The woman who answered the phone was rude and indifferent to my concerns. She said that's how long it takes. My order finally arrived an hour and a half after I placed it. I originally had a poor experience with delivery, but this was a misunderstanding. The owner was helpful and said he would update the online ordering menu, which was the cause of the issue. Offered to give me another roll for free on the next visit, which I will definitely try. So, for now the review is about the pizzas. They were really good! Toppings were quite abundant. The mushrooms were cooked through thoroughly and the cheese was perfectly melted. There were still crispy edges on the pie as well. Plus, the crust and dough were very tasty and not too thick for a thin crust. I'd recommend the pizzas and will come back to retry the calzone/roll. read more

Upper Crust proves one thing to me: The general public has really poor taste in pizza. There is no other explanation for how busy this place is each night. The traditional large cheese pizza I got was dry as a bone. Its like they just flavored the dough with a hint of sauce. There wasn't even enough cheese to make up for it or even really flavor it. Seriously. Bone dry. And really it is just so generic a recipe and such cheap ingredients. Basically this follows the lead of any given national chain place. The service was fine seeing how busy it was. I don't hold a long wait against them. But My God, people. Try Pizza Roma over by Perrysville or Pomodoro over in Wexford. That's some of the best pizza I've ever had - and Upper Crust pales oh sooooo badly in comparison. The chicken strips I got, by the way... they pretty much throw 'em in a microwave. The hoagie was pretty good I'll admit, but again, I've had better. I feel sorry for the people lined up waiting at Upper Crust. I called and asked for specials, was told about the special, and ordered the special... $23.99. I arrived to pick up the special. Gave them my name and was charged... $28.99. I did my best to calmly explain that I had just spoken with someone and subsequently ordered the special... for $23.99. They told me that prices had gone up... and looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out my ears for being surprised at the rate of inflation over 45 minutes at upper crust. I came here with TWO VANS FULL of energetic and excited kids (20+ children, aged 6-16). The staff could NOT have been any more accommodating! They were not only friendly and patient with us as we took over ALL of the seats in their establishment (we fortunately came in between the dinner/lunch rush on a weekday), but they also went above & beyond to help us take care of and serve all of our group. Here is the thing, I want to like this place so badly. It's close to me, the pizza is good, the prices are fair, and the owner seems like a super nice guy. A few things keep happening though that always make me think twice before ordering. 1. There are phone and credit card processing issues sort of frequently. 2. Often times I'll call to place the order and my husband will go pick it up. If I give his name, they write down a female name instead (I am assuming because they hear a female voice on the phone) and confusion ensues when he goes to pick it up. If I give them my name and he indicates that when he goes to pick up the order, the staff seems equally baffled. This can't be such an uncommon occurrence that it should be so confusing. 3. I like that there's a decent sized sub menu. I've ordered the buffalo chicken sub a few times and it's so wildly inconsistent. It's supposed to come with chicken, cheese, lettuce, and ranch. I always ask for no ranch. While they do always leave the ranch dressing off, they also leave off the other toppings too. Tonight I just got cubes of buffalo chicken on a roll, and it's not the first time. read more

Not impressed. My husband and I ordered a small pizza with half meatballs/pepper rings, and then a six inch chicken parm hoagie to share. The hoagie was straight-up gross. The chicken was a thin, rubbery, low-quality, processed chicken patty and there was barely any sauce or cheese. My husband and I each took a bite and were like...yep, this is going directly into the trash (ugh I HATE wasting food, but it really was disgusting). The pizza was definitely better, but nothing remarkable. The crust was thick, fluffy, and chewy...fairly standard for most Pittsburgh pizza shops. The cheese was plentiful and the sauce was slightly sweet. It wasn't a bad pie, but if I didn't know where I had ordered from, I'd think this could be pizza from any number of shops. Nothing distinctive or particularly delicious...just standard pizza. Definitely not pizza worth going out of my way for. read more

I had to give it three stars because, although it's easily the best pizza I've ever eaten, I live literally up the road (a 3 minute drive) and any time I've had the pizza delivered, it's ALWAYS taken at least an hour and fifteen minutes. One hour and fifteen minutes for a pizza to be delivered from down the road. Any time I pick up the pizza, it's amazing. But the 3 or 4 times I was unable to leave the house due to a party or something like that and had to have the pizza delivered, I was wildly disappointed. My suggestion: DEFINITELY get this pizza. It's delicious. But do not order it for delivery. Especially if you live farther than a 3 minute drive. I can't imagine how long it would take for a delivery outside of that zone. read more

The most exceptional "Pizza shop" that I've been to in Pittsburgh. This isn't some fru fru pizza la restaurante with a dress code. I'm talkin' real food with weight! The Pizza's removed a couple minutes prior to completion and the crust is marinated in garlic butter. They use real grande cheese and the toppings are all fresh. The greek salad is delicious, fresh and harty. Actually, I don't think I've had anything there that I don't like. Beware of the hot wings if you're not ready for a swift kick. The only problem is when they're busy, you're not getting food delivered by the next commercial break, I promise you that! read more

Great pizza if you are ever in the fox chapel/hartwood area. Actually, if you need some quick food on the way to a concert at Hartwood give this place a shot (It is less than five minutes from the concert venue).
