A new place that is creating fantastic meals in a beautiful space. The staff out front and in the kitchen are just good people who obviously care deeply about food, ... and service. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for dinner, the lady over the phone was very accommodating, however, once we arrived there seemed to be a problem with our reservation. The host was very accommodating and we were able to get a spot at the bar even though our reservation was misplaced. We shared the ribs and the crab cakes to start, both were exceptional and light despite the nature of both dishes. For our mains we shared the rack of lamb and the filet mignon which were even more amazing than the appetizers. Overall the experience was amazing, and you can simply not beat eating your meal on the water. Expensive but lovely. I liked that it had top quality food but the place isn't fancy at all. $192 (Canadian) for two of us before tip. We shared two appetizers which were both delicious. My husband had excellent fish and I had the lamb chops which were cooked just right but not that flavorful. Small but lovely strawberry/rhubarb cheesecake for dessert, which we split. Extremely difficult to find. If you haven't been there below allow 20 minutes for driving by three times before parking in the marina lot and asking 10 or so people if they can help you find it. Over all experience was very poor. We docked at the marina on our last night in B.C. looking forward to a nice on shore meal. The restaurant was booked for the normal eating hours but we agreed on a 5 PM arrival and would be out by 6:30 PM. On arrival our waiter Germaine showed us to our table on the deck. My wife asked if we could sit inside because it was windy and cold. We were the only people there. He got very curt and after a few minutes showed us to a table inside and told us we would have be out by 6:20 PM. Because of his attitude and lack of customer appreciation (the people paying his wages) I wanted to leave but I decided to try to salvage the evening and ordered our meals. My wife was happy with her selection and said it was very good, mine was OK, but I'm sure the excess stomach acid didn't help. Bottom line, we will never attempt to eat here again and will advise all of our extensive boating friends of our experience. As reflected in some of the other comments, reasonable food bad service. Awesome food! We ate there several years ago, but the last two times we tried to eat there they were full, all booked. We come in by boat because they are on the upper deck of the marina. It's hard to know days in advance when your going to be able to stop by. Weather conditions Water conditions and wind. Problem is, is that they have a very strong local following which is good for business but not good for boaters. The night we tried they didn't even fill all the tables. Must have a preset limit. So unless you're at the marina for several days your most likely out of luck. The marina is quite expensive wish they would save some room for boaters. Most likely we will pass this place up from now on. read more

Went for a birthday celebration last week. Pros - food quality - 8/10 for my pasta - 7.5/10 for wife's halibut and prawns (only two prawns) - service - 9/10 - Marin, was very good and attentive Cons - expensive - small wine list and were out of my selection - charged for extra bread to have with our mussel appetizer - paper napkins, something like you would use in a garage to wipe your hands - do not have lattes, cappuccino or expresso (really) - washroom out of TP and our friend was told they were all out. (no kidding). Also not very clean We had tried to go there before when we came in after a boat ride (4 of us) and another couple in front of us. They were very quiet but said they were going to close early so we could not be served. This was at 7:30 at night. Went to the Rockwater for a great dinner. Overall, the best I can give is 3 stars until they pick up their act. Would have been nice since we dropped $500.00 do at least comp a desert for my wife's birthday. The old owners even had the chef come around to chat to every customer. read more

We really loved the food here! Get reservations just cause you may not know when they are closing. Or at least that's how it was in our case. But the waiter Dave was nice and asked the chef if they'd seat us and they did. Everything we ate was amazing and heartfelt and there was a great live folk singer. We ate around 8pm. read more

Best dinner we've had boating in a long while! Service was above and beyond excellent, but most impressive was the variety of fresh items on the short menu which caters to everyone. Especially excellent were the sauces and spices/fresh herbs used by the chef (originally from Painted Boat Resort) the combination of ingredients were new and inspirational.... not just another plate of salmon! wow paired with olive tapenade and a great sauce, calamari super fresh, mussels with just enough spice and coconut milk and a steak that melts off your fork!! Great wine list and desserts too! Lucky soul who moors in Secret Cove and gets a Rez at upper deck restaurant. read more

So sad to end my birthday dinner with an excuse and a justification to cook rack of lamb to well done. Rack of lamb should be medium rare if slightly medium and never ! Well done. The staff and apparently the chef was not accommodating or apologetic with their mistake or even offering a complimentary desert for a birthday. This is a unique restaurant setting being on the top deck of a floating marina. The setting is gorgeous and the deck views are marvellous. Reservations are recommended. The dress is relatively casual but the prices are high and the menu is limited. I gave a low rating because I had a terrible main course tonight (at a whopping $32). I couldn't stomach more than 2 bites. I sent it back to be cooked more, and it came back still terrible. The waiter offered me complimentary dessert but after having appies before dinner I just couldn't eat more. I'd hoped he would have knocked a bit off of the bill but nope! Very disappointing. My husbands meal was fine though. Don't order the duck. It's tough, salty, red rare and tasteless. read more
