Twice now the mailperson has placed a package in the parcel locker that is too large to remove. I don't know how they shove it in there but there is a lip on the top and bottom that prevents it from sliding out if the package is really large. I really wish Amazon would use UPS or Fed Ex exclusively. read more

Several times my mail had been delivered to another neighbor's mailbox. What if my neighbor is away on a trip, while my mail is in her mailbox? Get it right! In this job you must be competent and deliver with accuracy. People's confidentiality can get exposed or they'll miss important correspondence. If I could give this post office zero stars I would. They can't quite grasp the task of delivering a package. Even though it says it's delivered, it is not. I cannot trust this post office with any mail or packages. I don't know if the driver marks the package delivered and then keeps it or it is delivered to who knows where. our neigborhood has been getting and exchanging mail that has been put in the wrong boxes.just yesterday i got 4 pies of of my mail from someone down the street and a couple of times Ive gotten mail for some a block over. also the mail person doesnt close our boxes there wide open and they drive on. poor service!!!!! read more

For many reasons the Apple Valley post office is deserving of a one star or lower rating, but the frosting on the cake is the dumb drive up boxes that have been installed there. As a driver dropping off mail I can't 1) reach the drop slot from the driver's seat without putting my car in park, unbuckling my seatbelt, opening my window & door before 2) depositing ONE piece of mail at a time through the thinnest slot ever!! What were they thinking? It's surely not what works for the customer!! Rosemount post office is better! read more

The parking lot and sidewalk have not been cleared of snow for the last week. We have to walk in the driveway because most of the sidewalks have not been shoveled at all. This is an accident waiting to happen. I foresee a lawsuit coming. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I get that its Christmas and there is way more things being mailed. But this is the fourth time in a week we have had NO mail delivery whatsoever. We sporadically get packages. Sometimes two deliveries in one day. Sunday we got 1 package (out of 13 that have yet to be delivered according to informed delivery) and a half hour later we got 5 more. Why are their 2 separate deliveries? Who is in charge of logistics? Drivers shouldn't be crisscrossing each other. This is why nothing is getting done! If I did my job this poorly, I would not have a job. But they are so short staffed they can get away with doing a half-a%@ed job because they wont get fired. read more

I was mailing a package priority international and I was told by the clerk it came with 200$ insurance. Well they lost the package. It never left us customs and afterwards they tell me the country I am sending to has an indemnity clause so I am out the 80$ to ship and the 200$ contents because the clerk is incompetent and misinformed me. Not only that but the package, using their own tracking equipment never left the US proving they lost it or their employee stole it and they still won't do anything. No post office is actually open when humans are around and able to access it. Since government entities don't have competition, they don't care about such things as customer service. So it all comes down to how good their self-serve kiosks are. This is the third post office I went to, and the second one where I was able to get in to the lobby, and the only one where I was able to get in and use the machine to buy stamps. Carriers lost my mails more than 3 times in past 6months . They take advantage of people Bc Usps is no responsible for missing or lost items when not insured . Has always been fast and friendly. These one star ratings on here are odd since I've never had a bad visit.

I usually do not write reviews of government-run businesses but this establishment of a post office really prompted me to do so and not in a good way either. I've been to many post offices around the nation and this is by far THE absolute worst of them all. Upon walking in, you will be greeted with an ungodly lengthy wait time and once you get to the counter, an unforgettable horrible customer service. You would have a better experience talking to one of the self service kiosks. Seriously!! I suggest you mail your stuff out with one of the two Automatic Postal Centers (APCs). If you really have to get service which I sometimes do with money orders, you will get a temporary sharp migraine waiting in line endlessly for your turn. No, it's not my first time stopping in here as it is the closest post office in my area. I might have to venture out to Burnsville or some other neighboring areas because I have had enough of this so-called post office. read more

Dear new (future) YELP owners, please install a negative star for feedback of establishments like the U.S. Post Office, Apple Valley branch. "It is one of the few government agencies explicitly authorized by the United States Constitution. The USPS traces its roots to 1775 during the Second Continental Congress, where Benjamin Franklin was appointed the first postmaster general." Ben Franklin would turn over in his grave and curse in disgust at the lack of service this place provides. 30 minutes to buy stamps. I too attempted to purchase stamps out of the machine. And I too didn't get them. After ringing the bell several times at the service door, where not more than 30 seconds prior some other unhappy someone was being assisted to, I gave up and got in line. I'll mention there was 12 or more agitated people in line with one person behind the counter. Seriously, I'm not crazy about my job either. But the actions of this lot only spell out pathetic. read more

In the 30 years I've lived in this area, this is BY FAR the lowest ranking establishment I have ever encountered when it comes to customer service. Unfriendly, uncaring, unhelpful-- well here's an example: want to call about a problem? THEY HAVE NO PHONE! You get to call the USPS 1-800 number in Washington DC and try to get them to sort it out. Stay away. Use Email. Use stamps.com. Use alternative mailing centers. Fax. Just phone instead of writing. They should have a mass purge and start over with people who don't yank the phones out but who want to meet and serve the public. read more

This is absolutely the most continuously ill-run operation I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. Over the past year, I'm correctly receiving roughly 50% of USPS packages to Kingston Green Apartments; maybe less. At this point, I'm pretty sure I've become a recognizable face to the location manager, Vicky; but with the line of angry patrons I have to wait behind just to holler about an issue, and the line that's waiting behind me when I'm done- who knows if that's even true. First, this location doesn't track packages. They know when a package is on their tracker, but they just mark everything "delivered" whether it is or not. I was told by Vicky last year that "yes, they do show as delivered on the website, but that just means they may come in that day, or not until the next day even". So they're not actually tracking ANYTHING! Second, I've had more packages delivered to the building on the other side of the block than my own. Last summer I had a Futon delivered off Amazon, and they dropped it at an entirely different apartment building. And I spoke to Vicky again, her solution to the problem was that I could just drive over to that location and pick it up, because "its not real far". I had a missing package for days in early November, and this location tried to tell me it was the "Christmas rush"....it was almost two weeks before Thanksgiving! I put the package on a "pick-up at USPS only" setting; and a few days later when I was notified the package was again there, I went to the location and they told me (after a 20 minute search) that the driver must have taken it back out again. Once I spoke to Vicky "AGAIN" about it, and really "voiced" my opinion, I no more got into my car to leave their office when my phone sent me a delivery update that my package had just been delivered (hmm... what coincidental timing). I was home not even five minutes later and there was no package. I immediately went back (calling isn't even worth the time) and waited over 20 minutes in line to talk to Vicky again (she was busy getting reamed by a buffet line of other unhappy patrons again), and her only solutions was that someone must have already taken it (in those 90 seconds it took me to get to my apartment). Several other packages were just sitting there at my apartment from Amazon and FedEx (one was even very obviously a computer monitor), but my small non-descript box from UPSP was sniped pretty much out of the delivery mans hands?!?! Any time I order something to be delivered from anywhere, I am very meticulous about stating that I will not accept packages from USPS, and most places are pretty good about it. I've even paid extra shipping to avoid it. But this week, an Amazon package (apparently shipped USPS even though Amazon has their own trucks) showed up on my account as "pending delivery from USPS". I cringed! By Wednesday, the package dinged my phone that it had been delivered, and 30 seconds later when I got downstairs.....(I hope you're sitting down, because this will blow you away).... there was NO PACKAGE. I went to their office first thing on Thursday morning AGAIN, talked to Vicky, AGAIN, and she said she'd look into it. An hour later she called me that "the driver believes he left it at another location, but couldn't get back to it because it was locked". Then, she back-tracked and said my package was probably stolen again. Right, about a thousand UPS, FedEx, and Amazon deliveries made without a single box ever swiped; but somehow, about 50% of my USPS packages are gone within minutes- if they aren't dropped off elsewhere. I work from home at my apartment, and when the delivery app sends me an alert that there's been a delivery, I'm down in about 30-40 seconds.....boy those guys stealing exclusively USPS packages at my CCTV surveillanced apartment complex sure are fast; and sneaky. And worst of all, like any federal employees, the folks at the USPS to give two F's about your mail. What a joke! read more

Apple Valley Post Office is the most unreliable Post Office. Their carriers to the Springs Apartments are careless and do not deliver it to the correct address. I have had important legal documents that were lost and not delivered to my mailbox. This is very disturbing. read more

This place has drastically improved their customer service. I was in there today and the person helping me was outstanding! I had to ship a package to Canada and a couple letters. It's a post office - so it is what it is. Lobby is strangely dark, but it's rarely busy (at least when I go), and I've never had any issues with service or equipment not working. This is the worst postal service I've ever received. I live in an apartment complex and for one, who ever delivers our mail consistently manages to leave the mailboxes open so anyone of my neighbors could grab my mail or vise versa! Two, one of the workers actually left a key in my mailbox! They don't know who I am! I could have used it to get into any of the other mailboxes!! Three, I have not received a single package that was supposed to be delivered by them! My fiance ordered books for his GRE test but they never showed up. I ordered toys for my dog and they didn't show up. First they tell me my tracking number doesn't work even though it worked when I called Amazon and DHL...Second, the tracking I got said they delivered it at a time when I was home!! Why wouldn't they buzz me because I know that package would not have fit in my mailbox. So what, did they just leave it in the public entryway where anyone could have stolen it!? Even when I was home and could have come down to get it if they had just ringed me!??? Third, the carrier who would have delivered it just happens to not be working the day after the supposed delivery so now I have to wait and see if they'll actually call me back tomorrow. What a scam. I held my mail through USPS through a certain date. I was notified that my mail would then be delivered a day after the ending hold date. I checked my mail on that date and all that was in my mailbox was a rubber band and no mail. I called the Apple Valley location at 8:05 AM (5 minutes after opening) the following day and all I got was a ringing phone and no answer. I then sent an inquiry through the USPS website asking about my missing mail. I then get a phone call from the Apple Valley location 3 hours later letting me know that they do not have a carrier able to deliver my mail (including my mail that was included in the hold period) until 3 days after the hold expiration date. I did let the person know that this was unacceptable. I had no idea that the Apple Valley location could decide when I should receive my mail. Do not ask for a mail hold if you get your mail delivered by this location. Ask a family member or friend to pick it up for you and do not go through what I'm going through right now. read more

I dropped off a package in the blue box outside yesterday at 3pm. It has a tracking number since I print shipping labels at home for my business. It should have been collected at 5pm yesterday and scanned into the system. It is the middle of the following day and still has not been received by the post office. I tried calling to check on it and was not able to talk to anyone since the wait time said 43-64 approximate minutes to be on hold. This is really disappointing service. read more

As someone who has previously worked at the post office, I find this location to be lacking in scanning the packages in as I have had numerous packages that doesn't have "an acceptance" scan, and packages won't get a scan until it has reached the St Paul PD&C. Also I noticed long lines is due to the 2 APC machines being vandalized, and me knowing how the Post Office works, they are "very slow" in the maintenance department and might not get that fixed until December. With the busy season coming up, I'm very glad not to working at USPS anymore. Mis-deliveries will happen but it will happen more during this time of the year. Good luck to all of you if you are mailing something to the post office, the "Grinch" is alive and will take "some of your presents". LOL read more

I hate to agree with the last user but I have to. You would swear these people died and went to hell and hell was this post office. No one is smiling and the lines here are normally outrageous. I don't know where to start!! I paid for a 2 day shipping and sent my box to New York on December 2 and the person I was sending the box to was at a hotel who was leaving the 6th so the clerk told me to use the 2 day shipping which I paid $48 for! Well, friend left on the 6th and the box didn't reach until the 9th!!! I was so tired of running around checking on it and I finally tracked it and they said it would get rejected and so it did on the 9th and the next day the pathetic post office sent it out to the same address instead of sending it back! I filed a complaint and they responded back saying it was delivered. Customer service is horrible and there service is outrageously annoying! I will never use them again and the sad part is that I never received my items back! They need to learn customer service ONE and second they really need to stick to their policy!! Absolutely disgusting horrible service! There have been several occasions where I have walked in within 10 minutes to close, and the manager is already berating customers about closing soon and how they may not be serviced. Aside from the fact that she looks like a methhead who has been chainsmoking her entire life; she is appallingly disrespectful and unprofessional! My last visit in, 5 minutes to close, she told myself and several other customers they were closed and we had to have our packages ready to ship. I guess I was mistaken in thinking an attendant would help me package my items appropriately?! I understand people want to go home and do other things.. but a store closes AT the posted time, not before, and even then shaking your head and rolling your eyes at people is not decent customer service! Waited over 35 minutes in line, only one person working and she took her break while another postal employee told patrons she was on break but we could use the automated system if we didn't want to wait.
