The African American lady at the Lakeville, MN [20711 Holt Ave] USPS (there were two ladies and this one has ALWAYS refused to wear a name tag) was terribly rude to the people in front of me--the owner of Stoa's Small Engine Repair here in Lakeville, refusing to give him his package despite having the information and wearing his business outfit--and proceeded to be rude and gaslight about my package soon after. I received a text earlier today stating my package is ready to pickup. The lady did not even bat an eye before immediately stating it's a scam and tried to get the next customer in line. I told her I was expecting the package and have used USPS text messages reliably for months now. I was forced to pull up the tracking details on the USPS website on my phone before she even consider looking for it. Despite the WEBSITE AND TEXT stating it's ready for pick up since 7am at the HOLT AVE LAKEVILLE USPS LOCATION, she said she couldn't find it, now stating "It must still be on the truck". The order was specifically marked for pick-up since shipping. It was not a missed package that was later changed to pickup. I left Minneapolis early to come pick this up in time and this lady simply refused to be of any help and apparently done this to who knows how many people today. This was imperative as there was live animals in the package that I was trying to get ASAP instead of it being lost in limbo at this USPS because the lady came up with 20 different reasons why she has been unable to find this package or just simply refused to work. read more

Good with the bad... Our usual mail carrier is great and does an amazing job!!!! With that being said... The actual office personnel (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT) is deplorable. We've had missing mail multiple times over the past several years. The first complaint was met with an excuse of "it was a substitute mail carrier", followed by several complaints that management telling us "we will look into the matter" but never got ANY response and we were still missing merchandise, money, and greeting cards. Good thing we still got all of our bills. Even making a complaint to the (less than a) Post Master and on the USPS website... again, with NO response or resolve. Then we found out that this Lakeville office was paid a visit from a congressional body a few years ago regarding missing mail, management and other issues... and yet, NONE of these issues have been corrected. You will find long lines at the office, incompetent managers (if they are even in the office at all) and with every excuse of why it isn't their fault for missing items through their office. If it wasn't to buy shipping supplies or providing just the basic transactions... it is not worth your time nor effort. Value... what value??? This management and this office desperately needs to be gutted and revamped to correct the deficiencies that have been ongoing for years and will continue to fester until corrected. read more

I ran a business using this post office's mail boxes FOR YEARS and received excellent service and never have had any issue with the package handling or shipping. It's hard to NOT notice the negativity aimed towards this place and it's employees. Based on my experience with this local USPS office, the criticism is quite unfounded. The staff are polite, very clear & direct in their communication, and always seem to make a good-faith effort to assist members of the downtown Lakeville community. I only wish nearby FedEx and UPS franchises were as kind and cost efficient! read more

If I could give a negative number on here I would! The postmaster general at the Lakeville post office is the most incompetent individual I have Ever dealt with in a post office. We move to Lakeville end of July and have been having mail forwarding issues ever since. The post master says "it's a PERSONAL issue and that I am to stop my forwarding service to stop my issues". The people who bought our previous house have our same last name and all the woman's mail is getting forwarded in our Son's name to our address! His excuse is that "We process 75,000 pieces of mail everyday and we don't verify labels, we just make sure it's at the correct post office". He said to me "I have no way of verifying if your change of address went through" I then went to the Woodbury Post office and the Post Master was able to look up our change of address in 2 minutes and tell me if it was accepted or not. How can the post master in Lakeville get fired? Who can I complain to? He is a terrible human who also told me that "I am not required to tell you who my supervisor is so I can file a complaint about him!" Some nerve this human has! read more

they never answer the phone, i had a package lost my email said it was supposed to be delivered two days ago and it has not been delivered i assume the postal person put the package in the wrong mailbox and it has my license plates in it so a very important package, trying to get ahold of anyone to discuss this issue is totally a big headache. They need more training or hire more competent employees. read more

The staff I would rate 4. They are usually friendly and helpful. The post office itself is tiny and soo old. Lights are burned out, things are duct taped together. I feel sorry for the employees!! Parking is not convenient! There are a couple places out on the street but the lot is in the back and you have to walk through a shopping center to get to it. What's most frustrating is that they have no self service machine. I wish this were mandatory in all post offices! Their is often a line and only one person working. read more

It just floors me how difficult this post office is to work with. I've lived here a couple years and have had a fraudulent change if address (that they approved), mail delivered to neighbors, mail never delivered, mail delivered 6 months late, and neighbors mail delivered to me. And we have a community mail box that is supposed to make it more convenient for them! Not as great as they think they are. read more

In addition to constantly having mail delivered to me that's not mine, mostly my next door neighbors. I feel like I'm doing their job in delivering mail to many people in my neighborhood. Who know how much mail is actually missed from in correct deliveries. The complaints go unswered, the phone is never answered. What to do? Frustrating as hell! read more

Rude employees, never answers the phone, mail never gets picked up, mail is jammed into your mail box,ripping your mail up. This place is horrible and no one really seems to care. Not sure why I'm bothering leaving a review but, they just need to hang it up and leave it to the pros, Ups, FedEx a kid on a bike anything!! first I go to the post office to ship a package CANT get that done because they have one employee that don't know what they're doing! So I just leave.. Then I get an email that a item I ordered is being returned to sender because usps couldn't find my address but yet they deliver mail here each day and yes I double checked my address on the order. The Lakeville MN post office is the worst I have experienced. Some of the employees are good, but the postmaster is incompetent. Our house number is the same as a house on a different street. Duplicate numbers, different streets. I still get mail for the other customer. I wonder where my mail is, especially when all I get in my box belongs to someone else. This post office is a shining example of why the postal service should be shut down. My package has been sitting there for over 48 hours and they have made no attempt to deliver. Now I get that with COVID they have fewer workers, BUT I don't believe it's too much to ask to ask them to keep to a delivery schedule. Also they're very rough with mail, such as bending my diploma to force it into the mail box even though it clearly says "do not bend". IDK how much more incompetent you can get. read more

Disappointed every time I go to this post office. I have had to pick up packages a few times and they can NEVER find them. I end up waiting almost 20 - 30 minutes every time I have to do a pick up. The staff is so-so. Some are nice and helpful, others are very rude and shouldn't be working the front counter. My biggest issue, that brought me to write this review, is the new face mask mandate. Couple of things here. 1. Employees weren't even wearing mask right - under their nose, other one had his loose and not tightened down around the face. 2. The sign on their door clearly states you need a face mask to enter their facility. A customer walked in, stood in there for about 4 minutes, chatting with the worker without a face mask on. Employee didn't even say a word about it. I would have thought they would have said at least something. Why even have these safety measures in place and post it on your door, if the businesses aren't going to enforce it. What a joke. Sad and disappointed in the USPS and people in general for not protecting others health. read more

I really want to give them a negative rating or a zero star. This office is badly managed. The delivery guy is very irresponsible. So many times, I received my neighbors mail or package. I believed he delivered my mail or package to other mail box too. Recently I had a package marked as delivered by USPS, but I can't find the package at all in the mail box. The office phone is always in busy state in office hours. Interestingly once it is out of business hours, the phone can be got through but of course no one picks up the phone. The post office employees are nice however they do not take responsibility for packages that they put in your mailbox. I have a keyed mailbox. I received the key for the box at the bottom of our box which means you have a package. I however was unable to get the package out because the key would not turn. I tried this for 3 days. I called the post office to make them aware I could not get my package out. They asked me to leave the key in my mailbox and they would get my package to my door. I took off from work. I went to my home and checked my mail then just tried the key in the bottom box again. It worked. However my package was gone. So I checked at my house. Nothing there. I then went to the post office and after waiting in line and then speaking to an employee who went to look and see if they had my package I then spoke to the employee I had spoken to that morning. I said I had a package in there and now there is nothing in there and no one can locate my package. I was told we have had a different driver on our route everyday because our main gal is out sick. They have no way to know who took it out or where it is. They want me to provide a tracking number. I shop a lot online since COVID so I have no clue what packages are coming at this point. Plus its Christmas time and I have family all over the United states that could have sent something. They wont take responsibility for losing/misplacing my package. I found out that the driver for that day was now on my street so I went to track him down to find out what happened. He seemed like he was on some uppers of some sort and couldn't stand still and had to keep moving. He was not helpful. He did say he was looking in everyone's boxes to make sure it didn't go into the wrong box. I spent 2 hours that I should have been a work to get 0 results and get told they don't track anything hey place in our package mailbox. When I got home he was still in our neighborhood at 6pm digging through his truck. I am beyond livid at this point and think they should be responsible for misplacing my package or steeling it. read more
