the lady at the counter apologizes profusely and offers to put a hold on my mail as they do not change keys out until Thursday's. She also informs me there is a $40 fee. Ok, I guess I will pay it as I need my mail. She tells me to come back the following day to get my mail. Monday I go in to pick up my mail after 2pm and...they didn't hold my mail. At this point I am getting irritated as I am waiting for a rather sizable check for some bills. I ask if someone can please open my mail box so I can at the least, grab my mail. No, come back tomorrow after 2. Tuesday I go to the post office..DRUMROLL...no mail. Yep, oops, we didn't grab your mail...AGAIN. I ask to talk to the postmaster at this point as I feel like they are withholding my mail. I have been in there 4 days now and still have not gotten my mail. She goes in the back to get him and I hear him tell her it's not his problem and he will get to it tomorrow. I decided that that isn't good enough. He still isn't moved to do anything, but decided he will get my mail and change my lock in the AM. I realize they are most likely busy, but damn!! I received a text earlier today stating my package is ready to pickup. The lady did not even bat an eye before immediately stating it's a scam and tried to get the next customer in line. I told her I was expecting the package and have used USPS text messages reliably for months now. I was forced to pull up the tracking details on the USPS website on my phone before she even consider looking for it. Despite the WEBSITE AND TEXT stating it's ready for pick up since 7am at the HOLT AVE LAKEVILLE USPS LOCATION, she said she couldn't find it, now stating "It must still be on the truck". The order was specifically marked for pick-up since shipping. It was not a missed package that was later changed to pickup. I left Minneapolis early to come pick this up in time and this lady simply refused to be of any help and apparently done this to who knows how many people today. This was imperative as there was live animals in the package that I was trying to get ASAP instead of it being lost in limbo at this USPS because the lady came up with 20 different reasons why she has been unable to find this package or just simply refused to work.

Good with the bad…read more.. Our usual mail carrier is great and does an amazing job!!!! With that being said... The actual office personnel (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT) is deplorable. We've had missing mail multiple times over the past several years. The first complaint was met with an excuse of "it was a substitute mail carrier", followed by several complaints that management telling us "we will look into the matter" but never got ANY response and we were still missing merchandise, money, and greeting cards. Good thing we still got all of our bills. Even making a complaint to the (less than a) Post Master and on the USPS website... again, with NO response or resolve. Then we found out that this Lakeville office was paid a visit from a congressional body a few years ago regarding missing mail, management and other issues... and yet, NONE of these issues have been corrected. You will find long lines at the office, incompetent managers (if they are even in the office at all) and with every excuse of why it isn't their fault for missing items through their office. If it wasn't to buy shipping supplies or providing just the basic transactions... it is not worth your time nor effort. Value... what value??? This management and this office desperately needs to be gutted and revamped to correct the deficiencies that have been ongoing for years and will continue to fester until corrected.
